I Got the Email! Now What???

My family and I have never stayed on property before. We have been reading the budget boards about the great rates with the e-mail the last few weeks and when I opened my e-mail on Thursday, there was an e-mail from Disney! We are very excited!!!

My question is this... We want to stay at Pop Century or All Star Movies (all we can afford, right now). When we call to make the reservations, do we have to pay for the whole thing at that time or do we put down a deposit and the rest is due at a later date?

If you do a package, you put $200 depost (it may have changed) and pay the balance 45 days out.

Room only, you put a deposti of one night's stay down and pay the balance at check-in.

Of course Disney will take the balance on both of these earlier if you want to pay prior to the dates specified.

I recomend Dreams Unlimited Travel over making your own reservations. Once you've booked you room, they'll make PS for you too. And one of the best things is that if a better rate comes out before you leave, they'll make sure to apply it to your reservation. (Very handy. They just did that for us. We don't check things like we used to and going from a general code to a AP rate saved us $75.)

Thanks for the replies. My next question would be this... If you do not have a credit card to place a deposit on, how do you go about paying for the deposit? Thanks!

Back in '97 when we went they still weren't taking check cards over the phone. So we were told to send them a check, which I did by Express Mail.

If you don't give a credit card number, your confirmation that you receive in the mail will have the deposit due balance on it, which is usually the cost of 1 night plus the tax. You can mail that back with a personal check. I think they give you about 2 weeks.

We've stayed at Movies, it is so much fun! We're staying onsite for only the 2nd time this Dec and we're trying POP. Can't wait!
