I guess I'm rope dropping IASW! ~ A March 2024 TR Update with new TR link 09/02

Once I had candy acquired, I headed back to my room for a rest and costume change. I decided to wear my favourite Orange Bird dress with all the accessories tonight although I guess I really should have worn it to F&G. Next time!

On the way to the Skyliner I met an awesome group of women who were there celebrating their 70th birthdays together. They were vivacious, stylish and outgoing and I really enjoyed meeting them. They also planted seeds in my head for 12 years down the road. I know I will still want to be in my happy place when I am 70. And hopefully have as much fun as those lovely ladies!

I arrived at DHS just after 7:00 with two goals in mind; some photopass pictures and time to explore One Man's Dream. I love this tribute to Walt and the journey he took to create what we love and enjoy today.

I only spent about 45 minutes in DHS tonight but it was enough time to accomplish what I wanted. Feeling happy with the day's events, I hopped on the Skyliner back to CBR and made a beeline to Banana Cabana where my lovely friend Kathy was working. She poured me a wicked Mai Tai and I ordered the queso with beef and chips. It was a perfect wind down meal after a busy day.

Officially park number three!

Wow, you're moving right along. That Green on your shirt really pops.

Of course I had to get a picture with the best new topiary at the F&G festival. Could Groot be any cuter?
IMG_5242.JPEG

I'm so sorry I missed seeing this. Did you hear the music while you were there?

Feeling full and happy with three out of three choices being outstanding,

Great snack choices.

I know I will still want to be in my happy place when I am 70. And hopefully have as much fun as those lovely ladies!

Me too!

Congrats and your looking fabulous in your Orange Bird outfit.

I ended the night watching some of Luminous from the beach by my room. It was the perfect end to an amazing day.

What a great day!

Officially park number three!
You’re on a roll!!!
I hit up Spaceship Earth as it's one of my favourite classic attractions
I love SE. It reminds me of my dad every single time I ride it. My mum and dad visited once ( they got free flights from buying a Hoover of all things) back in 1995. My dad loved SE and said it was his favourite ride of the whole trip. He also “enjoyed the craic with Goofy”.😂. His words not mine. I miss that man so much ❤️
Could Groot be any cuter?
Nope.
No picture on GotG today but I got one of my missing songs, "I Ran" by Flock of Seagulls. I only had one song missing now, "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears
How many times have you riden GotG? Gotta love Tears for Fears. Hoping you get it next time for the full set of songs.
It was definitely snack o'clock at this point
You really did get some delicious snacks. They all look so tasty.
Who knew there were so many different kinds of KitKats?
Me! I did :rotfl:We have loads of different kitkat flavours and sizes here. Two finger bars, 4 finger bars, chunky, snack size, bite size , the list goes on ( and on). Next time I’m grocery shopping I will count them all as I never really thought about it until now. Still no Tootsie Rolls though 😢

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:You did it!!!
What a fabulous photo of you! You look fantastic!

I ended the night watching some of Luminous from the beach by my room. It was the perfect end to an amazing day.
Perfect ending to a wonderful day. Simply perfect:love:

Yay you did it, 4 parks! Something you and I couldn’t quite do, lol 😝 may have been all the libations the night before. :rotfl:
I love the orange bird dress and accessories!

Of course I had to get a picture with the best new topiary at the F&G festival. Could Groot be any cuter?
We missed this topiary. We'll have to make a return visit next year. :)
My choice was the seasonal fruit parfait with mango Dole Whip (Seasonal Fruit Parfait with sweet chili sauce and DOLE Whip Mango). This was fantastic but HUGE! I couldn't manage to finish it all.
This is a version that I might like, as long as it doesn't have pineapple in it.
Officially park #4!
Congratulations! Did it help to be at a resort on the Skyliner?

Officially park number three!
I'm shocked they allowed you in wearing a MK shirt.
I've seen people beaten up for less!

No I haven't.

