I hated my title, so like a bad hotel~I had to change it!! UPDATED 5/5/09!

Ok The part about your mother having to scrape you up with a shovel is sooo wrong but soooo funny!!:lmao::rotfl::lmao::rotfl:

Whenever I go to the bathroom (not every single time but you know what I mean) my 6 year old stands outside the door and here is the conversation we always have.
Him: Mom, are you peeing or pooping?
Me: Go away and give me some privacy. I will be right out.
Him: Well are you peeing or pooping?

Are you asking about the scrapbook page? Well..........ummmmm........yeah that.:rolleyes1
nope? not yet?:confused3

Don't you just love the conversations through the door about what business you might be doing. My Grandma, told me when her young'ns were actually young they use to bang on the door, conversation went as follows

Young'n: how long you gonna be?
Grandma: Till I'm all done.
Young'n :When will that be?
Grandma: As soon as I file the paper work.
Young'n :Are you going number 1 or number 2?
Grandma: 76!!!!
Young'n: Oh, diareah huh?

Gotta tell ya this too, at work we have to wear walkie talkies, I accidentally hit the talk button while pulling up my britches and for a few short seconds all my co workers heard my flush. They were waiting outside the bathroom door to applaud me.

~BEEP!.......BEEP!..........BEEP!........

This is a required ~ is anyone still reading my pre-trip report ~ test. At this time this is only a test. IF it comes to be that no one, except Maddie2, is following along with my planning then this test will be followed by directions of what you can do with your pre-trip report.

~BEEP!.........BEEP!...........BEEP!........

OUCH!
ummm, glad I'm still following, my PTR has some pretty sharp edges that could do some damage if ya know what I mean!

:thumbsup2:dance3: Hip-Hip Hooray!! I really do have readers! Well I read your report last night (LOVE IT) and to answer your question above. Yes I do know what you mean!:rotfl::lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Where to eat? Where to eat? Now that is the question. This is always a tough one for me b/c it will be 2:00 at my house and one of the kids will ask "what's for dinner mom?" After I scream at them until they are curled in a ball on the floor and ask what the heck do they think this is a restaurant and I am the chef now get up and give me 20 soldier ~well like I said I am a good mother, not bragging just saying, so of course I did not say that to them. I just thought it. So once the thought passes and I know it is safe to open my mouth and speak without the fear of the school shrink calling me I tell them that I am not sure I am trying to figure it out. So if at 2:00 I am not sure what we will be eating at 6:00 imagine the difficulty of trying to decide in February what I may just be in the mood for in MAY!! Well I guess February isn't to bad when I think about the fact that last year I had to know in DECEMBER what I might want to eat in June! I don't know about any of you but my taste for certain foods changes with the season. Not all foods but many. So as I am sitting here during a snow storm with my DH making baked macaroni and cheese, candy yams, fresh rolls and steak the thought of a "grilled swordfish over a bed of fresh spinach salad drizzled with a mango sauce" is the last thing I feel like digging in to. Plus the other bonus is my husband and I can never decide where the heck we want to eat when going out for dinner. See this is how our conversation goes.
DH: Where do you feel like eating.
ME: I don't care I'll do whatever.
DH: You have no preference on what your in the mood for?
ME: Nope.
DH: Your not craving anything?
ME: Nope. If your in the mood for something then you pick and I will be fine eating there.
DH: Um, I don't know either.
ME: Listen I really do not care what we eat but if we do not figure it out soon I'm just going to say forget it and lets stay home.
DH: Ok, how about we go to the Italian Restaurant?
ME: No, I'm really not in the mood for italian.
DH: Ok then how about the Chinese restaurant where they cook at the table?
ME: Nah, I just saw a report on Dateline about the Chinese restaurant that they found rat droppings in.
DH: Lisa, we live in Massachusetts and the report was from Indiana.
ME: So.
DH: Ok then what are you in the mood for??
ME: I already told you. I'll eat whatever.
DH: With an eye-roll that he thinks I do not see he goes and randomly picks 2 restaurant menus. He says we will toss a coin and if it is heads we will do Legal Seafood and if it is tails we will do The Cheesecake Factory. We will do whichever one it lands on. Agreed. Agreed I say.
ME: Is there one of those that you would prefer I ask him before his tosses the coin.
DH: No, I really could go for anything.
ME: Ok nap boy, I mean DH flip that coin and let's get to step'n
DH: Flips coin and it's heads. So I guess we are doing Legals he says.
ME: Ok
At this point he looks at me and I look at him and we know. Because see we used to be mind readers in a past life. Well not really, we have just been living together for 15 years and know each other like that. He says it first.
DH: Do you really want Legals?
ME: Not really.
DH: Good, me neither
ME: So I guess it is the cheesecake factory.
DH: Yup, I guess so.
ME: ~sigh~ Yup, I guess.
The look happens again.
DH: Do you really want the cheesecake factory?
ME: Not really.
DH: Good, me neither.
ME: So where are we going to eat then?
DH: I don't know, do you have any ideas?
ME: How about we do the Chinese place where they cook at your table?
DH: I thought you said no b/c of the mouse droppings?
ME: DUH, that report was from Indiana. Not here! Now come on mister "can't make up my mind" get your coat on before we have to pick up the kids from your parents house!

