I knew I would gain. I never count points while on vacation. I eat anything I want whenever I want. We were gone for 2 weeks. Usually I gain between 3-5 pounds in that time period. But this time, I ate and ate and ate and ate and ate and well, you get the picture. I knew that once I got back, I'd have to be good again, so I ate even more than I ever used to before joining Weight Watchers!! We were in the car a lot and I get bored, so I eat! And when I drive, eating is the only way I can stay awake!

We went to South Carolina to visit my DD30 Hilside (Hilary) and her DH, Tom. We (DH and I) spent a week in a condo on the beach with my sister and bil. It was great! My other 2 kids, DS18 TigCollins--SOCD (Jared) and DD11 CDoobeeJr. (Katelyn) spent that week with their sister and bil. Then we joined them for the second week. I also took my 2 DDs for a girls-only SURPRISE trip to WDW for Katelyn's 12th birthday! It was only 6 hours away, how could I not?!

Hilary (Hilside) has written about the trip on the Trip Reports Board. Please go read! I think it's called "CDoobee Surprise!" There were 3 days, so there are 3 threads.

Anyway, I've been TRYING to be good since I got back. It's really hard to get back out of the "eating everything" habit! I did okay Monday and Tuesday, but today I've had a small relapse. Oh well, back to it tomorrow. I think I've lost 1 1/2 to 2 pounds of what I gained. It goes ON so much quicker than it comes OFF!!

Debbie, it sounds like you had a great vacation and eating on vacation is all part of the package. I know it is hard to get back into the Weight Watchers mode after being away, but you can do it. After my month-long vacation it took me about a week to readjust and get back to journaling and counting points. I found once I was accountable for what I was putting into my body I was able to get back on track. Good luck, I feel confident that with some motivation from WISH and determination on your part those 10# will be a thing of the past.

WOW, what a vacation!!!!!

I'm sure it wasn't 10 pounds of FAT! Don't worry too much, just get back into your GREAT habit of journaling and point counting!!! Bank some points for a nice treat once a week so you don't feel like you are being too deprived!

When we went to England for 2 weeks I started out with good intentions, but the last week to the last few days I was eating everything that I could get my hands on, just knowing it would be a year before we would be back. :) Anyway, I know you can get back into you pre vacation routine and lose those vacation pounds and more!

Hang in there and welcome back! xo

I did the same as you on my 2 week vacation. I ATE, ATE and ATE!!

I went back on Atkins Monday but yesterday had a relapse. I ate a few cookies!! Oh so good.

After carb loading at WDW with all the wonderful treats it is hard to get back to the lifestyle I was living with before vacation!!! I will though, just as you will.

Good luck and glad you had a great time.........we also just celebrated by DD's 12 birthday at WDW.........

I did read your DD's trip report! :D What a wonderful surprise you pulled off! I don't think I would have been able to keep the secret!

Don't worry about the 10 pounds, it's probably partially a water gain and will come off before you know it. Life would be too boring if we couldn't have a little fun now and then!

So ya gained some pounds- but you CREATED some AWESOME memories with your family- no one will remember that you gained 10 pounds (because I'm sure they're going to be gone in a couple of weeks!) but they will remember the great time- I'm off to see those trip reports!!! :)
Welcome Back!!
Tara

Debbie, glad to hear that you & the family had such a great trip, & I know how good you are at keeping secrets! ;) Anyone who could pull off the surprise you gave Katelyn & the rest of us for that matter at DIS-CON 1 is a pro in my book!

Good to see you back here on the WISH board. Those lbs will be gone in no time! :eeth:
