I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

Thanks for the advice on the side ache... I actually read an article that talked about it... and I tried that technique and it worked well. I figure I need a list of tricks though...so definitely going to hold on to yours for when the one I used today doesn't work.
:thumbsup2

I hear ya on feeling like you are running slow. I know I tried to speed up today and ended up only ever so slightly faster. I am running though... so I guess regardless of pace, the key is I am doing it!

Ed keeps trying to tell me that it doesn't matter how fast or slow I am just that I'm out there doing it. But it just bums me out. Oh well. Hopefully, I'll finish up the C25K program in the next few weeks. I'm not sure if I'll move on to the Bridge to 10K program or just work on my time. Ed thinks I should do the Bridge to 10K progam. We'll see.

We went to see Brave last week too.:thumbsup2 Of course I started crying at the end:sad1: and but I was able to hide it from Caitllin. She is such a tattletale and remembers everything! She would probably tell everyone that "Mommy cried during Brave!"

I thought the movie was cute, just not what I was expecting. I do like that Merida does not get rescued by a prince and that Caitlin wants to take archery lessons. I guess she is a pretty good role model.

Reid is the same way - remembers everything & tells everything. Although, he's usually telling on Ed. :rotfl:

Yeah, it was definitely different from what I expected. But, it was good. I agree - I liked that Merida wasn't interested in boys & there wasn't a love story.

Your new dinner plans sound great:thumbsup2 I loved adult time on the Dream even if it was just an hour. I'll have to try the kids club at WDW on day.

Thanks! I hope Reid has a fun time at the club. Who knows....we may start a new family Disney tradition for our trips....always having 1 quiet meal while Reid is in a kids club. Do you think doing something like this would help your DH like being at Disney a little more? :confused3

:yay: for Citrico's and the Neverland Club! Who knew I was so influential? :lmao: Seriously, though, Max really enjoyed the opportunity to go and mingle with some kids his own age and we had a good time, too. I also thought it was pretty great that he wasn't all that far away from us, either. And, um, we loved Citrico's so much that Mark and I going back there for our anniversary dinner in July and I'm thrilled to be going there with Mary Ellen in October. :thumbsup2

And congrats on the running. I really want to get into it and do the couch to 5k program, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet. :rolleyes1 It looks like, at least that first week, I could probably start off with Mark and Max, as we have a lot of streets with sidewalks all around us.

:yay: for Citrico's and the Neverland Club! Who knew I was so influential? :lmao:

I'm so excited that I decided to do this! :yay: You're a powerful force on the DIS! :thumbsup2

Your review in your TR truly won me over to trying both the restaurant & the club. I think Reid, like Max, will enjoy getting to have a night with other kids. And how nice that you get to go back to Citricos 2 more times this year! :woohoo:

And congrats on the running. I really want to get into it and do the couch to 5k program, but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet. :rolleyes1 It looks like, at least that first week, I could probably start off with Mark and Max, as we have a lot of streets with sidewalks all around us.

Thanks! I really do like the program lets you go at your own pace. And you can repeat days if needed. I don't think I could have ever done any running if it weren't for this program. Trust me......if I can do this, you can do this! :goodvibes

I love your new plans!

A date night will be so nice for you and Ed! Citricos looks amazing:cloud9: I can't wait to hear about your dinner there.

I think the Neverland Club is the perfect place for a little Captain Hook! I saw a review of it in a TR and it looked so cute! I want to stay there:rolleyes1 I'm sure Reid will love it!

Sounds like a great night for all 3 of you!

I am usually one of those organized people! :rotfl2:

I don't know what it is about this move but I've just haven't been my normal moving self. Trust me - this isn't my 1st time at the rodeo. This is our 8th move & I ALWAYS have us unpacked & the house decorated within a week. Not this time! :sad2: I think it's because we've had to get a lot of new things for this house & that's kind of held up my unpacking & decorating. Hopefully, it'll all come together soon. I have a huge list of things that we must get done this week since we have family coming to visit this weekend. Let's hope it all happens! pixiedust:

if it makes you feel better, the last time we moved i was 6 months pregnant and it took me 8 months to get everything unpacked. you'll always have someone slower than you LOL

Hope everybody had a good Memorial Day weekend!

