I had to do it!

For the last couple of nights around midnight, the "sometimes" neighbors across the hall go out into the parking lot and shoot off these loud whistling fireworks. I say "sometimes" neighbors because there is NOTHING in their apartment, but they will come back once in awhile to have a bunch of friends over and be loud.

The first night it went off, they shot some over our heads as we were walking in with groceries, and it scared the heck out of us. Next night, they were shooting them off at 2 a.m.

Last night, I'd had enough. When they started shooting them off, I went to the window and yelled, "CUT THAT (BLEEP) OUT! PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO SLEEP!!!"

Of course, it was quiet after that. Stupid people. Sheesh! Normally I wouldn't yell at them, but come on! It's not the 4th of July, and it's just plain rude to wake up other people.

I feel your pain. Our downstairs neighbors whom we can't stand and whom the landlord is trying to evict, had their 19 year old daughter and her partner over the other night and at 10:30 they were out in the backyard having a loud party (on a Thursday).

None of the people who lived there were there, just the two girls. They were out in our backyard, drinking, smoking pot and lighting fires in their mother's kiln. THEN to make matters worse, they had the girl whose mother lives here's 2 year old daughter (all 4 of their mom's kids have different dads ) out with them, in the dark, climbing on her jungle gym.

Chris ended up calling the landlord, who refuses to take action because he is in his late 80's and insists that everything is fine. He asked them to leave the yard and of course, they just laughed at him.

Chris threatened to call the cops. They finally left before he did.

I'm more afraid of them burning our neighborhood down from those things - pine trees go up pretty quick this time of year around here! It doesn't help that I have a terrified dog either.

My dogs were always terrible at 4th of July....many years ago I just started sedating them (vets advise) on July 4th...we have a new dog now and the vet already gave me the pill to give him to keep him calm that day.

Could you come north and do the same thing?? We have next door neighbors who, when it is hot/muggy, stay indoors all day long, in the central a/c. Then when the sun goes down, they come out and hit the pool. Yelling, screaming...as if it were noon!!! We finally put a window a/c unit in my dd's window so that the noise wouldn't keep her up. We call them the 'vampires' since you never see them during the day. So, I have no problem yelling at rude neighbors.

Some people can be so rude. We had a neighbor that would come home from work at 2:00am and then begin to party with his friends. We would call the leasing office and they would tell us they know because other people would complain, but the office would do nothing about it. Finally when I would wake up to go to work and I would know he was sleeping I would pound on the roof of my apartment to wake him up. Finally he was evicted.

Your alot nicer then me. I would of skipped the yelling and called the police. 4th of July is a nice holiday and all but people seem to forget that people have to sleep and work in the morning and let fireworks off at all hours of the night.
