at the grocery store. I was pushing the cart down the main isle, and from around the corner comes a toddler at full speed and headin' towards me!

THe cart was not full so I could stop it quick, and was actually going backwards when the impact occurred.

the little girl's big brown eyes looked up at me saying, "what are you doing in my way" at the same time as doing that introspective... "am I hurt? Should I cry?" But she didn't. Shook it off like a trooper, who at this point was kind of glad she was not getting yelled at for running in the store...

Luckily the mom caught enough of the action to know I didn't ram her....

No insurance info was traded. No police report.

Glad the little one wasn't hurt. Sounds like you did all you could to minimize the impact.

A friend's 13 month old daughter recently had her head split open when a gentleman reached over her for a can of tuna at Walmart. Six cans fell and the rim of one caught her just so. Of course the head wound was bleeding quite a bit, little girl is screaming, new mom is distressed, trying to comfort the daughter and searching for tissue to stop the bleeding. The man picked up the cans from the floor and walked away - no apology, nothing. Five stitches later and the girl has a scar on her forehead which the doctors think will be permanent.

My 2.5 yo niece leapt off the couch and landed in my lap...I swear to God she landed knees first. She may have been trying to kill me.

On second thought, she looked pretty concerned when I wailed in pain. Maybe she wasn't trying to kill me.

Toddlers are dumb little things. They do dumb stuff. No ability to think ahead, always surprised by very predictable outcomes.

If they aren't too tired, they usually do shake it off and move on.

And they're sorry when they hurt you, even if they get over it quickly. They get over everything quickly...all part of the wacky and wonderful world of toddlers. :)
