I hate not having any Disney Loving Single Friends! Who have money to travel.....:rotfl:

Got a pin code that offers 40% off deluxe resorts.

I'm now toying with a solo trip next December (the pin starts on Dec 11th).

If I was being responsible I'd book a moderate resort at 30% off with the pin but I just love disney deluxe resorts.

I'm thinking I could swing the WL at 40% off but I really want to stay at either the Yacht Club, the Boardwalk or the Grand Floridian.

Paying the room rates - even with 40% off - for a single person is a little tough to swallow.

Hey Trisha,

First, I must say, it is finally nice to see a neighbor on here. We are very close to each other!!

Second, I am in the same boat as you. I LOVE going to Disney. LOVE it. BUT can't seem to get any of my friends, or even family to come with me. I can drag my mom out sometimes, but she also needs to vacation with my dad (really, what's with that).

I got a pin for this year as well, and would love to spend it on a deluxe resort, should be on a moderate.... hey, I would love to go every year but can't really afford to by myself.

I'm hoping my mom will be able to make the trip to Disney with me this year. We are aiming for November, when she prefers to go. If not, I am hoping to go in December as well. It won't be the Deluxe resort, not this year anyway.

It would be great to meet up if we are there the same time!!!!! Nice to get to know a DISer so close to home:):)

Hi Jennifer.

The funny thing is I have no shortage of people wanting to go with me to WDW, it's finding someone who is willing to pay their own way!

I take my parents on at least 1 vacation a year (most times it's WDW but last year and this year, it's a DCL cruise pirate:). It's great to have the company, and although expensive, I feel like I can justify the costs since it's for 3 of us.

For my 35 birthday, I took my BFF (friend since I was 15). She was in the middle of a divorce (they've actually since reconcilled) and I knew she couldn't afford it so I picked up the tab but I'm not really willing to do that again.

I'm still uncertain as to what I'm going to do. :confused3 It's like for other people, I'm willing to spend the money but I'm having a tough time justifying to myself that I can spend that same amount of money if it's just for me.

Love this answer.

You must learn to be able to treat yourself as you would treat others. There are plenty of Disney loving people in the area to hang with if you need us, but this trip should be about you.

Hey Trisha .... I used to work in Scarborough (city planning dept) until we moved south. I work with a group of women - most are married - that are always going on girl friend trips. Why limit yourself to single friends? We've all had the Disney conversation at work or with friends neighbors family .... It starts off with a mention and folks either roll their eyes (too bad for them) get all excited (because they "get it") or have a quizical look on their face. Why not 'go fishing' at work and see if there are folks who you enjoy who might take the Disney bait???

And the last time I looked ... WL is the least expensive of the delux resorts so there is a bargain already. We've stayed at both WL and BWI and the Boardwalk location is awesome for adults or solos. Just this Grandpa's 2 cents (1.89 Canadian).
