I've been trolling for airfare for our next WDW trip in April. Watching prices, times, connections. So, yesterday airfare went down ever so little but the times and connections changed too. There were more connections and the times we all different and were terrible. I check it out today, like I do just about everyday and sure enough it went up again and all the better times and connections are now posted. UGH!

Keep checking back!

When you see something you like (taking into account schedule, too) then book.

Travelocity offers a spreadsheet listing, all on one page, many different selections. However, to reduce hassles in the event the airline makes a change, it is better to go directly to the individual airline's website to make the booking.

Actually, except for busy times like Wednesday before Thanksgiving to Sunday after Thanksgiving, it is better to wait for a sale instead of buying at their everyday low price.

In general, booking early for the sake of booking early is not a good strategy.

Where do you live? Depending on this, you can play the ultimate game of getting the lowest fare. Wait. If nothing comes along then you drive down instead of fly.

Sandy I would check the trains.... Depending where your going.............the train rides are longer but its a nice ride, watching the country side go by, food onboard............It really is a good possibility.:thumbsup2

Are you willing to fly to Tampa? We found much better flights and rates just by going to Tampa. It's a little bit of a longer drive, but was well worth it to us just for the better flights. Not to mention, Tampa's airport is so much better than MCO!

If Sandy's name indicates that she lives in Monterey, CA, that would be quite a loooong train trip. It's about an 89 hour trip from San Francisco, and that's not counting the usual Amtrak delays, plus part of the trip is by bus, :sad1: The cheapest one way fare (checked for December; April prices may differ) would be $318.00. It would be cheaper to fly.

Are you sure you weren't looking at the wrong info yesterday? I only ask because I do it all the time...I'll be like "ooooh, flights went way down!!!" and then I realize I've looking up MCO to ORD instead of ORD to MCO, or something like that, lol. It seems highly unlikely that all the connecting flights would change from one day to the next--those flights are set months in advance and don't tend to largely from day to day.

Good luck in your search, I know it's brutal right now! We are flying free on SW but I'm trying to find good flights/fare for my friend for our February trip and it's insane!

Yes, I live in Monterey. We like that the Monterey Peninsula Airport is so close and so easy. None of those really long TSA lines. When looking to fly out of SFO or SJC it's actually more! We've done that in the past but have to factor in staying at hotel and leaving car. Right now that doesn't add up to any savings. I'm sure about the change in times and stops. I thought I may have been wrong in the past so I started writing it all down. Checked airfare today and it went up another $30. I will keep checking back, I troll for airfare everyday. I'm just hoping for a score, like when we went to Hawaii for $391 and it was over $700. I know the airlines are a business and businesses need to make money but they get us with the baggage fees, increase fares and everything else. We pay more but get a lot less. The airlines don't hesitate to raise prices when gas prices go up. Gas prices in my area are the lowest they've been in a long time....why hasn't airlines followed?

We are taking a train next week from NC to FL. It takes a while longer but is much CHEAPER than flying. Plus, I'm scared to death of an airplane, that's the main reason we are taking the train.

I understand your frustration! I looked up flights for my August flight Tuesday morning, and they were relatively cheap. 15 hours later, they went up 600 dollars! So crazy! I don't understand the way airlines work!
