I feel like such a bad mom

Yesterday my DS 2 fell and hit his head on the first step of my stairs (right on his eye) now he has the nastiest shiner I have ever seen on anyone let alone a 2 year old

But he is sure a cute Superman (costume) I hope to have pics soon.

Don't let one black eye worry you. There will be worse. Little boys get all kinds of bumps and bruises...

I have a photo of my son with a shiner at about the same age. He fell into a dining room chair.

Oh the poor thing. Hope its not hurting him too much.
Im right with you. Today DS(3 1/2) wiped out on our street. The whole side of his face is all cut up and bruised. Of course we put bandaids on it and everyone thought it was part of his Captain Hook costume, but it still doesnt look good.

Poor Thing! Remember, this will pass. My sons have had all sorts of bumps and bruises. It doesn't feel good!

Oh, don't feel like you aren't a good mom. Accidents happen and there isn't anything that we can do to prevent them. I hope that he is feeling OK.

[color=3300ff]I must be a bad Aunt than. I was babysitting my nephew (he was 3 at the time) and I was pushing a neighbor girl on a swing we had made out of an old log. Right as I gave her a push he stepped behind her and the log smacked him right in the face.
His eye was black and blue and completely swelled shut. I felt horrible and I thought my sister was going to kill me.
He's almost 11 now and he likes to remind me of the time I "smacked him in the eye."[/color]

Both me & my brother are bleeders. We have pix of us at ages 4 & 5 at Canobie Lake Park on the cars and BOTH of us have TWO black eyes. My mom says no matter how good of a parent you are...you cannot predict everything. Don't give it another thought. Take alot of pix of him, you'll smile about it years from now just like we do.

I know how you feel. My DD 9 months crawled right into the corner of the entertainment center and banged up her eye. So she was Tigger (costume) with a black eye.