So just for a second, imagine how the discussion goes on where to eat at Disney. Imagine how long it goes on. Good times, good times I tell ya.

But since I am a true Disney fan I find a way to do it. I use a complicated system for figuring what restaurants would be best for us. The system I use has to deal with the alignment of the planets on the 180/90 day mark compared to the star aligments on the days of travel, compared to the farmers alminac for the weather that week and divide it by the number of good -vs- bad posts the restaurant got on here and then about 12 seconds of doing this system I remember that I stink at math, I know nothing about stars, planets and there alignments and I don't even own a Farmer's Alminac. So I use plan B. We let each of the kids pick one restaurant(then if it is a bad meal that night DH and I can say "Wow, The Baby picked a really crappy place to eat. If I had to pick I would have neeeeeeever chose that one." For the other meals, DH and I start flipping coins to decide. Let me tell you, that is REALLY GOOD TIMES!!

So the time came to call our TA and have her make our meal arrangments. :cool1::cool1: Here is where and when we are eating.

Day 1: Arrival DAY!! Chef Mickey @ 5:30! We do Chef Mickey on the first night of each trip. We are doing this meal with my uncle, his wife and kids~I need to find a name for them~this should be pretty fun! We have always done this meal alone so doing it with them should be a good time. Not going for the food or the possible spreading of the swine flu in the buffet line. Just going for the fun.

Day 2: Whispering Canyon @ 5:00. This meal will just be us. We ate there once when we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and were not impressed at all. :sad2:It did not live up to the "craziness" that I had been reading about and looking forward to. The only "trick" our waiter did was come over and throw some straws at us. Now, not throwing the straws in a "ha ha this is the whispering canyon ya'll ready for a good time" type of throw. It was more of a throw that made me "want to pick up the straws, throw them back at him, smack him in the head with one of the pony sticks and tell him get back in the kitchen and lets start this party all over again" type of throw. Plus, Mr. I Love My Job had no idea about what was going on in "his" hotel. We were staying Club Level and he tells us how it must be beautiful up there b/c they had just redone every single room on that floor and he could not wait to go up there some day and see how nice the rooms came out. I politly gave a smile and after taking a minute to hope that he was a little more up on his Disney knowledge in the real world where he was not inhaling pixie dust all day, I just said..yes, they are. Now the rooms were NOT redone! They had redone the Club level lounge! So since Walt was not sending me a check for training his staff I let Mr. Disney Facts keep his misinformation and chuckled inside thinking about the day someone stops him and says "what the heck are you talking about? Don"t you know what goes on in your own hotel??" Hey pal, next time watch how you coc.k your wrist when you throw my straws and maybe I will give you some info that might keep you from some embarrassment later in life. But anyway, the kids really want to go back to the lodge to reflect on the days that we stayed there. Yeah, their sentimental like that. So we will go back and give it another try. Not going for the food. Going to relive some great memories. The Lodge was our first trip to Disney as a family so I guess it will always have that special place in our hearts.

Day 3. Coral Reef @ 12:05. The Oldest picked this one as his choice. We ate there when we went during our grand gathering trip. The Oldest loved the lobster soup and the mahi-mahi. Now, he does not like lobster in the real world so when he ordered it I was HAPPY:woohoo: b/c I could already see the look on his face when he took the first bite and instantly gagged and said "can I get some fruit, that is gross." Well guess who was smoking the pixie dust that day. Yup, The Oldest! They brought his soup and I got my spoon ready to take the soup from him as he pushed it aside. So all doped up on pixie dust he takes a bite and says "this is sooooo good Ma, you should have got this." He gave me 1 bite. Just enough to know that I loved it and made a mistake on my appertizer choice. He still laughs about it all the time about how I was waiting to eat his lobster soup and he ate it all. Yes he knows I thought I was going to get his. I could hear DH whispering to him about it and The Boy said "oh so that's why she is sitting under the table tying his shoe laces to his chair." Don't judge me unless you've had the lobster soup! So last time we had dinner, this time trying lunch.

