I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

You don't have to lie. Tell him you and Daddy are going to run in a race at Disney. That's all. Kids know their parents need alone time...and even if he gets upset at first he'll be over it the minute the door closes...Get him involved, show him the event schedule, ask if he wants you to check any new place out for your next trip!!! It will be great. Reid will be fine, and he'll be showered with goodies when you & Ed get home I am sure. I wish I had more opportunities to spend alone time with DH....I get Mommy guilt, but Amanda you go above & beyond, and you are a wonderful Mommy...you deserve this! :lovestruc

You're so sweet to say that about me! I'm still torn about whether or not we should do a couples trip. Of course, I have a lot of time to plan for it.

I vote for adults only too, but I am biased because one day I hope for us to have one too!!:goodvibes And yes I feel guilty for just saying that out loud!!:( I told DH for my 40th (in 3 1/2 years...just to clarify) I want an adults only WDW trip. He just rolled his eyes!! Not the reaction I was hoping for!!

Oh no! That's not a good reaction indeed! :rotfl: I've told Ed the same thing....on the day of my 40th birthday I want to be in Magic Kingdom. He has 6 years to plan! :lmao:

I think that you should try for an adults only trip, but I know that I'd have a really hard time not taking Maddie. I'd totally understand if you didn't do it.

It's such a hard decision. I truly don't know what I'll end up doing if we do end up going to Disney in February for the race.

We do close on our old house on Friday. How funny. We close on the new one June 4 so that's the day that I'm really looking forward to.:goodvibes Hope that everything goes well!

How did the closing go Friday? Hope it all went well. I bet you're ready for June 4th!

Good luck with everything as you get into your new home!

Thank you! I'm so ready for this all to be over & just be settled in our new home.

Hi Amanda! Jana sent me to your TR and after reading that, I've headed over here :)

Hi! I'm so happy you came on over! Jana had sent me a text this weekend letting me know she had referred you here. I hope you enjoyed the TR!

I'm still on page one of your PTR but wanted to jump in and say that you will really like OKW - it was one resort that I thought I'd hate and it actually is one of my top 3 (my top favorite is AKL Villas and my least favorite, believe it or not is Boardwalk :scared1: )

I'm so excited to hear that you really like OKW! I've been so worried about it. Okay - I have to ask - what don't you like about Boardwalk? Just curious!

Anyway, I'll get back to reading! I have a 4 year old DS also (your son is absolutely adorable, btw) and I love living vicariously through you! :rotfl:

Awww, thank you! Yeah, Jana had told me you had a 4 year old little boy, too. She said we're a lot alike & remind her of each other. Is your son a never-ending ball of energy like mine? :sad2:

Hi Amanda! I just wanted to stop by and check in. How is everything going? I miss chatting!

Hi! I miss chatting too! This week has been insane! We finally closed on our house Friday morning and are trying to get moved in. Hopefully, we should start residing in the new home come Tuesday.

The Dis was being mean to me yesterday, but I wanted to let you know that I was thinking of your family all day. I hope that the closing went well and that you're getting settled into your new home :goodvibes

That's so sweet of you! I thought of y'all on Friday as well. I hope everything went okay on the closing for your old home! :goodvibes We're slowly getting settled into the new house even though we're not sleeping there yet. But, I do have the kitchen unpacked.

Thanks! I hope this move is over soon. Amanda's killing me! Hopefully, I'll have some extra time soon to check out the Dad's Club! :thumbsup2

I'M killing YOU? Whatever! I'm the one who packs, unpacks, deals with the movers, utilities, and everything else!

Hi everybody!

I just wanted to pop in & say how sorry I am that I didn't get to do an update this past week! We did close on our new house Friday morning. For a little while there on Thursday, I thought it wasn't going to happen. We didn't find out until 3:30 that afternoon exactly how much we owed at closing. Luckily, Ed was able to leave work & go get the certified check at the bank. Unfortunately, we ended up owing about $1250 more than what was initially estimated. But, I was just so ready to close that I couldn't care too much. :sad2:

We started moving a lot of stuff this weekend. And I already have the kitchen unpacked. We've been busy starting to get things for the house. I ordered our blinds this weekend. And we went to Home Depot for tile sealer for our tile shower. Well, we ended up purchasing a fridge, too. :rotfl: We have a black fridge but the new house has stainless steel appliances. So, we've been looking at a new fridge, specifically the french door kind. They are ridiculously expensive! But, we got a pretty good deal on a Maytag one - we got almost $700 off it.

Next week will be super busy as well. I have people at the house doing different kinds of connections or what not (gas, internet, TV, etc) on Monday & Tuesday. The movers will move our heavy furniture & appliances on Tuesday. And it is Teacher Appreciation week at Reid's school. I am still working on teacher gifts as well. I'm so thankful he only goes two days a week! :rotfl2:

Anyway, I really am going to try do a real update later in the week. Please stick with me! Once I get through this week, I'll be back to my normal updating! Thank you all! :grouphug:

Yay for closing on the house!! Booo to having to pony up more $.

