I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

Thank you! That's about how I was - I had worked up to week 4 by the beginning of May. But, with the move, I didn't run at all in May. :sad2: So, I started back with week 3. You should definitely try to get back in it!

I am definitely going to.:thumbsup2

I'm so excited about my costume!!! I think all of costumes are coming together nicely!

I can't wait to see pictures of all three of your costumes!

We sure are!!! I'm sure we'll like it. And I'm really excited to meet some new characters.

My uncle still fusses about Stitch scaring him! :rotfl2: I can't wait to text that picture to him.

Thank you! That's one of my favorites from our trip last year.

Well, I hope he will. We didn't get to ride it last year since it was shut down. And we made a fatal mistake with that ride back in 2010. It was Reid's 1st trip (he was 2 1/2). We weren't thinking & put him on that ride 1st. Yep, his 1st ride ever. He was all smiles at first. Then, we went up that 1st hill & he started screaming & crying. But, by the end his tears had dried & he smiled....kind of. :rotfl:

Aww I could see how that could be a bit intense for a first ride! I'm glad he stopped crying at the end though. I'm sure he will be all smiles this go round.

Yeah, I think I've convinced myself that I need to watch this show. I'll definitely have to record it & watch when Ed goes to bed.

LOL, most of my shows I have to watch when Chad's asleep!

I'm glad you all liked Spiderman! I totally laughed out loud when you said Reid was asking a million questions! Ah, the joys of pre-schoolers. :rotfl2: Anthony was a little scared of the Lizard too I think. He now says that Spiderman is his favorite (Thor has been taken down a notch!) Chad says I'm overly critical of movies:rotfl2: Like I saw Magic Mike this weekend and I did not like it all!:crazy2:

Hello!!!!!!!!!

Your trip planning is coming along really well! :cool1:

Oh yes, pre-schoolers & their millions of questions. Sometimes, I get to a point where I'm just like "I don't know Reid. I just don't know." :rotfl:

Reid has always loved Spiderman. Him & Iron Man are his favorites. He also really likes Cpt. America so we let him watch that movie Saturday night. He enjoyed it. It's a very good superhero movie. If y'all haven't seen that one yet, it's worth watching!

I'm not going to lie - I think you are the 1st woman I've heard that didn't enjoy Magic Mike. :lmao: What made it bad? I'm just curious. I do want to see it. I have loved Matthew McConaughey for as long as I can remember. And Joe Manginello (however you spell his name) is another favorite of mine. I watch him on True Blood. Do you watch that?

:rotfl2: Soon, very soon! :rotfl2:

It really is one of the cutest costumes (and boys) I have ever seen. I can't wait for pics from MNSSHP!!!!! :cool1:

Okay. So, what, you need like an hour before you get it rolling? :confused3

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Thanks! I'm getting super excited about doing MNSSHP!!!
Hmm, yes, an hour. Something like that...... :rotfl2:

Oh, I should also tell you how impressed I am with your decision to make use of the kids club at WDW! Woot!!! :cool1:

Fine, I guess I'll give you a little more time if you really need it.

Thank you! I have to say that I even surprised myself with that change. :rotfl: Who knows....we may all enjoy our night so much that'll it become a tradition during our WDW trips.

:rotfl2:
Aww - thanks! :flower3: :rotfl2: This week - I will do my best to get pics sorted. I used two cameras, so it is going to be kind of a nightmare. :scared:

I love it! I can't wait to read about it. I may have to copy the idea someday. ;)

I used 2 cameras on our last trip so I know what you mean.

Thanks! I'm excited to see how it goes & if Reid enjoys his night as mucha s we do. You should definitely do that on y'alls next WDW trip. I bet Willow would have so much fun in one of the kids club.

The two-camera thing (plus the phone camera) is such a PITA - why do I do it?????? :scared: :rotfl2:

You know, I wouldn't really mind treating myself to a fancy dinner. I actually don't mind doing something like that alone - haven't done it in years, but I think it could be fun. I will be reading your TR carefully for that update! :thumbsup2

It really is but sometimes I find it handy to just have my point & shoot and not have to take out my DSLR. On Reid's 1st trip to WDW, I had my point & shoot camera (which I lost on the 2nd night), then a disposable camera to replace the lost camera, then Ed went to Wal-Mart after leaving a park & bought my DSLR for me. And my lost camera was returned to me on the last day. So, I had pictures from 3 cameras. Talk about a nightmare!