Day 4: This is our "free day." We are having a late breakfast at Boma. It always makes me chuckle when I plan a "free day" or read that others have a scheduled "free day." I laugh b/c we are on vacation so they should all be "free days" but it is like we go to Disney and take a one day (free day) vacation day. LOL The whole family voted for Boma for a late breakfast. We ate there for breakfast on the last day of our last trip. It was the best breakfast we have had at Disney. I only took one sip of the "special juice" that they pour for you though. See they don't tell you everything that is in it so I have no idea which Disney drug they dropped in there. I have no idea if it is the "I neeeeed to go shopping and buy tons of character shirts drug" or the "Maybe we should go back to the room and read that bounce back flyer and book another trip for next year drug" or the " This 29 day trip to disney was not long enough. Next time we have to stay longer drug" or the ULTIMATE drug of drugs. The one that people whisper about. The one that once you take it once they have set it up so you will keep coming back, sometimes more then once a year, just to keep getting all the other drugs they are selling. The drug that makes people put special pictures in their siggy. Yes people the "DVC DRUG!!" Now I may have drank a whole glass of the juice and risked getting the ULTIMATE drug pumped into my body fully aware that once you get that drug, there is no turning back. Your a lifer. But I only took one sip b/c DH didn't want any of the juice. Now what if I got the "ULTIMATE" one and DH got nothing. What kind of scene would that be? Me all drugged up screaming and hollering while running around the hotel looking for the DVC people with Dh trying to calmly tell me we are not buying DVC. After I question him if he is really a alien from another planet pretending to be a disney loving human he would know that my drink was spiked and he would take out the needle and give me a shot to calm me down. I know it sounds harsh but I have seen the store video taps at the Magic Kingdom and what I looked like after I got the "I neeeeeeed to go shopping and buy tons of character t-shirts" drug. So even though it may look harsh to see me getting a shot and even though you might feel bad when he is pushing my sleeping body back to the room in the babies stroller but don't worry it is for my own good. Just remember. I saw the tapes. So We have an ADR for 10:45.

Day 5: Tony's @ 11:45. This was DH pick. We have never eaten there so there are no expectations that it has to live up to. Plus since we have never eaten there, there is also nothing to write about it. YAY, that was real fun.

Day 6: 1900 Park Square @ 4:30. This is another meal we will be having with "the not yet named family." Again have never been to this meal. And again it should be fun to have this meal with Kim and her crew.

Day 7: Crystal Palace @ 12:15 and Ohana at 7:00. These 2 were my picks. We all really like C.P but we LOVE Ohana. Not sure if we will do both or just go with the flow and decide that day which one we are in the mood for. Don't worry though. If I decide that we are not going to eat at one of them I will call and cancel. I mean I do not want to offened anyone b/c it would be nice to have people read my trip report when I get back.

Day 8: Leaving today.:sad1: Eating sadness as our vacation is over and we have to leave. Followed by a chaser of jealousy at all the people that are arriving that day. I swear the people checking in that day always give me that poor pitiful look that says......oh that stinks that your trip is over while ours is just about to begin. Hey kids look! Those poor kids have to go to school next week but not my beautiful babies that will be enjoying rides and swimming. Bu-by now. Have fun going back to reality. Now get to step'n so we can use your room. Sometime I try not to look at the people arriving so I do not have to listen to the silent message they are sending me with their eyes. Sometimes I can not help but look. Those time I do look and the message they are trying to send is coming in loud and clear I look right back and send my own message. Oh yeah, well ..............you..! And then I grab my kids by the hand and loudly say "come on kids we need to get going b/c the CDC is on the way to decide if they should close the parks since everyone is getting sick." Then I take one big inhale of pixie dust before I get in the car so I will feel nice and calm on the ride to the airport.:hippie:

Up Next: Not sure what the next post will be about. Gotta think about that one.

FLipping a coin for a decision? Who woulda thunk it? I always did the planet/stars alignment with the farmers almanac method you mentioned, I too stink at math and maybe that is why my restaurant choices have not always been the best.

I laughed my hind end off reading this post, no worries though, it's growing back as I type this one.

Keep it up girl, this PTR is hilarious.

I joined just to tell you you are a nut!! LOL :lmao:
Good board, you have some followers and plenty to read.
We do the same thing with dinner all the time, it's so annoying. I wish someone would just cook for me every day and I would just eat what they gave me as long as I don't have to think about it, cook it or clean it up.
It's almost Disney time! 25 more days!

I'm new to the disboard. I know I can change my title underneath my name, but what am I? I've been twice, going a 3rd time at the end of the month.