That's awesome that your kitchen is unpacked! I think it's always the hardest room to do.

And Yay! for a new fridge!! I love appliance shopping. Our new house doesn't come with any appliances (though they offered to sell us their very well used furniture :confused3) so I've been doing lots of research on appliances. We have a fridge (was in our garage) but I think that I have DH talking into getting a new one so that it matches the others :cheer2: I'm terrible.

Good luck getting everything done for Reid's teachers. This month is crazy at DD's school too. If we're this busy now, what's to become of us once they start real school?

Good luck getting settled, I have a feeling that you'll have it organized and ready to go in no time!

Congrats on closing and starting to move into your new house! That stinks that you had to pay extra money, but at least it is all done now!

So glad that everything is coming together, and I'm happy to hear that you are getting a new fridge. We got a french door kind for our rental property, and it was really fun shopping. I only wish I was able to use it! I don't think its fair that the renters get better stuff than me! :rotfl2:

I am very familiar with how much of a hassle it is to get set up in a new place, take your time, we'll all be here patiently waiting! :)

Wow, lots going on for you! Closing on a house is stressful!:headache: But it will all come together for you! :thumbsup2 I find it hard to get the teachers the right gifts...last year I went with charitable donations in their names. DD complained and told me it wasn't a real gift, but I ended up making one of the teachers cry! Hopefully it wasn't because she wanted something else!:rotfl:

Congrats on closing! I'm sure you're all very excited right now, even though you're a little overwhelmed.

Don't worry about updates. We'll still be here.

Congraulations, Amanda, Ed and Reid!!:cheer2: I hope this is the beginning of many treasured memories in your new home! :grouphug:

Please don't apologize for not updating... it's totally understandable! How awesome about the house though, congrats! Dang, $700 off a fridge! Very nice! :thumbsup2

Congrats on the new house!

I love fridge shopping. I hate the prices but love all the cool options. $700 off is an awesome deal.

1200 more down but you saved 700! Not too shabby!!!

Hi Amanda! Sorry I have been missing, but life was busy here too. ;)

Congratulations on the new house. How exciting for you!

Thanks! Our new fridge arrives this afternoon. We've been doing so much shopping for the house it's stressing me out! Guess that's why Ed got me a "stress fix massage" for Mother's Day! :rotfl:

This will be Reid's last week of school. I'm in the home stretch - almost done!

Congrats on closing and starting to move into your new house! That stinks that you had to pay extra money, but at least it is all done now!

Thanks! I'm just happy to finally be in our new home. That's definitely not fair that your renters got the fancy fridge! I'm excited to get ours this afternoon.

I appreciate y'all sticking around & waiting on my updates! :goodvibes

Oh yes, there's been lots of stress for sure! Hopefully, it'll start to come together & calm down a bit now. It is hard to come up with teacher gifts. They get so much of the same stuff and I hate giving them stuff that they may not need.

Congrats Amanda, Ed & Reid on your new home!!!!

Thank you!!!

Congrats on closing! I'm sure you're all very excited right now, even though you're a little overwhelmed.

Thank you! I've been very overwhelmed! But, we are so happy to just be in our new home.....even if it is a mess inside right now.

I really do appreciate y'all understanding about my lack of updates!

Congratulations on your new home!

Thank you!!!

Congraulations, Amanda, Ed and Reid!!:cheer2: I hope this is the beginning of many treasured memories in your new home! :grouphug:

That's so sweet of you! I truly appreciate the understanding. We are so happy to finally be in our new home after the long building process. And our new fridge will be here this afternoon! Yay! :cool1:

Congrats on the new house!

I love fridge shopping. I hate the prices but love all the cool options. $700 off is an awesome deal.

Thank you! The fridge prices are insane on the french door ones....especially if you want the water & ice on the outside of the door. We figured we wouldn't get much better than $700 off.

:cheer2: Hooray for closing on your new home. :cheer2: How exciting!

Thank you! We are so happy to finally be in here!

1200 more down but you saved 700! Not too shabby!!!

We figured it was a pretty good deal so we jumped on it. New fridge will be here today! :woohoo:

Yay!! Congratulations on your new house! So exciting!! :cool1:

Thank you! We were so happy when we got to finally spend our 1st night here.

Congratulations on your new home! That is so cool, yet I am certain you will be so busy!

Hi Amanda! Sorry I have been missing, but life was busy here too. ;)

Congratulations on the new house. How exciting for you!

No worries! I more than understand!

Congrats Amanda!!! I'm so excited for you! :woohoo:

Thank you!

Hi Everybody!

First....to all the mommies here.....I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!

We had a normal but nice day. I got some new barstools for the house & put those together. I'm really happy with them. And Ed & Reid gave me a stress fix massage at a local spa. Guess Ed thinks I've been a bit stressed with the house & all. :rotfl:

Just wanted to thank everyone again for being so understanding & patient with my lack of updates. I'm trying to get caught up on the DIS this morning. And hopefully I'll be able to do some sort of update tonight for y'all!
