My guess is that you didn't fit their profile as a potential member to add on.


Take your money and go on a 7 day cruise. You will come out ahead. Having sailed on the recent member cruise as well as last year, you won't be missing much unless DVC puts their bar a lot higher than it was this year.

We kind of felt the same way. I enjoyed myself and my wife did to, we just thought for the price, it was way over priced for the points needed..smjj

I got the same email. I was actually happy though, because I was on the fence about using all those points. We considered going on the cruise only because it fell during our 10 year anniversary, but instead we can now spend that week at WDW, plus take the kids for a few days in August and still have points left over. Worked out for the best for us!

I didn't get picked either and my DH said, "It's probably because we just added on.....they know we won't buy more right now."

IMO: It's more likely they are trying to get more DVC owners interested in DCL, than selling points we're already hooked on DVC. As stated the random drawing was for a limited number if cabins to give first timers a shot, without alienating the return cruisers who are more likely to go every year. Everyone still has an equal chance to get the majority of cabins on a FCFS basis.