I think you definitely deserve a nice dinner out! I'm just ready for our trip to get here. It's getting to that point where I can hardly contain myself with excitement. The next 81 days need to fly by..........quick!!!!

:rotfl2: That is INSANE!!!! Sometimes I do end up with tons of point-and-shoot pics, pics on my "good" camera (somewhere between point-and-shoot and DSLR - can't justify that one since I have NO idea what I'm doing), and iPhone pics (which somehow often turn out better than either of the two above cameras)! :scared: Since my phone was not working on this trip (wasn't going to pay roaming and Canada charges, etc. so just left it in the safe), I didn't end up using it much. Which was a mistake, of course, because it meant I got no video. Oops.....

I bet! It's so hard those last few months when the planning is basically done and you are just waiting for it to happen. And then suddenly, you will be 3 days out and panicking because there is no time left! :rotfl2:

Anthony has it and I have seen about half of it. What I saw was good though.

Of the 4 other women I went with I think only one liked it. I enjoyed Channing Tatum but that was really it I'm afraid. I thought the movie would be kind of light and funny but it was pretty dark and serious. I just wasn't expecting that. There is a scene with Matthew McCounaughey at the end:scared1: I don't think I can ever look at him the same! I do like Joe M too but he wasn't in it very much. I used to watch True Blood but I'm a season or 2 behind. The last season I watched was his first season.

I definitely wouldn't have thought it would be dark & serious. I don't know if I should see it if it will ruin my love for Matthew. :crazy2: Maybe I'll check it out once it comes to DVD.

So i am behind but I just had to tell you congrats. Running that long is great. I mean excellent. I never run i mean never unless im trying to stop Devyn from going into the street.
My goodness i can only imagine the questions Reid was asking.
Devyn is not quite at that point but my 4 year old nephew. Whew!

Thank you so much! Hopefully, now I can keep up with Reid when I'm chasing him around the backyard. :rotfl:

Oh just wait your turn is coming! Every day is jam packed full of questions from sunrise to sunset.

I feel like our trip is getting close yet is still so far away! I have started working on some Disney crafts this week that I will show to y'all later once they are complete. Today, I received in the mail the 1 piece for Ed's Mr. Smee costume that I needed to order. But, I need to do some work on it so I hope to do that tomorrow. Also, in sort of Disney related news, I got some fancy new running shoes this past weekend. Well, Ed forced me to go get them since my tennis shoes I've been using are at least 8 years old & have absolutely no support left. :rotfl: The new shoes are great & I even improved my run time by 1 minute/mile the other night. :woohoo:

But, let me give you wonderful people another update & finish up our day at MK! Real quick though - in case I haven't said this already, I really appreciate all of y'all reading along. And thank you to all who post as well! :goodvibes

Tuesday, October 1st (Part 2)

In my last update, I left off with us finishing up rides & lunch in Tomorrowland. One attraction that I forgot to mention was the Monster Inc. Laugh Floor. For some unknown reason, this is an attraction we haven't checked out. So, on our way out of Tomorrowland, I plan for us to stop there & get our laugh on!

Once we're out of Tomorrowland, we'll cut across the hub & head to Adventureland.

Our first stop will be to grab FP's here:

Once we have our cruise FP's in hand, we will head on over to here:

Then, it will be time to live the pirate's life!

This is one of our favorites! Who doesn't love this ride, right?!?

Once we've had enough of the pirate life, I'm hoping it will be time to go cruising in the jungle! After that, we'll probably take an ice cream break. Now, I know this is a DIS sin but.......I have never had a Dole Whip. But, I fully intend on changing that this year. So, I'll probably take this break time to try out the infamous Dole Whip & Ed (I'm sure) will get something else. Reid will share with whoever's selection he prefers. :rotfl2:

After a nice break, I'd like to find a spot for the parade if (1) it's getting close enough to parade time and (2) the boys will actually permit some parade watching. Neither one of them are big parade fans. And truth be told, I'll be okay if they do want to skip it.

