I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

:yay:No worries amanda...we are still here. :goodvibes And don't worry about te C25K...you're super duper busy! That's one busy day you'll have for race day...you should definitely plan a nap and then swap shifts and let Ed nap! I think letting Reid swim will keep him super happy and tire him out a bit :)

And IMO any WDW planning is super exciting :banana::banana:

Awww, thanks!

It has actually surprised me that I've missed running/walking at night. I really hope I can find time next week to get back into the groove of it.

I do think I'll have to nap that morning since I'll be up late that night as well. Thankfully, I'm a night owl & usually get my 3rd wind come 10pm. :rotfl: I feel confident that swimming will do the trick in wearing out Reid. I just hope I'm right!

And y'all leave tomorrow, right?!? How exciting!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Since I've been MIA from RC thread for so long.....I need to catch up on where you're staying now! I see Pop in your ticker....is it all POP or are y'all doing a split stay?

You know I'm still here! Like I said, I totally get it!

Good luck getting back into your couch to 5k plan! I bet you'll do great in your race. Your day sounds good! I mean a big reason for your trip was the races anyway, right? It's cool to hear about them.

I hope you can get Reid good and tired! Oh man, I can't imagine not needing to sleep, haaha.

Thanks! I knew we'd have to have some plans to occupy Reid that day. If it were just me & Ed, we would spend the whole day doing nothing. But, that doesn't fly with a 4 year old. Hopefully, it'll be enough to keep him busy & happy.

You can really feel my pain, huh? The one thing I will give Reid is that he does go to bed pretty well. He goes to bed between 730 & 8 every night. The only time I have trouble with him is if, by some miracle, he took a nap that day. So, that's rarely an issue. :lmao: Reid wakes up early, too! He gets up with Ed when he's getting ready for work (like 530, 6am). I'm like, "Could you please sleep in?!? You aren't in school yet! You & Mommy can sleep!" :headache: But, he never takes my advice.

Oh, I know it'll work for me....let's just hope it works for Reid! :lmao: I do think it will but you just never know. That's true.....the pirate cruise is late too, right? I had thought about doing that during our trip.

Thanks! Moving is stressful, right?!? I wish I could fast forward a couple of months so that everything would be settled. We will really need this vacation by the time it gets here.

I just noticed that on your ticker! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
I know you have to be excited! Will you be doing a TR when y'all return?

Wishes is at 10 on Monday when we are doing the pirate cruise. If we were at home my kids would have no problem whatsoever staying up that late but since I actually want them to be awake they will probably sleep! We are having an early dinner at Trex and I'm hoping they will nap or at least rest until we head to the Contemporary around 8.

Moving is so stressful. Our lease is actually up in Jan so we may have to move again as there are things about the house we are in that my husband doesn't like. I love the house though and hope we can just extend the lease as I don't want to move again!

I am excited but I still haven't packed! My husband's family is arriving today and will be here until we leave and my son graduates from pre school on Thursday. I need to get busy!

I am thinking about doing a TR because we do have some cool things planned and it would be fun to relive the trip.

You know I'm still here! Like I said, I totally get it!

Yay! I'm so glad to have y'all still here, following along! :grouphug:

Good luck getting back into your couch to 5k plan! I bet you'll do great in your race. Your day sounds good! I mean a big reason for your trip was the races anyway, right? It's cool to hear about them.

Thank you! I'm very excited to see what the Disney races are like. Ed has done local races but this will be my 1st ever. I have a feeling it will give us one more thing to love about Disney! :goodvibes

I hope you can get Reid good and tired! Oh man, I can't imagine not needing to sleep, haaha.

Me, too! I love to sleep....I don't know where my child gets his no-need-for-sleep attitude. :confused3

Oh yeah, they always choose to sleep at the worst possible moments, right?!? I've heard so many good things about TRex! I can't wait to hear about the Pirate Cruise!

I know what you mean.....I was trying to talk Ed out of buying a house this year just because I didn't want to pack & unpack again. :rotfl2: He put his foot down about that. And I have to say I'm happy he did but it's just so tiring.

I am excited but I still haven't packed! My husband's family is arriving today and will be here until we leave and my son graduates from pre school on Thursday. I need to get busy!

I refuse to pack until the day before leaving. I love the packing part so much! How sweet that your little boy is graduating from preschool! Reid will be in preK4 next year. It's so bittersweet watching them grow up. You definitely have a busy week before y'all leave. Good luck with everything!

I am thinking about doing a TR because we do have some cool things planned and it would be fun to relive the trip.

I did my 1st TR last year & I really enjoyed it! I say do it! And when you start it up, make sure to post a link to it here on my TR. :thumbsup2

Thank you! Yes it will be busy but on the other hand it is making the time go by fast before the trip.

I haven't had time to be sad about my son's preschool graduation yet...I will think about it after Disney.

