First of all, I am not arriving until 10:45 at night, are the car rental places even open then? And if so, do you guys know of any good deals. I am not a member of the Disney Club, so the discounts with Emerald wont work with me. I need to rent a car for that four full days, and bring it back on the fifth...

Yes, National Car was open 24 hours. We dropped a car off at 4:30 am last time we were there. Do you have a membership to a Sam's Club or something similar? I believe they have discounts with an agency. I also get a discount with my teacher's organization. Anything like that available to you? Also check the internet. Sometimes they have special deals. I have also seen good prices in the Sunday paper travel section.

Hi Tink

I'm going to move this over to the Transportation Board for you. Lots of car rental experts over there.

you might also want to check with your Cc company too to see if they have any special rates with any companies. my visa gold has a contract with national so I also get that discounted rate plus any coupons that might be out there.

Also, any other organization you may belong to could have a contract number...this includes trade organizations, service organizations, etc. Check with your employers benefits office.

On the same subject...since you are arriving at 10:45 have you noticed that if you don't pick up the car until midnight I think you will save a days rental charge. I'm thinking by the time you get your luggage and get over to National it wouldn't be that long to wait to save 30-40 bucks.

Doesn't matter if you wait until midnight. It goes by hours on the clock.
24 HRS = 1 DAY. Anything overthat will be charged extra hour charge until the extra hour charge is more than an extra day charge. Anything over 4 days is charged at the lower weekly rate.

Actually I am not sure ALL rental car companies go by the 24 hour clock. I thought that Dollar went on a day rate. I know that some of the offsite (no brand name) rental car companies do that! They make more money that way!

Have you looked at the budget board on here. They seem to have great ways of saving over there and
can refer you to some code sites. Good luck
