I feel like I'm just not meant to go back disney

Not feeling much love here:lmao:

OP, sorry that you have to cut your stay short. It's a lot of work and excitement getting all the ADRS and figuring out just how you want to spend each day:) Going from 14 days to 8 definately changes the trip. Maybe you should start your planning from scratch and get the best bang for your 8 days:laughing: and save your 14-day itinerary for the next trip.

We want to go in the fall but we can't find out whether or not DH has more vacation time. HR has been dropping the ball and not giving an answer. It's driving me up the wall! I really hope we find out tomorrow.

At least you still have most of your trip planned and ready to go. :)

hONESTLY 2 weeks is too long for WDW, IMO.
8 days is wayyyy longer than I would go-so enjoy those 8 days!:)
WE never go for more than 4 or 5 days.

only 8 days? i wouldnt even bother going. i think you are right, when you say that you werent meant to be there.

When I said I felt like I wasn't meant to go back it's because I've had to cancel over 4 trips between last year and this year. Not because our trip is now going to be 8 days.

I agree with you. I love WDW and have been at least 12 times. Five nights is my limit.

I understand your disappointment! It would be exciting to have that much time together with your family, and although I'm sure you're thankful for the 8 days, I would also feel a little sad. Keep trying making ADRs. When we have a trip planned and I don't get what we what everyday, I continue to call back and usually get what we want. Just be flexible with your plans and times. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

As much as I am cringing with jealousy about your eight days at Disney, I do understand that it sucks to cut your holiday short, I mean after all that planning and excitment. Maybe there is another time you can take your two weeks at Disney.

I would love to take the vacation another time but with DH's schedule the next time we would be able to go would be the end of next year. Getting excited with the planning is what makes canceling days so tough, especially when they are the days with the hard to get adrs. :goodvibes

If DH has to be back home for work, how many hours each day will you actually get to spend with him? I know you miss him, but having cancelled two trips already, I would just stay the few extra days with your son and see DH when you get home.

He only has to go in for a few hours one day so the rest of the time we will get to see him. If we lived closer we would stay and he would just go home that day and come back for the rest of the trip but unfortunatly that's not an option.

Hopefully you were able to find out about your dh's vacation time! I hope he has more vacation time so you can take a trip in the fall. :wizard:

Maybe it's just me, but first of all, I wouldn't cut my trip short because of pre-school. I would not be concerned about my child's 'permanent record' just yet.

Secondly, if my husband had a work conflict, I'd drive him to the airport and send him on his way for the work thing, then I'd get myself and my children back to Disney to enjoy the last few days of our vacation without him.

But that's just me.

I'm glad that would work for you but unfortunately it will not work for us which is why I shortened the trip. It has nothing do to with our son's "permanent record", it has to do with the experience of the first few days of school.

While we have to give up some days at disney I'd much rather come back home with my husband so we can all spend more time together. Even if my son & I did stay the few extra days without my husband I doubt our son would enjoy it. He wouldn't understand that he would be able to see his daddy again in a few days and would spend those last few days at disney missing him.

It is a bummer having to shorten the trip, especially when I first found out, which is when I posted this thread. After all the planning that goes into then having to give up some great adrs along with going to MNSSHP. I'm glad I will still be able to spend a week there which is why I wouldn't even think about spending the extra days there without dh. I will be able to replan and move things around to make a week work for us. Things could be much worse so I'm am of course grateful that we are still able to take a disney vacation, any family vacation for that matter.

Now THAT is the attitude to have. And remember, most ADRs are just food. Imagine all of the other memories that are to be made....go and have a GREAT time! And, the money you save by not staying those extra days, stash it away for your next trip and start planning your return!