I understand about the not wanting to move, but how wonderful that you have bought a house! I hope you are there for many happy years:goodvibes

I think I will def try and write a TR when we get back! It should be a fun trip and we will have a few "characters" with us. My parents decided they wanted to go with us, then my mom invited my sister and her family and then my brother decided to go too. They will all be at a timeshare though and we will be at CBR. This includes my brother who HATES crowds and hot weather :rolleyes1 and my dad who I never thought would step foot on Disney property again :scared1:

Should be interesting :lmao:

Yes, sounds interesting for sure! You definitely have to write a TR....I can't wait to hear all about it!

Glad to have you back updating. I hear you on the "not sleeping kid"; our oldest was like that...he never wanted to sleep (the other one would sleep the day away if you let him and still would :lmao:).

How great that your guys want to go and support you in the race!

hooray for time for an update.

Hope things slow down for you soon.

Just make sure in trying to tire Reid out you don't get exhausted yourself :goodvibes;) Your plans sound great for your first few days with race events:thumbsup2

Thank you! :goodvibes

I love to sleep now but my mom tells me that I was the same way when I was little. So, maybe there's hope for Reid. :rotfl: I'm like you're youngest - I could easily sleep a day away. Not that anyone here is going to let me actually do that. :lmao:

How great that your guys want to go and support you in the race!

They really are great! I think I'll keep them. :rotfl2:

hooray for time for an update.

:yay: Indeed! :yay:

Hope things slow down for you soon.

Thanks! I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. It just seems like a neverending tunnel. Then, I've been sick this week so it's definitely not helping matters. :sad2:

Just make sure in trying to tire Reid out you don't get exhausted yourself :goodvibes;) Your plans sound great for your first few days with race events:thumbsup2

I know, right?!? That's exactly my fear...I'll be exhausted & he'll still be running laps around me. :lmao: Thanks....I'm hoping that my planning for the races are good. There's just a few unknown factors since it's our 1st Disney race experience. But, hopefully, it'll all work out just fine.

Still here! Swimming sounds like a good plan to wear little Reid out!

I've officially decided to start the c25k next week and at least run the Halloween 5k next fall but hopefully the wine and dine half! I have over a year so I should be able to do it!

Hope all is going well with the house!

Yay! :yay: So glad you're sticking with me!

If swimming doesn't wear him out.....well.....y'all just wish me luck. :rotfl2:

That's fantastic! I think you'll definitely have time to train for the Wine & Dine Half. I really need to get back into my C25K stuff next week. My goal is to start back up on Wednesday.

Best of luck in your C25K training! :thumbsup2

Hope all is going well with the house!

Thank you! It's coming all together....slowly but surely!

Hi Amanda! How did I NOT see you had a PTR going? Anyway, I'm here and I'm now going back to read the whole thing!!! :thumbsup2 Yayayay!!! It'll keep me going while Emma and I are passing these looooong 3 weeks! :)

I completely understand your busy-ness!! I can't even imagine moving, and having time for the boards! You're day sounds great!! :thumbsup2 I'd love to run in a race in Disney! I'm not a runner, but I think Disney would be a very good motivator (and a great distraction)!! :rotfl2:

Joining in Amanda!

I didn't know you had started a PTR until I saw your signature on your pos of my updatepalooza!

The race sounds great. A good friend is doing the ToT race this year, and we are discussing doing it in 2013 for our ladies trip. She said well see if it kills her this year lol.

A suggestion from someone driving from your neck of the woods. When we went with the 3 year old at Christmas, we headed around 4 from the mall of la area, and drive until Alexa fell asleep and kept driving to Talahassee. Week of chips even with traffic we made it out there about 10:30-11pm. And it only left us with like a 4 1/2 hour drive to entertain Lexa on. If y'all drove like that, you wouldn't have to get up quite so early to be on the road and Reid would sleep through more of the ride.

Looks like your plans are really coming together. The races look like they're so much fun. Are you guys going to do the all night party after your DH runs his race? Can't wait to hear more!

Hope you are able to tucker Reid out.:hyper:

How did I miss this update?? :confused3 I feel you on the whole not sleeping much thing. Max loves to stay up long after he should go to sleep, doesn't nap, and gets up pretty early. Whenever I would see those kids at Disney just passed out in their strollers, I'd get so jealous. Max would never do that! :rotfl: Although, Disney is the one place I can often get him to take a nap. ::yes::

Welcome! I'm so happy to have you joining in!

The last few weeks leading up to vacation are always the slowest! :sad2: I hope the time goes by really quick for y'all! :goodvibes

I'm so happy things are finally starting to calm down so I can get my DIS time. It's so hard trying to catch up when you don't get on here regularly.

Thanks! I'm really excited to experience a Disney race. I'm not a runner either - nor have I ever been one. But, I figured Disney is the only thing that could possibly get me motivated to get into it. We'll see how I feel about running after the race. :rotfl:

I think a Disney race would be a lot of fun for a ladies trip. Even if y'all didn't do the main event race, there's always the 5K. :thumbsup2

Funny you say that about Tallahassee - we were discussing our stopping point this week. I was thinking of stopping around Pensacola. But, Ed has said that he really does want to stop closer to Tallahassee. I do think it would make our Friday a lot easier.