Thanks,

your tossing a coin trick is too funny! I go through that with my bf all the time, the deciding where to eat thing. I'm a picky eater so i always get stuck deciding where to eat though! When in doubt, I always suggest a generic place, like 99 or Applebees...anyways, love your plans. They look really good! What parks are you going to on which days? Whichever ones you are eating in? Or wherever the wind takes you?

See I knew that flipping the coin trip was an original so that is why I decided it was time to let the rest of the world in on it. Yeah, I know, I know :worship::worship: Woo-Hoo another planet/star/aligment/almanac disney dinning planner!! Yeah, it wasn't working to well for us so that is why we got the kids involved in picking. Have to be able to blame the bad meal on somebody. :rotfl:
How's your hind end doing today? Did you get it all back?:rotfl2:

Posters and Lurkers I would like to introduce you to the ~No named family~ Otherwise known as my uncle and wife and two boys. Or our trip partners. I really need to get a name for you guys Kim. I do not want to have to keep typing my uncle, his wife and their two sons every time I mention you guys. Yeah, I'm lazy like that. Do you know what a few extra strokes on a keyboard can do to you?!?!?!

I'm new to the disboard. I know I can change my title underneath my name, but what am I? I've been twice, going a 3rd time at the end of the month.

Thanks,

Actually you can't change the title under your name. When you hit a certain number (I think the first is 100 posts) of posts the computer changes your title under you name. Anybody know what the next amount of posts has to be after the first 100 to get a new "title?" What I am wondering is who/how do some of you get those funny saying under your name?? I see lots of people with those funny "quotes", some have more then 1 but then I see lots of people with none. What is the trick to that one? :confused3

The good ole coin toss. Gotta love it!! It fails every time! :rotfl: Good to know that my DH and I are not the only ones with restaurant decision making issues. I have to say thank you b/c I have been stumped on what to write about next and you gave me the answer!! :worship: I will write about our "touring plans!!!" Thank-you,thank-you,thank-you

Hey there, great to see you've added to your ptr! :thumbsup2 Been busy here, DS11 turned 12, thus parties and all. And, I'm pretty sure the attitude that was SUPPOSED to materialized when he turned 13, showed up a year early. :sad2: We have great kids overall, just sayin' that we have our moments. ;)

Anyhoo, back to your ADR's ....

All of your choices are new to me except for 'Ohana & Chef Mickey. Would that be the 'Ohana breakfast or dinner? We've been to the Character Breakfast 2x and the dinner 1x. LOVE the breakfast, dinner not so much. SO much meat! Chef Mickey's is fun! We try to begin and end our vacations with character meals.

Your coin flipping sounds like us at home too. Usually I have DH pick 2 places and then I pick from those or vice versa. But on vacation ....

When it comes to going out for dinner, in theory, it would be great to have a democracy. In REALITY it just does not work. I learned a while ago that when it comes to vacation planning and meal choosing, it is just best for me to accept my dictatorship role and choose EVERYTHING. Mind you, they don't always realize that I am making all of the decisions, but don't be fooled, I am. :lmao:

I know their likes, their dislikes, I know how long they can go without eating/drinking. I know how much time they'll devote to eating and then want to get back on the rides. Before I sit down to make the Master Plan, we do talk about past restaurants we've visited, but in the end it's just easier for me to chose -- based on the area we'll be in and menus from allearsnet.com. I am proud to say that we ate cheeseburgers only once and not a single chicken nugget! (BTW, we had the counter service meal plan and paid OOP for 2 table services -- actually we used the bonus $200 gift card that was part of our package in January). Sitting down for meals on a daily basis does not work for this bunch.

I laughed at your Day 8 ... or rather laughed/cried/sad heart .... I feel your pain already! We usually leave early in the a.m. for the airport so we haven't had to face many people coming in .... but the night before when we are using up snack credits in the gift shop, I start to see "those" faces.

A funny story from our last trip ... we were scurrying about using snack credits/shopping/eating on the last night at Pop Century and this lady approached me in the lobby. Her daughter had lost a tooth and she needed someone to play "tooth fairy" by writing a postcard. She knew her daughter would know her handwriting, so she asked me to write it. Evidently her daughter had been asking all kinds of questions, so we answered her Q's in the postcard (yes, the tooth fairy lives near Santa, no you can't keep your teeth, etc). It was adorable! She picked up a few pressed pennies and a trinket or two from the gift shop and went back to her sleeping child. That was fun -- and since my boys were with me they thought is was especially cool that Mom played "Tooth Fairy" for someone else's child! pixiedust:

Have a wonderful Mother's Day!!!! :flower3:

Hi Lisa! :yay:

Hope all is well there and that you will be continuing your PTR! I'm looking forward to reading more!
