I *finally* decided to buy into DVC!!

I am SO EXCITED! After thinking on it for YEARS (no joke), I have FINALLY made an offer on a DVC Resale! It is 220 points at OKW with an October UY. There are 10 points coming in October of this year, and 220 coming next year. I hesitate to put what my accepted offer per point was, because I don't want to jinx it. I promise to update with that information once the initial documents are signed and it gets sent to Disney for ROFR.

I do have a question. *IF* all goes well, and Disney doesn't take it, and all the documents get signed in a timely fashion, would I be able to book a reservation for the end of January next year? I have a trip I was planning from Jan 30-Feb 3. Would I have to borrow the 220 points to do so, since there will only be 10 available in October?

Jan. 30 - Feb. 3 is not a very “competitive” time for DVC, so your chances are good. The 10 points you have coming this October are good for stays from 10/1/18 through 9/30/19, so yes, you’ll need to borrow some points from your October 2019 UY. But you don’t have to borrow all 220 points, only the number you need for whatever you book.

If your offer if accepted and it passes ROFR, i would expect you should be owners with points in your account before the 7 month window. At that point, I would not expect too much trouble getting a room unless you are looking for one of the value studios. you will need to borrow points from next year, but only the amount needed.