I hit up Spaceship Earth as it's one of my favourite classic attractions. Does anyone have an idea of when they are going to do the refurbishment on it?
I took a quick Google around and didn't see anything.
I always enjoy Dame Judy Dench with her beautiful narration.
She does a nice job... just ask the Phoenicians!
I'm not a big topiary fan... but I like this one. :)
I only had one song missing now, "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" by Tears for Fears and one opportunity to ride the next day. Would I make it and close in on my song collection goal? What do you think?
I'm gonna say... yes. :)
It was definitely snack o'clock at this point
 I like that. I might steal it.
I headed off to to Trowel and Trellis to get the Impossible meatball (Farmhouse Meatball with lentil bread, spinach, marinated vegetables, and creamy herb aïoli). This was a huge hit in my books with a great flavour profile.
Huh! I've had hits and misses with impossible dishes. Glad this was a good one.
I strolled up for China next as I knew I wanted the chicken satay with spicy peanut sauce (Spicy Mala Chicken Skewer with creamy peanut sauce). The chicken was juicy and tender and the spices and creamy peanut sauce worked really well together.
I never order anything with peanut sauce. I have to be a bit careful with it. Just not worth possibly spoiling a vacation over it.
My choice was the seasonal fruit parfait with mango Dole Whip (Seasonal Fruit Parfait with sweet chili sauce and DOLE Whip Mango).
That sounds really interesting. I'd definitely try it... although... I tend to try and avoid anything Dole Whip as I kinda like to keep that as a MK treat.
Who knew there were so many different kinds of KitKats?
I knew there were... lots. :)
I decided to wear my favourite Orange Bird dress with all the accessories tonight although I guess I really should have worn it to F&G. Next time!
I like the dress. I need a shirt like that in my life, I'm thinking.
On the way to the Skyliner I met an awesome group of women who were there celebrating their 70th birthdays together. They were vivacious, stylish and outgoing and I really enjoyed meeting them.
One of the best parts of Disney is how meeting people and striking up conversations is so easy.
They also planted seeds in my head for 12 years down the road. I know I will still want to be in my happy place when I am 70.
Whoops! Typo there. You accidentally wrote "12 years" instead of "32 years".

Woot! Success!

Wow, you're moving right along. That Green on your shirt really pops.
Thank you! Using the monorail from MK to Epcot made changing parks very easy.
I'm so sorry I missed seeing this. Did you hear the music while you were there?
I did! It was so fun!
Disney for life!
Congrats and your looking fabulous in your Orange Bird outfit.
Thank you so much!
I miss that man so much ❤️
Aww, that's a sweet story. Fathers are so special and it sounds as if the two of you had a really lovely relationship.
How many times have you riden GotG? Gotta love Tears for Fears. Hoping you get it next time for the full set of songs.
Hmmm, I think I'm up to 10 times now. It's my favourite ride ever !
We have the different sizes here but not the different flavours. Jack was in Japan for a month last fall so he really enjoyed sampling all the different Kit Kats there. I think his favourite was the chocolate orange which makes sense as his must have Christmas chocolate is the Terry's chocolate orange.
You did it!!!
What a fabulous photo of you! You look fantastic!
Thank you so much!
Yay you did it, 4 parks! Something you and I couldn’t quite do, lol 😝 may have been all the libations the night before. :rotfl:
I love the orange bird dress and accessories!
Well, the libations did not help us in our quest. Having the 2 pm park hopping restrictions really makes it difficult. Thank you, you know I love my Orange Bird!
We missed this topiary. We'll have to make a return visit next year. :)
Always a reason for another trip!
This is a version that I might like, as long as it doesn't have pineapple in it.
No pineapple at all. The mango is a really good flavour of Dole Whip although I am partial to the coconut and raspberry flavours as well.
Congratulations! Did it help to be at a resort on the Skyliner?
It really helped! Transport was as follows; bus to AK, bus to MK, monorail to Epcot, Skyliner to CBR, Skyliner to DHS, Skyliner to CBR.
I'm shocked they allowed you in wearing a MK shirt.
Right??? I'm a rebel that way!
I'm gonna say... yes. :)
::yes::
 I like that. I might steal it.
Steal away! :)
I never order anything with peanut sauce. I have to be a bit careful with it. Just not worth possibly spoiling a vacation over it.
I wouldn't risk it either. Absolutely not worth it.
That sounds really interesting. I'd definitely try it... although... I tend to try and avoid anything Dole Whip as I kinda like to keep that as a MK treat.
I like classic Dole Whip in MK but other flavours I am happy to enjoy anywhere.
I like the dress. I need a shirt like that in my life, I'm thinking.
Ta da.....

One of the best parts of Disney is how meeting people and striking up conversations is so easy.
Yes!! That has to be one of my favourite things about Disney.
Whoops! Typo there. You accidentally wrote "12 years" instead of "32 years".
Haha, thanks! I'll be 58 on Sunday so yup, 12 years. How did that happen???

