The Junior League has a thrift sale every year that takes up the entire lower level of the Civic Center Arena. They get donated items and sell like a big garage sale. Admission is $5, and if you prebuy you get in line before those walking up to buy this morning. So at 9:00 I was about 50th in line to get in at 10:00. They have a lot of really nice stuff, furniture, housewares, books, anything you can think of (except adult clothing for some reason). They also had some junk. So here is what I got:
2 hardcover Harry Potter books
8 paperbacks
1 Harry Potter DVD-Special Edition
1 sandwich grill-new in the box
1 1000 piece puzzle (hoping all the pieces are there!)
4 new rolls of good quality birthday wrapping paper
1 vegetable steamer-new in package
1 26" Panasonic TV in great working condition w/remote-for our Wii.
1 dog bed for our old boy Wylie
Everything I picked out was in great condition. All for $85+the admission fee. I think I did pretty well, and it was great fun. I was there for 2-1/2 hours.
