I feel very old today!

This morning at 7AM I went to a meeting for parents of incoming 6th graders at the junior high. (I missed the evening meeting because DD#1 forgets to bring mail home!) Luckily I had taken the day off so I could go. The fact that the oldest is almost in junior high was bad enough....but I took the day off because my baby, DS (almost 5) graduated from preschool today! You can bet I was weepy. Thank goodness DD#2 is just going from 2nd to 3rd grade, no major milestones! Next year kindergarten, grade 3 and grade 6!

i understand how you feel.... my DS10 is going into the 5th grade this year....my DD11 starts 6th grade this coming school year... and i was feeling pretty old"ish" too....
until i went to her graduation and all DD11's friends came up to me and were hugging me and talking to me like was a "friend" instead of a "mom"...kinda cool...

I had the same kind of moment earlier this year. I was talking to my 6th graders on the first day of class and it finally hit me that my daughter is only one year younger than they are. I am not ready for the teenage years!
