I know what you mean. Every time I price a Disney cruise I end up talking myself out of it. :lmao: I really want to go someday.

It's pretty amazing how it adds up. Not sure I even want to figure what our next trip is going to cost!

Honestly, the 3 day cruises are not worth it when you add up all the travel and expenses. I won't go for less than a week (at minimum a 4 day cruise and 3 at WDW) although with the prices for the Dream, I won't consider a less than 7 day cruise. The shorter cruises are just too expensive right now.

Wow thats alot for only 3 days

Hubby and I are doing a 7 day cruise to Bermunda in a outside cabin for 2400.00.

Last time we went on a 3 nighter is ended up being right around 6,800 but worth every penny.

OMG- totally crazy, for only 3 days of cruising (unless you plan on spending more time in FL after/before cruising:confused:

In 2004 we did a 7 night Disnry cruise, 2 adults, 2 kids, inside cabin. 2800 plus tips. I doubt you will ever see that again. Dh and I would like to do a cruise this spring. You can be sure it will not be with Disney.

We did a non disney out of NY for a week on Norwegain for 5 adults and it was less the $5500 with the out of pocket items too. That was peak season window rooms, transportation to the dock, It started at $850, Then the prepaid gratuities, tax, we ate a few pay dinners for $25 and $10, on the island a taxi to the beach and back, a fairie over. DD swam with the dolphins.

The rates drop in Sept. now that I rethought, I am planing an early Sept 12 instead of June.
I can't justify the Disney cruise when we have that many, plus they are not little anymore. They love the activities, and island.
My problem next year, is the cats. The older son stayed home this year and we are going to Disney with dgs. But, next year I have been saving and want all of us to go.

We did a 3 night cruise with 2 adults and 2 kids (1 an infant) and it costs just a little more than $1000. We added it on to our WDW vacation. I couldn't justify separate travel expenses just to take a cruise. We drove to Orlando, so the extra gas to CC didn't add too much to the cost of our trip. Maybe consider doing something like that instead of making it a separate trip?

Shorter cruises have always been pretty expensive compared to the per day cost of a 7 day. I was a travel agent for 27 years and the only people who took 3 day cruises were folks who only had 3 days. Even the five day programs are less. Chek it out.

I have wanted to add a couple of days of cruising to our Disney package, but it is too darn expensive.

This is why we did a land/sea vacation. I figured if I was going to shell out that much money for 3 days I may as well add some WDW fun to the expense as well ;)

that's how I've always felt with cruises. Any cruise. I was trying to get a Mexico cruise going in the family, but the expense was too high for the length...but then I just like long vacations.

They want us to pay 100.00pp for Sail and Sign + 300.00

That sounded funny to me, so I looked around online, and it seems that it's only a *deposit*, not an actual charge. At least according to Carnival's website (which is where googling "sign and sail" brought me).
