I happen to have the privilege: listening to some very ungrateful young people today

Blondie, be honest. It was always a thread about trashing young people in general - read what you wrote above. That's your own opinion, and you don't have to apologize for it, but let's not pretend that it's anything other than what it is.

You are right, I don't have to apologize for it!

And to be honest, as you put it, it wasn't a post with the sole intent on bashing every single person in the 18-22 age group, but ah, yes....you possee people always seem to know what is going on inside everyone else's head, don't ya!

Look up your children my DIS friends, the 18-22 age group possee has arrived!

I in NO way believe this is a reflection of all young people. I also think we all know the point of this thread but let's not forget that a lot of us have been guilty of "generalizing" when referring to a particular group of people, DISers, CBers, SAHM's, etc. IMHO, nothing is worse than working in an office with a lot of middle-aged women (talk about mean ;) )

This is very sad and I also hope this couple didn't hear what was said. :(

This whole thread just makes me very sad :( . It would be a far better world if we can agree to disagree. Attacking is not our friend.

As the youngest one in my work place (and no I am not in the 18-22 year old possee  ), I can say that some of the middle-age women I work with are very judgmental and dislike me just based on my age.

Want to know something Miss Jasmine, my favorite people at work are the nurses/techs/cna's who fall into the 18-22 year age group!

They are fun, not afraid of getting their hands dirty, and usually don't have any baggage (divorces, step-kids, etc.) I've learned a few things from them, as well as them learning a few things from us "middle aged women!":D

Oops! I see a need for a disclaimer!!!!

**There is nothing wrong with being divorced or having step-kids!**

I am just glad so many are pissed off and not pissed on. Dislike piss all over the CB.

That is just your opinion Dan! ;)

I think several of us have already been pissed on, don't you?

Not that this is a pissing contest or anything!

**disclaimer**

No offense meant to those who enjoy the occaisional pee contest, or enjoy peeing on others, you know who you are.

Like I said, I am not in that age group, I am 28 almost 29 (YIKES) and I do have some of that "baggage", but I don't think of it that way.

And you are right there is much to learn from each other, no matter the age. Some of the biggest lessons we learn come from our KIDS. lol

I think that some of the divisions between age groups have occured because there is less emphasis on extended families, we don't get to know our different aged relatives as well as others have in the past when families lived together or close to each other. We are a society on the move and often live away from our relatives.

My point was that "generalizing" is done by a lot of us. Yes, I did it by referring to "middle-aged women" but in my work place, it is true.... oh and I AM one
