before I presented it to the girls. It is in their "Try Its" book. We are working on the science wonders patch.

The directions say, put about 5 Tablespoons skim milk in a glass jar, add a drop of lemon juice one at a time stirring in between each drop. What happens???

Well, I followed the directions and I'll tell you what happens, NOTHING! Good thing I tried before I tried presenting it to the girls.

Does anyone know of a similar science experiment I can try that may actually change the substance from one thing to another???

Thanks!

Should'nt the lemon juice curdle the milk. Thats how you make cottage cheese but adding an acid to milk like vinegar or lemon juice. I do it all the time.

Strange nothing happened to ur milk.

it happens for us. It also seems to thicken it. I know that I can use 1tsp of lemon juice + 1 c milk in place of buttermilk in recipes.

I was literally using a "drop" then stirring, another "drop", I gave the lemon a good hard squeeze and now the milk is solidifying.

Phew....