Looks like your plans are really coming together. The races look like they're so much fun. Are you guys going to do the all night party after your DH runs his race? Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks! We are going to do the party after the race. I just don't know how long we'll make it. :lmao:

Me, too! That boy just has endless amounts of energy.

We've tried putting Reid down later than his normal bedtime on the weekends, in hopes of him "sleeping in" the next morning. Yeah - that never works! :lmao: I will say that, luckily, Reid will fall asleep in his stroller at Disney. But, he doesn't usually do it every day. I have to walk around for a little bit (usually after lunch) to get him to nod off. But, sometimes it just doesn't work.

Hope everybody had a good Memorial Day weekend!

My dad & stepmom came in for a short visit from Georgia. So, I spent Saturday & Sunday cleaning, cooking & entertaining. I was very glad to have a nice quiet day with my boys on Monday.

We took Reid to see the Avengers on Monday. He is obsessed with Superheroes right now. He knows all of their superhero names & their "real" names. Needless to say, he loved the movie! My only problem with it is that it was 2 1/2 hours long....so that meant 3 potty breaks for him. Luckily, the bathroom was right next to our theater. :lmao:

Anyway....on to an update! When I last left off, it was Saturday, 9/29. I will run the 5K in the morning & then try to wear Reid out that afternoon. When we left off, I was waking Ed up.

Once Ed is up, we plan to go grab a quick & lite bite for dinner. Again, we won't be on the DDP at this point. Also, Ed really doesn't need anything heavy for dinner that night. As much as I hate to say it, we'll probably just hit up a food court again. :sad2: It'll be either the one at POFQ or POR - just depends on which one we'd rather visit......again.

After dinner, we'll head back to the room. I will attempt to get Reid to go to sleep. Ed will probably rest for just a little bit as well. Then, he will have to get up to get ready & leave for the race.

I'm still a little confused about when Reid & I should leave for the race. If we leave with Ed, I don't think we could get into DHS at that time. So, as of right now, I'm thinking Ed will leave before us. It'll probably be around 8 pm. The race starts at 10pm. Then, I'll probably get Reid & I up around 9pm or 930 pm to get up, get ready & get on a bus to DHS. Supposedly, DHS will open at 1030pm to the family/friends that have purchased tickets for the "Disney Villains Hollywood Bash". I purchased tickets for Reid & I just a couple of weekends ago. Here they are:

Aren't they cute?!? Ed doesn't need a ticket since he's running in the 10 mile race. During the Bash, certain rides will be open: Muppets, ToT, RNRC, Star Tours, TSM and the Great Movie Ride. I'm really hoping that Reid & I can get there & ride TSM once before finding a spot to try & see Ed cross the finish line. I know he's really excited to be running his 1st Disney race, especially since it's centered around his favorite ride. And I'm very proud of him for doing it. I really hope I can get a spot where I can see him cross the finish line & take some pictures of him. And then, I need pictures of him getting his medal! :goodvibes

So, yes, I am going to be a bad mother & keep up my 4 year old for the race & party. Or at least I'm going to try. :lmao: Guess I won't be getting the "Mother of the Year" award. Although, I probably wasn't in the running anyway. :rotfl2: I'm sure I'll get many dirty looks for having a little one out so late. Oh well....if I can't keep my child up late at Disney, where can I? I just hope he'll actually stay up. I would love for him to see Ed cross the finish line & then enjoy the party with us.

Also part of the party? Villain meet & greets of course! I can't even begin to tell y'all how excited I am about this!!! I absolutely ADORE Disney villains! So, I don't know exactly who all will be there. But, I can tell you my absolute favorite villain who I'm "dying" to meet:

images

Get it.....I'm "dying" to meet him? :lmao: Ok sorry....moving on. Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies. And one of the big reasons is because of Hades! He cracks me up! I will FREAK OUT if I get to meet him.

I would also like to meet:

That's just a few of my favorite villains. If I could meet them, I would be the happiest girl on Earth! :cloud9:

The one thing I know Ed will want to do after the race?

Of course he'll want to ride his favorite Disney ride at least once that night before we leave! I wouldn't mind taking a quick drop myself. :rolleyes1 And, if I can, I'll also take a quick spin on one of my faves:

I have to say that I'm really excited to see what the Villains Bash party is all about. I have a feeling that's it is going to be crazy busy though. :headache: The party goes until like 3 or 4am. Yeah, I don't think we'll make it that late. I think we've pretty much decided that we need to be leaving by 2am. It could possibly be before that.

But, by 2 am, we should be heading to the bus stops. I'm sure Mr. Reid will be fast asleep by then. Hopefully, we should all be in bed by 3am.

I hope that you can get on TSM! That'd be fun for you and Reid to do together! You have to get pics of Ed finishing! That's a huge deal!

So, yes, I am going to be a bad mother & keep up my 4 year old for the race & party. Or at least I'm going to try. :lmao: Guess I won't be getting the "Mother of the Year" award. Ummmm, to heck with 'em. If anyone is judging you they can take a flying leap. If letting your son watch his dad accomplish a goal that he's been working toward (especially such a healthy goal) is bad mothering, then I'm a bad mom. I'd do the exact same thing.
