I Got Ban For A Month For A Weird Reason

I said " Stop asking to be my friend or im going to ban you from this room " and then I got a message that said, " You got ban for a month, for imposting a staff.. blah blah ". I guess they were thinking I was a staff?

I guess we can say we're going to "boot" someone from our room but we can't use the word "ban" as only VMK staff can actually "ban" people. Sounds like you just mistakenly wrote "ban" instead of "boot".

Can't believe someone was following that conversation that closely though....

You aren't gonna get deleted for a month... Unless you meant you were banned for six or something.

Well, i've tried to change my ip adress but, it still doesn't work, I contacted staff im waiting for a reply but atleast I know my player won't get deleted hopfully. I'll try to find something else to do, thanks for the support guys.

That's not a weird reason. You said you were going to ban someone, and regular players can't ban eachother. I know that you probably meant "boot," but ban and boot are two different things in VMK.

I agree with the OP. I think it is a weird reason. Sure you can ban another player from your room. You boot them, and if they return, you boot them again. The difference in this context between booting and banning is not enough to make it "impersonation of staff." If VMK doesn't want us to say ban, they should take it out of the dictionary.

I have to agree this seems a bit harsh. I have often warned players that they could get banned for doing things against VMK values, such as taken etc. That being said i have always said "you can get banned" which to me does not impy that the ban would come from me (I hope). However if I said "I" perhaps I would be in the same boat... Now you actually can ban someone from your own rooms by booting them then limiting who can enter. In the future I would suggest that action. Better to be safe than sorry.

--Giving my two cents real fast on this post:

Why change your ip address? I understand that you meant you wanted them to stop asking you to be on their friends list, but telling them you'll ban them, to me, is impersonating a staff/saying you have staff-like abilities. Changing your ip address without even getting an email from the black hole on why they banned you.. good gosh, that's just wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! You don't know if you were banned for a reason or not, and if the ban is meant, getting around your ban [for a SIMPLE one month] by changing your ip address.. that's silly. Well, that's all I have to say. Sorry about this!

What you need to do is write them through the parent contact form. It gets attention alot faster.
Then you need to explain, what happen word for word and ask them to plz check the chat and see that you are telling the truth.
They will respond with either a message saying we've reviewed chat and think your ban in fair or your ban has been lifted.

Don't try to find loopholes in this ban (read as: don't change your ip address). It will only make things worse- if you don't like being banned for a month, imagine how much you'll like being banned indefinitely?

i can tell that YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT!! Vmk staff CAN NOT DELETE SOMEONE'S VMK PERSON THEY CAN ONLY BAN THEM. When you tell someone you are going to ban them, that is acting like a Staff that your not && acting like you have that power && like you can do that when YOU CAN'T. && changing ur ip......thats not going 2 work.

Relax, Sub. Your account isn't gonna get deleted. I got banned for a month too, I still play on it.

Yeah, like other people said, just say boot in the future.

Altough I do think that that was a BIT harsh... I mean, come on, I know that you know you can't ban people. It was just a synonym that you used for boot, LOL.
