I finally booked a room at a moderate. We usually stay at the All Stars. With the new discount codes I was able to book the French Quarter for a great price. NOw I have questions about room locations. I would like to be close to the main bus stop but would also like a location convenient to the main pool. Any building/room suggestions?

I'm staying at the French Quarter in November. I read in one of my many WDW books(which also offers a map layout of the resort) that buildings 5 and 2 are best to be near the pool and the main building. Building 2 is a smoking building where 5 is not. But it also says that most rooms at POFQ are within easy distance of most everything. I requested building 5! Have fun!

Wendell,

We stayed here for the first time in 2000. We were in the far end of building 3 and found everything to be very close. We loved it and are going back in Dec. We usually stay in Deluxes but this resort is really great.

We had a room on the back of building #7, which NO ONE ever recommends and we had NO complaints!!! We may have been in one of the out of the way buildings, but everything was still close! We loved it all!!!!

We've stayed at POFQ twice - first trip in 1999, we were in building 7, water view, supposedly the farthest away from everything. If you walked REAL slow, it maybe took 5 minutes to walk to the food court and bus stop. Last year, we were in building 4. Down the steps, along the sidewalk and we were at the bus stop, and our room was just around the corner from the food court.

No matter which building you stay in, you're not far from anything. It's a beautiful resort, and we're planning on staying there again next summer!

Thanks everyone for your quick, positive responses. I am not even going to worry about making a building request. You have all added to my excitement about staying at French Quater. You are all wonderful.

We stayed in building 7. We liked this location. It was NOT too far from either the bus stop or main building. We liked this building because we had some privacy too. It is a nice resort and we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

We've stayed in building one a few times & felt like we were not vary far from anyhting we needed like the pool, food court, gift shop, busses, etc. Have fun & enjoy French Quarter!!

You will really like this resort. We stay there each year...except last year when it was closed:(

Our favorite bldg is the garden/standard view in bldg. 5. We've also stayed in bldg. 4 and 6. We prefer bldg. 4 over 6.

But, I don't think there is a bad spot at the resort. Very compact and easy to get around.

We have stayed three times and always get the same room! End of the hall, Third floor Building Three (One king bed.. two people). We love Bldg 3 because it is closest to the busses (but you can't hear them!). Great when you are dragging yourself back from the parks at the end of the day.. just a few steps away!

Hi Wendell. You will like the resort. It is small compared to the others, and everything is close by. I have stayed there once for two nights several years ago.
We arrived at night and I remember how pretty it was with the New Orleans look.
The food court was strange though. Sort of had a warehouse feel to it with these huge madi gras type masks hanging overhead. It may be completely different now.
Probably wouldn't stay there again, but all the Disney resorts are great! My favorite is Riverside.:D Take a walk over. It is close by and just a nice leisurely stroll.