If we do end up skipping the parade, we'll go & grab FP's for BTMR. Then, I'd like to see just how brave my child is & take him here:

*I can't believe I didn't have a decent picture of the Haunted Mansion. Thank you internet!

The Haunted Mansion! (*insert spooky ghost noise here*) I have been talking to him about this ride ever since we booked this trip. I am determined for him to try it. I just love this ride! I have explained to him that it's just "spooky fun" like Halloween & that none of it is real. I have also tried to tell him that it's Mickey's park & that Mickey wouldn't let anything bad happen to him. Have y'all seen the Disneyland game for the XBOX kinect? We have it & it's really cool. Reid loves to play it! Well, one of the games in it is the Haunted Mansion. You have to go through the mansion & shine lights on ghosts, etc. Anyway, I'm hoping that it will help give him the courage to ride! And if he's lacking a bit in courage, then I will try good old fashioned bribery. No, I'm not above bribery. :lmao:

Depending on what time it is & how well Reid did with Haunted Mansion, I'm hoping we can head to BTMR after Haunted Mansion. This is another one that I've been trying to prep him for trying. He does seem excited to try it. And he loves to watch the videos on YouTube. So, we'll just have to see how it goes. Hopefully, he'll get on the ride & have a great time. If not, we'll try again later in the trip or on our next trip.

Once we're done with subjecting our child to possibly-traumatizing new rides, we'll do one of two things:

1. Go eat dinner at Pecos Bills if we're hungry for dinner

OR

2. Head back to Fantasyland

If we eat first, we'll still head to Fantasyland afterwards. We'll need FP's for Peter Pan to ride at least one more time before we leave that night. We'll hit up the other rides around there as well. If we didn't eat at Pecos Bills, then we may eat at Pinocchio's Village Haus (even though it's not my fave).

After all of that, I'd like to try to hit up Buzz one more time for Reid. We'll either do more rides or go ahead & find a spot for Wishes which is at 9pm that night. Now, Reid is not a fan of fireworks. So, I'm contemplating bringing headphones or earplugs for him. Worst case scenario......he can't deal with them, I could send him & Ed to ride some rides & set up a meeting point with them for after the fireworks.

Once the fireworks are done, we will head to the exits along with the rest of humanity. :crowded: We'll go to the bus stop for OKW & head "home" for some rest!

Hello! As it happens, I went out and got new running shoes, too! I went to my training class on Monday in sneakers I borrowed from my mom that didn't fit exactly right, despite being in near-perfect condition. So, I better follow through with this. :rotfl: I just can't get over how pricey good sneakers have become. :confused3

As for your plans, they sound shockingly similar to my own touring of that area. :cool1: Is there any other way?? I am so crossing my fingers/praying/sending out good vibes into the universe that our measuring isn't way off and Max has (FINALLY) made 40". I'm planning as though he has...but we'll see this  if he hasn't. Especially given his new Star Wars obsession.

As for the dole whips...when I had my first Dole Whip float (which I think are vastly superior to the plain dole whip) it was a revelation. As you've probably heard me say before, there are many things that I think get overly-hyped on these boards...I didn't think my Dole Whip float was one of them. :rotfl:

They are expensive! I didn't even ask how much my shoes were & was quite surprised at the register! Ed said, "Yours are more expensive than mine were." I said, "Oh well! You're the one who made me come get them." :lmao:

That's so great that you're doing the training class! Keep it up! You can do it! :thumbsup2

Great minds think alike! :goodvibes It does seem the best way to tour with a little one. I'm going to put some extra good vibes out there for Max to reach 40" before the trip. I'm sure, like Reid, he's excited to ride Star Tours. pixiedust:

Ooohhh....you have me thinking I need to get the Dole Whip float! I do think that sounds even better than the regular Dole Whip. I'm excited to finally give it a try!
