I Found a Le Cellier Lunch ADR...but Still Hesitant?

I'm staying at WDW for a week for the first time...and it's a solo trip. I stumbled upon an ADR for the party of one that is me for Le Cellier. I've heard so many great things about Le Cellier, but wonder if at this point it's overrated. I'm sure this will be one of many trips to WDW so there will be other chances. But I have also heard that it's hard to stumble upon the oppurtunity...and well, I fell over it. The only reason I'm going for a lunch is for the single TS required for it. :confused3

Here are the other ADRs I'm planning to use my TS credits on...please help me reason through this:
-Dinner @ Biergarten (1TS)
-Dinner @ Teppan Edo (1TS)
-Character Breakfast @ Tusker House (1TS)
-4:00 Dinner @ Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue (2TS)
-Dinner @ Cape May Cafe (1TS)

Doany of the above seem worth sacrificing? Looking forward to feedback...the sooner, the better. :)

Sorry about not giving away the time/date, can't risk losing it if I do decide to go along with it. :surfweb:

we have had good experiences there for lunch! MMMM. I probably would forgo on the Biergarten, and only because it seems more fun eating there with a group :confused3 We like it there too, but if I was eating solo I would go for a nice lunch at LC.

I jumped at the oppurtunity and made the ADR. But may cancel it if something comes up. Nothing else has been canceled either. For all of the ADRs I've made, they're on different days of my stay; nice and spaced out. If I make it to the Le Cellier ADR, it'll be on the same day as my Hoop Dee Doo ADR. FYI... :)

Le Cellier is so overrated! I wasnt impressed with the "heavenly" soup or bread that everyone raves about. And the steak was disappointing...not very flavorful and a cheap cut of meat. IMHO.

I like Le Cellier, and go there for solo lunches. But my preferred lunch is an appetizer and a side. I love the sausage and polenta appetizer, and I love their baked mac and cheese. I love the pretzel bread too. To be honest, I've never had a steak there, so I can't comment on whether those were overrated. I'm not the biggest fan of the cheese soup - it has a little too much of a beer taste to me.

If you haven't been, I recommend going once and trying it.

We ate there for lunch for the first time in September and we loved it.

We had dinner there 2X's and each time it was simply ok. We love steak and truthfully I've had better steaks at a number of wdw restaurants.

Now it was not bad simply mediocre. The soup was good but I don't go to a steak house for soup.

I'm glad we tried it but we don't feel the need to go back any time soon.

Yes, it's overrated for the extreme hype it gets among Disney visitors, but it's pretty good and is a deal for one dining credit. I must say that I have never had a steak there either and am not really happy about the way they changed the mussel appetizer since last year, although they were still good.

I would give up Teppan Edo and replace it with Le Cellier. If you have hibachi at home, you will likely be disappointed by Teppan Edo. IMO, they have a limited menu and any local hibachi is just better. All restaurants are worth a try since everyone's tastes are so different, and it seems Le Cellier is intriguing to you so I would do it :thumbsup2

I have to agree about axing Teppan Edo in favour of lunch at LC. We have loved all of our meals there, although have only gone for dinner. We have always had our steaks perfectly cooked, and of course loved the soup, bread and desserts. Do they still have the maple creme brulee? YUM.

I hope you have an early ADR for lunch if you are also doing the early HDDR. Otherwise that is a whole lotta food in a short time span. Could you consider switching to a later HDDR so you'd have room for all those ribs?

I don't think Le Cellier is a great restaurant overall (most Disney restaurants aren't). But I think it's one of the best 1-credit restaurants at WDW. I really enjoy the mushroom filet with truffle butter and risotto.

I'd easily pick it over Teppan Edo or Biergarten.

The reason I chose the HDDR seating for 4:00PM on that day is so that I can load up on food and make it last up until MK's EMH for that evening until around 12:00am and if neccesary, supplementing it with a CS DP credit. I think for the sake of spacing out my credits, I'd have to switch the HDDR with another ADR earlier in my 7 day stay.

It will be my last second to last night before departure, so it would be nearing the point of realizing whether or not I have a large amount of CS credits.

The ADR for Le Cellier is for 12:20. I think with my original plan for that day, I wanted to spend most of it at Magic Kingdom and spend the middle third of my day at Epcot. I wasn't really expecting having to come out so early to Epcot.

As for Teppan Edo and Biergarten, my original reasoning for choosing these two ADRs was because the oppurtunity for an informal social experience to converse with those at my table. I've also heard that the two have entertainment if those at my table aren't exactly the most sociable.

Our family of 3 (DD is 13) has met some lovely people at both Teppan and Biergarten. One mom and daughter brought a bunch of extra glow bracelets and shared then at dinner. It was a lovely icebreaker but might not work without a kid in tow.
My stepdad actually is still in contact with a couple he met at Biergarten. He makes friends easily!

While there are many that would agree with the OP that this place is over-rated (over-hyped?) perhaps this is a good opportunity to actually decide for themselves.

I've always enjoyed LeCellier, but never felt it quite lived up to its hype. Yes, a good meal, but not the legendary one people seem to expect.

The only way you will be able to determine if LeCellier is overrated is by experiencing it. Everyone's tastes (no pun intended) are different. I could tell you that my husband and I would rather dine somewhere else just because we don't think LeCellier is anything special but that's just us. Others absolutely LOVE LeCellier. But only you can make the determination yourself. I would suggest you keep the seating and go in with an open mind. If nothing else, you will be able to enjoy a sit down lunch in a nice environment. The food doesn't suck, the servers are good so what's to lose?

I would ditch Biergarten or Cape May for LeCellier, if possible. I've been to all of the latter restaurants and happen to love LeCellier for a good filet and great service. (Been there 6 times with positive experiences.) I do like both of the other restaurants, but if I were to go as a single, I would prefer being waited on at LeCellier, and not having to share a table with strangers at Biergarten or having to serve myself at a buffet at Cape May.

We are going for lunch just to get a cup of soup for me and DH each and split their house burger....so good!

I like LC. If you haven't tried it, give it a try.

The worst that would happen is that it isn't for you, and next time, you give something else a try!

We went to Le Cell twice last week and had a fantastic lunch each time. Highly recommended.....:goodvibes

We love LeCellier. We've gone on our last 3 trips & we think it is worth the hype.

No, the steak isn't quite as good as Artist Point or Calif. Grill but those are 2 credits & very expensive!

At lunch LeCellier is an awesome deal & good! The steak, cheese soup & you can get a smoothie drink also...yum!

And the choc. moose for dessert is so so cute & so so good!! It is worth going just for that dessert!
