Sending big hugs to all of you for the advice....

I created a new email, saved an itinerary without a hotel around 4pm on Tuesday. At 12:51 on Wednesday, I got the "Explore Your Disney Resort Picks" email. Then, at 2:43 on Thursday, I got the "Don't be late for this Disney Resort Rate" with my 20/30/40 Pin Code!!!!!

I finalized plans with DH last night and booked 6 nights at the Yacht Club - Club Level room in August followed by 3 nights at Universal Studios.

Can't wait!!!!! Thank you all so much!

Hey, congratulations! What a nice deal. We want to do the same thing... Universal/Disney. May I ask if there is a particular reason why you chose to do Disney during the first part of your trip and Universal second? I'm trying to decide which to visit first and am looking for ideas. :)

:yay: CONGRATULATIONS!! :yay:

And ahem if you could take a moment and fill out the poll stating whether you changed your plans after receiving the pin. I'm just really curious about how the pins change things.

:cool1:CONGRATS!!!:cool1:
Feels good after all that work huh??? hope your trip is magical!!

I can't say there was a real reason, per se. I looked at doing it both ways, but preferred the way the days worked out this way. Since I am doing 6 nights at WDW and 3 nights at US, my transition day was different depending on which order I went in, and that was probably the deciding factor for me. I subscribe to TourGuide Mike and based that on his Least Crowded Days charts.

I'm curious what you are doing for transportation? I've decided we really don't need a car, so I think I am going to do a towncar service. I found one that has a perfect itinerary (Airport - WDW - Universal - Airport) for about $150. I'm thinking that is the way to go.

Just completed the poll --- I guess we upgraded our room category based on the PIN code. I was really on the fence as to whether or not to go Club Level. I probably would not have done it without the PIN, but would have taken a pool view room. We are staying at the Yacht Club, Standard View with Club Level and with the PIN, Club Level turned out to be $78 more per day or $19.50 per person (based on standard room for both). As between Pool view w/o Club or Standard w/Club, it was only $30 per day more or $7.50 per person. With a teen and a tween, I decided that was a good deal. Besides, we are looking forward to taking it easy this trip and enjoying the resort a little more. I've promised the kids, no more commando-Disney itineraries, LOL. Plus, I've heard the concierge can help with some hard to get ADRs. Since we are already in our reservation window and we, of course, like all the hard-to-get spots, I am hoping that helps a bit.

My biggest worry is that I will be spoiled for life!!!!:rotfl:

Thanks for the info. I was thinking 2 or 3 nights Universal and 6 or 7 nights Disney. I also subscribe to TourGuideMike, so I'll check out the Least Crowded Days as far as the transition day too. Thanks for that reminder. :)

I don't ever like to drive on vacation. I was also thinking of a town car as well. My thought was: (Airport - Universal - WDW- and finally the Magical Express back to airport). I think you got a good price. I haven't priced it all out yet. We used a town car service in the past and were happy with it.

If we don't make this Universal/WDW trip this year, we are definitely going next year. Never too early to plan.

:)

ps. also still trying to decide on universal resort ~ I guess you can't go wrong with any of them

The nice part about doing Universal first would be the ability to do only 2 nights there, then 7 nights at WDW. You could arrive at Universal resort, spend 2 full days at Universal, then leave after last day for WDW.

Since we had to factor in our departure morning, we did 3 nights@ Universal.

Either way, it should be fun. We've never been to Universal before and the kids are really excited.

Just jumping in here because I got my code today too!! Or at least my mom did because I set up the account under her email. She is going on the trip too, so YEAH!!

Yay! Thanks so much. It is nice that you got the pin before you had made your ADRs then, so you got lucky twice!

:yay: Congratulations :yay: Will you please also vote in my poll about whether getting the pin changed your Disney plans at all? Thanks. I got the pin and had my mom use it and they already had the pin under the reservation she had already made for POFQ

Tinkerbellmagic, here is the link to the towncar service I found.

[Hmmmmm... it won't let me post the link!] type in quick silver tours dot com (all one word) and search the town car rates. Scroll down to the 3way trip and you will see it.

It's $155 for the 3-way trip. I haven't used this company before, but I found them either here, on Allears.net or TGM. I can't remember - I spend so much time on all of them!!!

We've used towncar service before and been very pleased. I priced out a rental car just for ha-has and it was over $400. Not to mention, I think you need to pay for parking at Hard Rock Hotel.

How do you get a pin? We've gone 3 years in a row and have never been offered a bounce back or pin!!!!! Help!

Here's what I did to get the PIN.

1) I went on to disney website and created a new account with my work email address (my other account is my home email.)

2) I went into the itineraries and poked around, then saved an itinerary with no hotel room.

3) Less than 24 hours later I received an initial email from Disney (no pin yet)

4) 24 hours after that, I received another email from Disney with my PIN code.

Interestingly enough, when I called to book, the CM confirmed my ORIGINAL email address, not the one they sent the PIN to. He had all of my info - last visits, kids' names, address, etc. So, they definitely track who you are. It seems the new email didn't set me up as a new person - but rather triggered something in the system to get me a PIN. Not sure if I would have gotten the PIN with my old email.

CTFamilyCruisers, thank you so much for the town car info! I was going to ask you about where you got that good price. :)

Yep, so far, I think we will stick to Universal first, Disney second. I spoke to DGS today and he said it doesn't matter to him which resort we stay at at Universal (I thought he would want Hard Rock)... so this means I just might go with RPR. He does have opinions on which Disney resort we stay at though, lol. It's kind of funny when they are old enough to have definite opinions about where they want to stay. ;)

Me too! We had a trip booked under my husband's name and info under the intial Disney summer 25% off promo. I followed the instructions here on the Disboards and got the Pin offer for 20/30/40 under my name and personal e-mail:banana: We changed the ressie for the same dates to Club level... I can't believe it! Too bad I can't use the IPO because I had already planned out the trip.:rotfl: Congrats!

Either way, I am sure it will be great. We chose Hard Rock for the kids, plus it is slightly more centrally located. Have you found any good places for dinner at US? I'm thinking Mythos at IOA only because I keep hearing about it. Not sure what to do the other 2 nights.

booked w/out a hotel? did you say offsite or other?

FWIW the big reason for doing Universal at the end of the trip is that it is a very relaxing way to end the vacation. The front of the line access will have you spoilied in no time. That combined with the fact that the hotels and parks are all walking distance to each other. No need for rope drop, or worrying about transportation.
