I got an Illumination Cruise!!!!!

Called at 8:30 p.m. tonight, for about the 20th time since August and it finally payed off! I got an Illumination Cruise for December 4th! I have always had some kind of surprise for my family and this year I was just out of ideas except for the cruise which I didn't get at the 90 day mark. I am so happy!

I would love to hear some of your other surprises as that is how I am and am starting to run out of ideas. Maybe that's because we have been going oo often Nah, not possible,

congrats on snagging the illuminations cruise. that should be a great surprise for your party. I tried to surprise my family with the cruise this past visit, but, alas mother nature won out and the cruie was cancelled that night. I will try for it again in 2004! enjoy.

See? Cancellations happen everyday and if you don't get a ressie for an Illuminations Cruise on your first try you should not give up but continue to call.

When my four kids were younger (elementary age and younger), on two different occasions the trips themselves were the surprise. We didn't tell them until two days before we left. One time I made up four word/question puzzles. They each worked out the answer to theirs and then put them together and it said "We're going to Disney World in two days." Another time we planned a trip staying at a value resort. They wanted to stay at the resort with the dragon slide, but I said we couldn't afford it. When we pulled up in front of POFQ they were thrilled. Last year we stayed at the Polynesian. Told them it was a garden view room (money again), they were just happy to be at the Poly. When we walked into our Castle view conceirge room my now hard to impress teenagers mouths hit the floor. The hoop de doo revue was also a nice surprise and I wish I wouldn't have missed the Backyard BBQ when they were younger.

These were the hardest secrets I have ever had to keep. Some of them for as long as a year! At least this time it is only for a week! Have fun planning!