My dad & stepmom came in for a short visit from Georgia. So, I spent Saturday & Sunday cleaning, cooking & entertaining. I was very glad to have a nice quiet day with my boys on Monday.

We took Reid to see the Avengers on Monday. He is obsessed with Superheroes right now. He knows all of their superhero names & their "real" names. Needless to say, he loved the movie! My only problem with it is that it was 2 1/2 hours long....so that meant 3 potty breaks for him. Luckily, the bathroom was right next to our theater. :lmao:

I would also like to meet:

and

images

That's just a few of my favorite villains. If I could meet them, I would be the happiest girl on Earth! :cloud9:

I have to say that I'm really excited to see what the Villains Bash party is all about. I have a feeling that's it is going to be crazy busy though. :headache: The party goes until like 3 or 4am. Yeah, I don't think we'll make it that late. I think we've pretty much decided that we need to be leaving by 2am. It could possibly be before that.

But, by 2 am, we should be heading to the bus stops. I'm sure Mr. Reid will be fast asleep by then. Hopefully, we should all be in bed by 3am.

this sounds like so much fun!!!
i've been lucky enough to meet these two before. I really want to meet Cruella!

oh, and thanks for that review on Avengers. my parents asked us all to the movies a while ago, and at first i declined. then i remembered your review and changed my mind. i was shocked at how much James loved it. He and Maya played Iron Man and "Black Window" for weeks afterwards. And Maya also took 3 bathroom breaks :rotfl2:

I've read about how the party can get very crowded on certain nights, especially for character meet & greets. I think we'll have to be very selective about who we want to meet. I know Reid won't want to meet any of the villains, so I'm not too worried about them. Plus, I'll have (hopefully) met them the night before at the Villains Bash. As much as I would love to get our pics taken with the 7 Dwarves, I just don't see that happening. I think Mickey will be our main character we try to meet & maybe some of the other Fab Five.

Besides meeting Mickey, I'm sure Reid is going to want to trick-or-treat. We'll probably try to hit up a line or 2 but not too much more. Since we'll be eating at Cosmic Rays', we will have passed the Buzz Lightyear ride on the way there. Reid will probably be ready to go right there as soon as we're done eating. It's definitely a family favorite of ours, so I'm sure it'll be a must-do ride for the night. Other must-do rides will probably be:

Peter Pan
PotC
Tea Cups
Dumbo

I can't wait to see the new Storybook Circus area! We watched a video last week of the Dumbo circus tent play area. OMG! That place looks great! I just hope I can pry Reid away when it's our turn to go ride Dumbo. :lmao:

But, my absolute must-do for the night is this................

images

I can't even express how excited I am to see this parade. Reid & I both love Halloween so I think it'll be right up our alley. We watched a video of it on YouTube this weekend & that made our excitement grow even more. :hyper: Now, he keeps asking me to watch it.

I think we will try to see the 2nd showing of the parade since everyone says it's usually not as crowded. But, it'll also depend on how Reid is doing that night. If I don't think he's going to make it to the 2nd parade, then we'll have to watch the 1st. But, I will see this parade.

Other than those few things, I would also like to see Hallowishes. I'm really not trying to create a huge "must-do" list for us. I think we'll play it by ear mostly. I know we'll work in some rides because Reid won't allow us to be in MK and not ride some rides. It'll be fun if we get to meet some characters dressed in their Halloween costumes. But, I definitely don't want to spend the entire night waiting in lines. I really want to try & just enjoy the night & just decide at the moment what we want to do.

And Ed will be:

i'm obviously behind but i had to stop and ask how in the world you got your dh to agree to wearing tights? Mine won't even allow James to be Peter because of the tights. i want him to be Peter so badly. My dh is so odd sometimes.

