Does anyone else just split meals at the Disney restaurants and ask for 2 plates? They give you a heck of a lot of food and my wife and I figured that if each of us is leaving half our meal there, we should just share!! Then we ususally split an appetizer and dessert also!! Should I feel dumb doing this?

My 2nd question--what does DH stand for? I keep seeing it on these boards and can't figure it out. Thanks!!!

No answer to question #1 for you, but #2 DH stands for Dear, or D@mn Husband, whichever the mood hits! (usually "Dear") LOL!

My sister and I have split meals many times and usually WDW restaurants split the food for you in the kitchen and bring it out on two plates. We have never had a problem when we told the server we were splitting a meal.

mrssalvaggio - Don't feel so dumb....according to the tech help at www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm , DH stands for "Dear (Darling, Disney) Husband". Of course the "D" could stand for other things. ;) I printed out the abbreviations & have them next to me when I'm on the boards because I'm easily confused. I've got a few months to go before my trip, so maybe by then I won't need my cheat sheet, but we'll see.

I have seen many posts on these boards regarding splitting food. Disney doesn't seem to have a problem with it and usually will have split the food and plated it separetly before it is served to you.

Just keep in mind to tip the server approrpiately. S/He is still serving two people two "meals" even though they are only paying for one.

Hi! My husband and I are going to WDW in October for our 30th anniversary.

I don't think splitting meals is "dumb", just practical. My husband and I always split meals in restaurants anyway, so at WDW it just lets you try more things if you happen to get hungry a little later. It's your money and your stomach, the servers are serving you. And I think it's romantic! I also think it would make cruising around the parks more comfortable without being stuffed to the gills. I personally hate to waste food.

And thank you very much, Motaie for that hot link to the abbreviations! I hadn't found that yet and reading the board was quite challenging!

Hope your trips are filled with magic!!!

DH and I do this ALL the time! We just can't eat all the food they serve and it just gives us more to spend at another time! Like others we are able to sample more options. It isn't unusual for us at home or away to make a meal out of 2-3 appetizers and salad/soup.

In my case, DH stands for dear husband.....Disney Husband would be a REAL stretch....I know my DH loves me because he doesn't really like DW but goes almost every year anyway!! Okay, he likes Epcot and Pleasure Island....but the Magic Kingdom is his idea of pergatory!! But, off he tredges with his Eeorye attitude...OH NO...I have to go to the Magic Kingdom AGAIN!

hi penny2
i thought it was only me that had a dh that isn't that impressed with mk(i know what a terrible thing to say)he goes along with us to please me and my ds who's 7, he would much rather spend his time in epcot and he just loves animals so ak is high on his list,as for me and our ds's give us magic kingdom any day:) :) :)
