I FINALLY got a new lens

Well, this is really sad. I have had my DSLR since 2005 and had yet to buy a new lens. I have the kit lens and the 70-300 zoom. So sad. I have a Canon AE-1 with a wide array of lenses if I ever want to shoot film, but that does not help me much with my Rebel XT!

I got the 50mm f/1.8... I know, low end... But it is what I can afford at the moment!

Low End, I wouldn't say so. Low cost, yep. These 50mm f/1.8's take great shots (both Canon and Nikon) and are pretty much a must have lens for slr users because of the low cost and great optics.

I agree!! The 50mm is a great little lens!! You'll enjoy it a bunch!

It is taking some getting used to after shotting primarily with the kit lens for so long. But I am having fun.