Hallowishes is more of less 360- so while it wont be perfect, you can see it from most anywhere. last time we were at MNSSHP, my kiddos werent liking the noise from fireworks, so we watched them from the dance party while they danced with donald and daisy.

i completely get your costume soapbox. what's even worse, is they tend to extend it to plus size as well. there are some things that shouldn't come above certain sizes. i'm plus, i'm allowed to say that right? anyway, i know i don't want my booty almost hanging out.

Thanks! I'm really excited to have a date night....especially at a signature!

It really does look like a lot of fun! I can only imagine how easy it will be to get Reid to leave there later that night. :sad2:

if it makes you feel better, the last time we moved i was 6 months pregnant and it took me 8 months to get everything unpacked. you'll always have someone slower than you LOL

Oh my goodness! Well, that does make me feel better about my unpacking. But, that makes me feel really, really bad for you! I can't even imagine being 6 months pregnant having to do it. :sad2:

this sounds like so much fun!!!
i've been lucky enough to meet these two before. I really want to meet Cruella!

I'm really, really excited about the Villains Bash! :woohoo: I hope it doesn't disappoint. I bet Cruella would be a lot of fun to meet!

You are so welcome! I'm glad they enjoyed the movie! And I'm glad to know Reid isn't the only one who kept having to go potty. I was just glad the bathroom was right outside of our theatre. :rotfl:

i'm obviously behind but i had to stop and ask how in the world you got your dh to agree to wearing tights? Mine won't even allow James to be Peter because of the tights. i want him to be Peter so badly. My dh is so odd sometimes.

Don't worry.....lots of people wanted to know that same thing. :lmao: I actually found him a costume with a tunic & pants, no tights. I know it's not the "real deal" but I knew he would never go for tights. Not that I blame him. However, before purchasing the costume, I texted him offering him a different character to dress as, and he agreed. So, he is now going to be.....Mr. Smee! We have most of the components of the costume. I think he'll be much happier as Mr. Smee. :goodvibes

Hallowishes is more of less 360- so while it wont be perfect, you can see it from most anywhere. last time we were at MNSSHP, my kiddos werent liking the noise from fireworks, so we watched them from the dance party while they danced with donald and daisy.

Thank you so much for telling me this! Reid is not a fan of firework noise, so this info is very helpful! As long as I can see them, I'll be happy. It doesn't have to be the perfect view.

i completely get your costume soapbox. what's even worse, is they tend to extend it to plus size as well. there are some things that shouldn't come above certain sizes. i'm plus, i'm allowed to say that right? anyway, i know i don't want my booty almost hanging out.

I know, right?!? And I'm definitely not a skinny girl, so I completely understand! I really just don't understand who makes these costumes. :confused3

I hope everyone is having a great start to the weekend! :goodvibes

Tomorrow I'm headed to an outlet mall in Mississippi to do some shopping with friends I haven't seen in a while. They have a Disney Store outlet at this place so I'm crossing my fingers tight for some deals!

Anyway, I just had to post here that Reid's Captain Hook costume came in today! :woohoo: Well, technically it got delivered to someone else's home. But, the lady was nice enough to call me so I could go pick it up. I felt bad though because she said her little boys were all excited when they saw it was a box from the Disney store.

When I told her what it was, she said, "Oh thank goodness I didn't open it! They would've really thrown a fit over that!" :lmao:

But, I wanted to give y'all a preview of what Mr. Reid will look like for MNSSHP. So, without further ado.......Captain (Reid) Hook:

Sorry it's not the best picture. I'm obviously the only person in the world who can't take a decent picture with an iPhone. :confused3

Well, that's it for now. Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend!

