I got a new migraine medication today!

The Zomig I was on was not helping anymore. I have had a nasty migraine all week. This morning, after waking up with this dreaded headache AGAIN, I called the doc. I got in right away and he has me on something new called Maxalt (10 mg). I took one while at his office and laid down for 20 minutes. The headache was gone!!! My doctor is so nice. He gave me free samples to take home. So now I will have a good week-end with no headache!

I have tried all of the migraine meds and find they all work well initially. It seems like I need to cycle through them as they lose their effectiveness after a while. I just went to see a neurologist about my headaches for the first time and he put me back on Imitrex but also told me to take a new med called Bextra with it. Bextra is kind of like Celebrex (an anti-inflammotory) and the combination worked wonderfully for me.