A first St Patricks Day at Disney!
(also the last day)

I was up early again and finished packing. A 5 day trip is lovely but it goes by way too fast! After calling Bell Services to take my luggage and Owner's Locker for storage, I decided to head over to Primo Piatto for breakfast. This QS is elevated with food served on proper dishes and brought to your table after ordering. I went for the famous lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes with bacon and they did not disappoint.
IMG_5261.JPEG

Feeling full and satisfied I headed to the Skyliner to hit up Epcot! Arriving at the International Gateway I had a stop to make at Guest Services . I decided to upgrade my 5 day hopper to an AP!

IMG_5262.JPEG
I didn't even look at the final bill....just was happy to see the deduction of the ticket price and a couple of Disney GCs took some of the sting out. With a trip this summer, December and next March, I will wring every drop of value out of it.

I loved all the planters and the butterfly topiary.IMG_5263.JPEG
I was decked out in all my St Patrick's finery.

IMG_5277.JPEG

My goal was to head to the Seas for a visit with the manatees. This is always so special as my oldest son has loved this area since he was little and I have to video Lil Joe and Lou for him each time I see them.
IMG_5269.JPEG

I meandered around the aquarium for a while before heading to Creation Shop in pursuit of the F&G Dooney bag. It was featuring Orange Bird this year so you know I had to have it! Next up was a wonderful performance by the Jammitors when I was on my way to Dreamer's Point.

I grabbed a photo with Walt at Dreamer's Point. This whole area is so restful and relaxing, I just love it. I am so excited to see Epcot with no construction walls this summer!

My last stop of the day was Guardians where I finally got "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" . I screamed in delight and had the best ride experience ever!

I had a lunch reservation coming up at Wine Bar George so headed to the front of the park to grab a Lyft to DS. That's next!

Creation Shop in pursuit of the F&G Dooney bag. It was featuring Orange Bird this year so you know I had to have it!
The Orange Bird merchandise was really cute this year. In fact, I think it was the best merchandise in years. :)

That was lucky to get the final song from GotG. I'm sure that many people struggle to hear them all.

I was decked out in all my St Patrick's finery.
Love it ☘️

Yay! I'm so happy you were able to do the 4 park challenge. And I have to say, you handled it so much better than Alex and I did. :rotfl:

I think celebrating a 70th birthday in WDW with friends sounds amazing. What a fun way to head into your last park of the night.

Those lemon blueberry pancakes look delicious!

Hooray for being an Annual Passholder!!! There's something special about walking into a park, knowing you're an AP. Ours just expired on the 20th, and it was really hard not to renew them.

So excited that you have now gotten all the songs on Guardians. What a magical way to end the trip.

Birthdays are good things...we are on the right side of the grass!
::yes::
The SW pic is hilarious... thank you!
:)
A 5 day trip is lovely but it goes by way too fast!
Try a 4 day... One park per day and out. Lemme tell ya... Those go fast!

Was it your voice on the video or someone else's?
I meandered around the aquarium for a while before heading to Creation Shop in pursuit of the F&G Dooney bag. It was featuring Orange Bird this year so you know I had to have it!
Absolutely. Can't pass that up.
Next up was a wonderful performance by the Jammitors when I was on my way to Dreamer's Point.
I always wonder... first time visitors... All of a sudden some janitors just start jamming... How fun would that be!
I am so excited to see Epcot with no construction walls this summer!
If/when I get back... Oh, Lord... it's been so long seeing Epcot without wall.
Really nice picture of you!
My last stop of the day was Guardians where I finally got "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" . I screamed in delight and had the best ride experience ever!
You got it! :goodvibes

I went for the famous lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes with bacon and they did not disappoint.

That's how I got my first AP too, and upgrade for 5 day hopper passes.

Lovely photo!

My last stop of the day was Guardians where I finally got "Everyone Wants to Rule the World" . I screamed in delight and had the best ride experience ever!

Congrats on completing all the songs.