That is the most adorable ( I mean pirate like...arrrr) costume ever! What a great costume for him!!:thumbsup2 Love it!:thumbsup2

You are allowed to be biased!! But he really is a cutie!! I went and checked out the disneystore costumes too...nice selection! Now if only I can convince DH we can buy them ahead of time and take them with us! MY DD's all pretty much want to be Merida, and we haven't even seen the movie yet!:rotfl:

But no...he wants to give them the whole nine yards again, going to DD and letting them pick there. (He really is a wondeful dad:love:) BUT I feel it is a little overwhelming for them.( and I want to avoid another meltdown day at DD) I am going to push for going your route and getting the costumes ahead of time!:thumbsup2

OMG! How cute is he?!?! I love the costume!!!

BTW, did you see the villains bash is now till 4am  10:30 to 4am. That is a LONG party. I almost dare say a "good value" considering how much MNSSHP and not as long.

I am making progress on your TR! :goodvibes

Comments:

Your son gets cuter in every pictures!

Your ADR day did not sound fun! :sad2:

Cool New Orleans pictures. I have never visited New Orleans and its definitely on my bucket list. Looks like a very cool city.

Yeah for your first race. That's pretty cool! I hope the training is going well.

Ok, back to read more!

Thank you! Last year was the 1st time I had bought Reid's costume from Disney Store. I think they're costumes are priced right along the same lines of what I pay at the party store. And their's are much better quality. He still plays in his Buzz costume from last year.

I can't blame your DD's for wanting to be Merida.....I love her!

I saw that! It is a pretty good value. If we didn't have Reid & knew we could sleep in as much as we wanted the next day, I would shut it down! But, we know we'll never make it that late. :sad2:

AHHHH it's perfect!!!! I love it!

Thank you! I was so excited when he put it on.

Love the costume! Too cute! I hope you find some deals at the Disney Store!

Thank you! I'm going to try to post pictures later of all my treasures I bought at the Disney store. I could've bought everything in there. :lmao:

I am making progress on your TR! :goodvibes

Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Your ADR day did not sound fun! :sad2:

It was so frustrating. :headache: I was already stressed about getting the ADRs I wanted & then all of that made it worse. I so happy when I was done.

Cool New Orleans pictures. I have never visited New Orleans and its definitely on my bucket list. Looks like a very cool city.

Thank you! I think it's definitely worth visiting at least once. And there is a lot to do & see here in south Louisiana. And if you like to eat.....we're definitely the place to visit. :rotfl2:

Yeah for your first race. That's pretty cool! I hope the training is going well.

I am getting close to finishing the C25K program....3 more weeks to go! :woohoo: I'm excited and nervous about doing my 1st race.

Hope everyone has had a fabulous Saturday!

I spent the day shopping at the outlets in Gulfport, MS with two of my old co-workers. I ended up with many new Disney treasures for the family! :woohoo: So, I just had to post some pics for y'all!

Now, these 1st two are not from the Disney store but they do pertain to our trip.

I bought these Crocs to wear with my Wendy costume. They are extremely comfortable!

And then, I bought these for Reid because he needed some new summer shoes:

On to the Disney store treasures!

Cups for me & Reid:

Headband for moi:

You can't see it too well in the picture, but the little jack-o-lantern has blinky lights! And it was only $4!

Shirts for Reid:

Shirts for Ed:

Shirts for me:

These next 2 for me were only $5/each!!

Those are my Disney treasures I came home with today!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! :goodvibes

Oh my... I'm in love wuth Captain Reid....I absolutely live the costume.

Wow...you really raked it in shopping! Great buys (live them all, but especially the Snow White shirt

Awww, thank you! :goodvibes I am more than happy with his costume. It really is perfect!

Wow...you really raked it in shopping! Great buys (live them all, but especially the Snow White shirt

I sure did! :woohoo: Thanks! That Snow White shirt is definitely one of my favorite purchases of the day. And to think....it was only $5!!!! :yay:

I love your Disney Store purchases! Everything is so cute. We have a Disney Outlet about 20 minutes from us and since church was cancelled this morning my day just became wide open...:scratchin (we were in the middle of the awful storms Friday night but thankfully we didn't lose power but the church still doesn't have it.) I may have to make a trip although I did just make a rather large online purchase!
