I Finally Won On E-bay

Soomeone here posted about getting a great deal on sizzletes on e-bay so I started poking around and bidding - but I always got outbit - and once when i was getting something cheap they cancelled the auction -
well FINALLY I have won something!

The Ransom Alphabar for $49 (thats with shipping!) thats over 50% off the Mikes prices and they are $125 at creativexpress.com with shipping so I think I did good - for once!

I'm telling you - after researching them & buying one for DDIL for C'mas, I'm currently looking for someone willing to adopt me! I want one of those suckers sooooo bad!

Let me tell you how I got mine....

My DH HATES to shop - much less go to a craft store

But I HAD 2 coupons for Mike's 50% off sale
DH HAD to go to Home Depot for something got sitters I had to help carry - so I MADE him go to Mikes - I needed black cardstock - figures I could get something else too with the coupon....

So we walk in (at the time the sizzix display was right in the front) I point and say - OH someday I would love to buy that'
he says what is it - I tell him - he says - If we can get out of this store right now well buy it'
SO needless to say we picked up the sizzix and the lollipop letters to get him out of the craft store -
but now I can't drag him back to do it again (he knows better I quess)

Too bad that won't work for me! I got laid off back in 2001 & haven't been able to get something since....the old over-qualified under-qualified conundrum. Actually DH was laid off the same day - we worked for the same place. Things are better now as he was able to get work, but is only really making what we "need."

When we both worked, I was pretty much able to buy things like that just because I wanted them. I just kind of miss those days.

Plus, I kind of got carried away when spending the $$ I'd gotten for Christmas gifts. I spent it all on scrapping supplies & then charged another $50 at the Plaid site that I shouldn't have.

I'll just have to try to drop not-so-subtle hints for my birthday.

I have Rat-a-tat, lollipop uppers, shadow, fun serif lowers, girls are wierd and I just got Ransom (should be here soon) and
QK's Paige (which I haven't decided if I want to keep yet)

Everyone on this board is so nice and helpful. I didn't want to post on the other thread (so it could finally die) but I wanted to say this. While the people who post here are a tight knit group, it's never seemed like one of those dreaded cliques people complain of on other boards because you all just make everyone feel welcome.

Patty! Didn't we all have another thread going about $$spending$$ money & how we all feed into each others desire for sales?

I was the BIG mouth who posted about ebay. I've gotten 3 sizzlets alphabets plus my Lollipop uppercase.

Then when ACMoore had their 50% off sale and I was able to score some rainchecks for a "rainy day" ...
Deb, you are too funny! Your budget went on your DIL! Too bad that Michael's etc. don't do lay-a-way!
If you need any specific die cuts, I too would be happy to send some your way.. or anyone else who might need any.
One last ebay hint, sometimes if you check the item by "Newly listed" you have some folks with reasonable "buy now" prices.
