I have never seen more people in this town wearing Pittsburg gear after the superbowl. In Cleveland! It's sooooo annoying.

Now, I know that not all of these people are really front runners. My dad has been a Steelers fan his whole life. (the jerk ;)) I know plenty of closet fans are just showing their true colors now that their team won the game. But if you don't have the guts to wear it when they stink, then you shouldn't be wearing it now...in Cleveland. :p

I work with the public and see many faces on a daily/weekly basis that I have never seen wear so much as a pin, completely decked out head to toe.

We get it. You're team won, our team is terrible. Thanks. If you really do care, support your teams all the time, not just when they win on the biggest stage.

Okay, I feel a little better now. Thanks for letting me vent.:thumbsup2

(But if I see a major influx of Cavs stuff in the near future, it'll start all over.;) )

I'm amazed at the number of people from other areas that are Steelers fans!

I'm not. They've been a good team for a long time, with some very likeable players.

It honestly doesn't matter what the team is. It's just particularly hard that it's them.

When the Pats won, there were Pats fans everywhere all of a sudden. It drives me nuts.

My Dad, the BIGGEST Browns fan ever would completely agree with you! He has always said that you have to love your team - in good times and bad. (Has Cleveland ever HAD any good times? ;) )

He is surrounded by people who became Steeler fans during their glory days of the '70s. But he is so proud to say that he has NEVER been a fair weather fan.

or maybe the jumped on the bandwagon!

Same thing right? You jump on a bandwagon because something is popular and the team is winning. Which means their frontrunners.
Either way, arg!! ;)

lol Yep, back before there was a Superbowl, the Browns were a dynasty. They won a bunch of championships, including the last one before it became the Superbowl.

My dad is one that became a fan during the 70s. So I guess he was a frontrunner back then! But he's stuck with them since, so :confused3 Not that they've really been as bad as the Browns since then.

You and my brother would get along great. He calls them Bandwagon fans. He went to NC State so obviously he doesn't like Carolina, but what drives him nuts is all the people wearing Carolina stuff everywhere, and the fact that you can walk into Wal-Mart and find two NC State items and a hundred Carolina items. There's no way that all of these people went to Carolina, or ever knew anyone who went to Carolina. They're bandwagon fans. It seems like the cool winning team to be fans of. If you go out to Monroe, NC where Sooooooooooooo many illegal Mexicans live, you'll see half of them wearing Carolina gear, and he's like What the heck!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

This made me laugh yesterday at their parade, notice they aren't helping the guy they are taking his picture!! He tried to climb up on that shack to get a better view and fell off :rotfl2: Why there is a shack in downtown Pitts is another thread entirely!!

I think this is because a lot of people, including our family, had to move away from Pittsburgh in order to find jobs. All of those people who moved away because of the economy (Steel Mills, etc.) brought their passion for the Steelers to where they had to move to in order to find work.

If that was the only factor, I would think you'd see a lot more Detriot Lions fans out there... :scared:

DH is a huge Steelers fan! He grew up in Canton! He never liked the Browns. Go figure.

Whenever we go to Canton, I always see lots of people wearing Steelers stuff!

I'm surprised to hear there are so many folks in Cleveland wearing our colors. I always thought it was against the law to live in Cleveland and be a Steelers fan and that anyone caught wearing Black & Gold got tossed into the lake. :rotfl2:
