I've done it before. I put the cottage cheese in the blender to get rid of the chunks. No one in the house had a clue that it wasn't ricotta.

I blend it, too. It will work okay as long as you drain a lot of the liquid out of it. The main problem using cottage cheese instead of ricotta is the difference is too much moisture.

Yup - add a bit of salt - some parsley and blend away

This is how I make my cheese mixture:

Part skim Ricotta cheese, and only BREAKSTONES 2% small curd cottage cheese, an egg, add some shredded mozarella to the mixture -- and a little parsley flakes and black pepper
