I just spoke with Lisa and made our spa/Palo ressies for REAS. Debbie is still out but Lisa was very sweet and very helpful!!

Anyway...she said I was upgraded on April 5th to cabin 8564. We went from a Cat 6 to a Cat. 4!!!!!!

Now...this is on Deck 8, two decks higher up than we were. Which means three decks up from the kids clubs. Is this location okay?? Anyone stay in 8564?? How are the Cat. 4 rooms as compared to the Cat. 6?

Should I be as happy as I think I am?!!! LOL!!!

Upgrades are so nice to get! We got upgraded from 2 cat 8's to 2 cat 4's. I am still nervous about the 8th deck. We stayed in 8550 last time and it was a great place EXCEPT for the noise above our heads. It was great to just go up 1 floor to the pool and going down wasn't that bad. I just wanted to give you the heads up on the "noise" we experienced!!

CONGRATS!

Thanks...how bad was the noise, and was it all day/night??

Even the cabins on the “Noisy List” are most much more quite than any hotel room I’ve ever stayed at. I think the most noise comes from the hallway and other passengers more than anything else. With that in mind Deck 8 has less than half the cabins than Deck 6 (102 vs. 246) and should be more quite overall.

Plus you get all that extra room.

We stayed in 8564 last April. It was a great room! We didn't hear any noise that we considered bothersome. I think you are far enough back from the goofy pool where the deck parties are held. My kids could just go up the aft staircase and you are right at Topsiders and deck 9 activities. It was an awesome location. We are leaving again this Saturday. We chose the same location again we enjoyed it so much. We will be in 8580 this time around.

Enjoy and congrats!

You made me feel so much better, thanks!!!!!!! Have a fabulous cruise!

For us the noise issue was we could hear them setting out the deck chairs and loungers in the morning and they would scrape across the deck for about 20-30 min and then we could always hear the kids running up above our heads. When we left Nassau and had the Sail Away party we could hear the muffled version in our room and it was SO hard to get the already over stimulated exhausted kids to give in and go to sleep. We ended up using ear plugs and our sound machine just to drown out the noise. Some people say they don't hear it (and you may not) but do be aware that it is possible to hear it especially if things like that bug you! We are on the 8th deck again this time after an upgrade but we are under the spa so I am hoping it will be better. Our room at 8550 was right under the Mickey pool area..so very noisy.

I've stayed in some pretty noisy hotel rooms with hallway noise and this is one thing that the 8th deck did NOT seem to have a problem with was hallway noise.

Noisy or not I would gladly take an upgrade like that. I didn't find the ship noisy, just picture trying to sleep in a hotel room and the air conditioner comes on, you know the little unit under the window LOL

Enjoy your upgrade
