I feel sick, can't get Airmiles passes for April

I can't believe this. I have booked flights and hotels, all non refundable, for SIX people, leaving end of april...I have been saving my airmiles to use to get passes, since we've used Airmiles several times before, AT THE SAME TIME OF YEAR, and had no troubles.
I went online to book the passes yesterday, but see that the 5 day park hoppers from Airmiles are only good until April 14, 2011. I emailed and spoke on the phone to Airmiles and they both told me they don't know if offering the Disney passes will be extended.
It will be a huge financial surprise to have to now purchase 6 tickets.

I see that currently the passes are being offered at the "low season/deal" amount of airmiles, I"m hoping, hoping that means soon they'll pop the passes back up to the regular amount of Airmiles, and have the spring/summer dates come out.

Can anyone shed some light on this? I feel like crying :sad2:

thanks

Are the passes only good until the April 14th or do you have to purchase by the 14th? If not can you use the your miles for Disney gift cards? Maybe you can do that and use them for food and spending.

:goodvibes

There are fewer and fewer seats available for rewards travel nowadays... To book with miles You have to book well in advance, as far out as 10+ months!

Oops... nevermind... I see you were talking about DLR passes!

The special tickets must be USED by the 14th. I hope that she can get gift cards as well. :thumbsup2

OP wasn't looking to book the airfare with miles, she wanted to use her miles for park tickets....but the ones they offer have to be used by April 14th.

Yea realized that after I posted my reply! :crazy2:

We get our park hoppers through Airmiles almost every time we go & have run into having to wait for our dates to be released quite a few times. I have found in the past that they release them by season (I am assuming that this is because there are some specials which are only offered seasonally>5 for 3, etc & to have to many dates listed might be confusing to some?). I think for our last trip (which was this past Dec) we had to wait until October sometime to get them. But with that being said, I guess they can discontinue the parkhoppers at any point in time. I sure hope that they don't!!! That's a huge part of the reason that we can go so often. HTH at least a bit? :)

ETA: I did just notice that you have used them for park hoppers at the same time before. Do you remember when you got the passes last time? They should release them pretty quick here if they are going to as I also just realized that the end dates of the ones listed on the site are 3 months away. I'll be hoping that they do for you!!!!

I too am waiting for Airmiles to have the regular hoppers available, I am in the same boat, but with only 4 people. I assumed that they would post them closer to when the current promotion is over. This promoton is also on the disneyland website and expires the same day. I would say wait for a while and see what happens :rolleyes1 It is frustrating to think about how much it could cost, but I am going to hold out hope for now. :)

We've used Airmiles for tickets the last two trips. We've decided to do a last minute trip in a few days and i don't have enough Airmiles but thanks to Disboards I found Getawaytoday.com and we've booked 4 nights at the Hyatt in a kids suite and 4 park hopper passes for 1400.00. Considering that the room alone on the Hyatt website is just over 1000.00, it's like we're getting 4 passes for the price of two! I know this doesn't help the OP if their hotel is nonrefundable but maybe it will help someone else.

Argh!!! I feel your frustration, OP. Last year, there was a point where they offered 2 different time frames, several weeks at least before the expiry date of April ended - they showed that the one that was slightly less air miles expired on April 14th or whatever, then there were tickets that came up showing the new expiry date, I think it was the end of that year. I am positive and very confident that they will come up before your trip. To my recollection, it took less than 2 weeks to ship out and receive (Alberta.) Just keep looking daily. I am positive that they will show up again.

Also: You can use those passes to upgrade to an annual pass if you plan on going next year. The price difference will be whatever dollar amount shows on the back of the ticket, and what the annual fee is, around $329 or something like that? With 20% discount at Hojo's, 10% discount in the parks, with a group of 6 might make sense to upgrade one right away to an AP to be able to get that savings...

I have also heard you can upgrade to one more day (5 day to a 6 day pass) by paying the difference but you'd have to ask them at the ticket centre before ever using them.

I hope they come out with the new passes soon :flower3: Thanks for posting about the Park Hoppers - I had no idea! I usually use my Air Miles for Keg and Starbucks cards :upsidedow I think I'll save up and save some money for the next trip :thumbsup2

I also hope they come out with the new passes soon - and didn't know either, that airmiles had parkhoppers. Good to know for next time!

Bumpity bump... Air Miles is now offering a selection of passes; the ones valid until April 14th are lower cost (fewer air miles) than the ones valid up until the end of Dec. but at least they got the new ones up now.

Make sure you order the right date park hoppers if you place an order with them.

:)

I wouldn't panic. When I went to redeem my Airmiles in December for the Jan - April passes they were not available and the person I spoke to at Airmiles freaked me out by suggesting that they may not carry them again. They did, I just had to wait a few weeks.
As a side note, when they were finally posted again on the Airmiles site the date listed for the passes were Jan 1- Jan 15. I assumed it was a typo and called to confirm. The person I spoke to "assured" me it wasn't a typo and yet a week later the dates on the site were changed. I have never heard of two week passes. Obviously the person I spoke to was wrong. Although I have talked to a few really good travel agents through Airmiles, the people I have dealt with for general redemption's (ie Disney Tickets) don't seem to have all the facts.
I'm sure the new passes will be up mid April.

This is why I bumped the thread, the tickets ARE available online through air miles now for tickets up to April 14th and for tickets from April 15th - Dec. 31st.

Please, one more thing - if anyone orders the new parkhoppers from Air Miles that expire on Dec. 31st, please, can you post what the ticket states that the value is (how much money) because I want to see if it's worth it to upgrade to an annual pass if we go again before the year is up. Thanks!!

Please also mention if it is an adult or child pass, and how many days it is for.

Also - how many days from date of ordering did it take to come in?

Thanks!:goodvibes

Hi, here is the scoop on the Airmiles tix. I ordered my tickets on Mar 16. They came in today, I had to pick them up at the courier store. I ordered 7 day Hoppers, they are not discounted, as far as I can tell. The Adult is $221 and the child is $195. This is $1 cheaper than Flightcentre. I have to purchase one more Adult from Flightcentre, so I knew the prices.

I just bought 7-day PH passes from Flightcentre and they were $204 for an adult. When I called to by then the agent quoted me a different price but I directed him to their website where it says $204.

Thank you!! I also ordered an air miles one last week, will let you guys know the delivery time from date of order, as well as price shown on ticket, when it arrives. We need more airmiles, lol!!

Edited to add: Only $108 USD more to upgrade the air miles adult ticket to an annual pass that gives you 10% off meals, etc., as well, a possible other trip next year before expiry? Pretty good deal to upgrade if you think you will be going back within one year, for a few days or so.

For the life of me I can not find the parkhoppers on their website, would you be able to let me know how you saw them there, what links to follow?? Thanks if you don't mind.