The Orange Bird merchandise was really cute this year. In fact, I think it was the best merchandise in years. :)
Agreed! I loved it all but my budget would only let me purchase so much!
That was lucky to get the final song from GotG. I'm sure that many people struggle to hear them all.
I was really happy to get all six songs.
Yay! I'm so happy you were able to do the 4 park challenge. And I have to say, you handled it so much better than Alex and I did. :rotfl:
It was a great day. I think having a leisurely morning at AK, then only doing the front of the park at MK, helped a lot. Add in the convenience of staying at a Skyliner resort and I really had it made.
Hooray for being an Annual Passholder!!! There's something special about walking into a park, knowing you're an AP. Ours just expired on the 20th, and it was really hard not to renew them.
It just made sense when we had to postpone Aulani this year. I knew I would want to go in August and Caroline and I had our trip planned for December. Of course I had to add next March for Bill and I just to squeeze the value out of it. I will probably go back to one trip a year after this.
So excited that you have now gotten all the songs on Guardians. What a magical way to end the trip.
It really was!
Try a 4 day... One park per day and out. Lemme tell ya... Those go fast!
Especially if you were doing rope drop to close!
:faint: That sounds amazing and decadent!
They were delicious! TS quality at QS prices.
I always wonder... first time visitors... All of a sudden some janitors just start jamming... How fun would that be!
That was our exact experience on our first trip in 2009. It was so fun!
If/when I get back... Oh, Lord... it's been so long seeing Epcot without wall.
What's this "if" I see? You love Disney! I hope you have a trip sooner than later.
Really nice picture of you!
Thank you!
This sounds so good.
They were so yummy!
That's how I got my first AP too, and upgrade for 5 day hopper passes.
This is my third time having an AP. I miss the old days of the Gold pass with MM and water parks included!
Lovely photo!
Thank you!

Deliciousness at Wine Bar George!

I asked for the outdoor space at WBG but was weirdly seated at a table for 4 which was strange by myself. It certainly gave me lots of room to spread out! To start I went for an Aperol Spritz. This was just okay... I think they went light on the Aperol and heavy on the club soda. It doesn't even have the robust orange colour they usually have.
IMG_5283.JPEG
For $17 USD I expected a lot more than what I got.

I chose the brunch burrata for my main and this did not disappoint. Perfect juicy tomato, crisp bacon, creamy avocado and luscious burrata... I savoured every bite!

IMG_5285.JPEG
I decided to treat myself to the olive oil cake as it was my last day. This was really interesting with black olives that had been marinated in a light syrup. I had never tried anything like it before.

IMG_5288.JPEG
I enjoyed listening to some of the Irish music coming from next door at Raglan Road. They had quite a crowd going over there. On the way out I saw "the" George standing by the bar. I mustered up the courage to say hi and tell him I tried the olive oil cake. We had a nice chat and I found him very kind and personable.

I was expecting to have to leave the resort by 6:00 for the airport but my flight was pushed back by 2.5 hours. Not the greatest thing when you have to work at 8:00 am! So I decided to take a last Skyliner ride, followed by a dip in the pool and a beverage.

Here's my super cute new baby....just used her for the first time last weekend when we were celebrating our anniversary in Niagara on the Lake.

The merch for F&G was on point this year!

I finally headed to the airport around 7:45 where I waited and waited and waited. We finally flew out just after 11:00 and landed at 2:00 am! Then I had to clear customs and get home. Luckily I had a driver picking me up so it wasn't too bad. But I was definitely feeling at work the next day!

I got a kick out of seeing my step count for the week. You know you're in Disney when it looks like this!

IMG_5303 (1).PNG

Thank you all for joining in as I relived this super fun trip! As always I appreciate all your comments, questions and general chat. I should be starting a 3 trip PTR soon, have to take advantage of my AP!

See you real soon!

Thank you for sharing your solo trip.

I'm sorry your flight was delayed and you had to work the next day, but you did it.

Your last meal in the bubble sounds very refreshing, too bad the drink was not as good.

Looking forward to your next trips.

I asked for the outdoor space at WBG but was weirdly seated at a table for 4 which was strange by myself. It certainly gave me lots of room to spread out!
Put your feet up! Make yourself at home!
For $17 USD I expected a lot more than what I got.
"Waiter, fill that bathtub up with alcohol... throw in a teaspoon of soda... and a straw."
I chose the brunch burrata for my main and this did not disappoint. Perfect juicy tomato, crisp bacon, creamy avocado and luscious burrata... I savoured every bite!
That sounds really good.
I decided to treat myself to the olive oil cake as it was my last day. This was really interesting with black olives that had been marinated in a light syrup. I had never tried anything like it before.
Nope! I'm gonna take a pass on this one. I might taste it... but no way I'd order a whole piece.
On the way out I saw "the" George standing by the bar.
Wait... what? There's an actual George of WBG????? How did you know it was him?
I was expecting to have to leave the resort by 6:00 for the airport but my flight was pushed back by 2.5 hours. Not the greatest thing when you have to work at 8:00 am!

So I decided to take a last Skyliner ride, followed by a dip in the pool and a beverage.
There ya go. :) Take advantage while you can.

Yikes
Thank you all for joining in as I relived this super fun trip!
