I keep checking rates and they keep dropping! That's the great news. I am currently holding res. with Alamo/Budget/Dollar and they're all within a dollar of each other ($113 for 5 days).

Is there a clear cut advantage to one company over the other at MCO? One thing I did note was the Alamo and Budget both provide one additional driver (my DH in this case) free of charge.
Our flight gets in right around midnight and I'm hoping that crowds aren't an issue at that time of night...

Any opinions out there?

 Confused as always!

Out of the three, I think Dollar is the best.
They seem to have the fewest complaints on these boards. I've used them several times with ease. :)

I think a second driver w/o a charge is a major plus. Otherwise one person is stuck driving the whole time. ::yes::

Some agencies close down at midnight (or 11 PM).

You probably can rely on the hours stated in the rental company's policies/rules page but calling ahead won't hurt.

Also some companies reserve the right to require you to purchase their colliwion coverage if you don't have collision on your own car and bring proof of that.

All 3 agencies I'm considering are open 24/7 at MCO.

I'll check into the collision coverage thing but it's never been an issue in the past...thanks!

What size car are you getting for $113, and does that include all the extra charges and taxes? I too have a Dollar ressie for 5 days. I used the MAG code found on http://www.rentalcodes.com/ and got a base rate of $105 for an intermediate and a total of $127.94. If you go with Dollar be sure to sign up for Fastlane. It lets you bypass all lines, but they will also send you a coupon good for a free one class upgrade. (I plan to use mine to upgrade to full size on our trip in Nov.)

Hi ncbyrne!

When I originally booked the cars, the base rate was $109 and then with all the taxes and surcharges it came up to $141.
Just yesterday or the day before however, I checked again and the rates for the same car (4 door compact) was down to $89 which translates to $113. after all the taxes and surcharge.

Now I did sign up for the Budget fastbreak program but was told the first time I use it (which will be at MCO in Nov) that I cannot bypass the counter because they have to verify all my info and check my id the first time! I should probably check to see if that's the case w/Dollar as well. I'm hoping that with either program, even if I can't bypass the counter, there might at least be a second line for those w/fastbreak, fastlane etc...membership. I have no idea how crowded the rental car counters will be at midnight on a Sunday night when we arrive though...

If you join Dollar's Fastlane, you don't by pass the counter, but they do have a seperate counter line just for Fastlane members. And since they already have all of your information, it's a very speedy process. We check the rates at all of the MCO car rental agencies and most often Dollar has the best deals. We have never had a problem using them.
