So I was going to get our tickets thru LMT...and of course I waited til the last minute. Tried to buy them and the stupid error came up about banking error. So I knew it might...no biggie right? Wrong! I call my bank and no one knows how to fix it. Two hours later still nothing. So I was like no big deal I will just go pay the extra 30 at getaway today. Wrong again. They only had tickets avail from Sat on. So now for why I am crying...just paid an extra 86 at DL ONLINE. I really could have used that money. To think of all the stuff my kids coulda had for that money. I think I may write my bank a letter about this.

I'm sorry you spent extra money, but I don't understand.

:confused3

You said, "the stupid error came up about banking error. So I knew it might..."

Why did you expect a banking error? I don't understand.

Why didn't you stick with LMT?

What am I missing?

Yeah...I'm confused too. What did your bank do wrong? And why did you abandon LMT?

i think u should write place where you tried to buy ur tickets instead of your bank. that does not sound like a bank problem more like the website of the travel agent or ticket place...

Sorry should have given more detail...LMT is an out of country banker. I knew this from a recent post on the board. So of course when I tried to make a purchase the error came up. I called my bank and the woman said she would look into it. Long story short after two hours and two people they still had no clue how to fix it. Something other people had done in minutes was just not possible for this bank apparently.

Bank had a restriction on my card that even the supervisor at my branch did not know how to remove. Kinda like the spending limit restriction that they put on cards per day. To me it should be something that they are trained to know how to remove. And then her supervisor the branch mgr couldn't do it. Ugh!

They could not remove the restriction on my card to allow for foreign merchants...so I am unable to buy from them.

Rats!!! The first time I bought with LTM, it would not take my debit and I had to use AmEx. Then I found out the parent company is in Israel and my bank does not allow transactions unless my fraud detection is removed (temporarily) from the account.
Wishing you lots of great fairy dust joy on your trip!

Ya coulda bought convention tickets for your trip... BTW... while you're there... Wear Red! :thumbsup2

This makes sense to me. Not that I'm defending the bank but most banks use third parties to secure thier cards. This is probably why the bank didn't know how to do it.

I worked at a bank during a merger and I had a customer request this. Having just been in that bank a few weeks I had to ask several people in the bank how to do this. This was premerger so nothing had changed yet. The most information i got was from the longest employed person there that another company handled it but didn't know how to contact them. So I had to contact the regional office who put me on hold and called the bank headquarters 20 minutes later regional took me off hold and gave me the contact at our card transaction security partner. It was a bunch of crap and really made me wonder how we would retain customers during the impending merger.

When I purchased our PHs for our July trip from LMT I called my credit union and said "I'm making an online purchase from a foreign company" they did whatever needed to be done for 24 hours so I could make the purchase *I better let them know that I'll be in England in early Nov so I won't have any problems there.

I'm sorry, that really stinks. :( Nothing like feeling like you're really going to get a great deal, only to get the money sucked right out of your hands.

I had to call my back (wells fargo) to get it fixed too. I think something like that automatically gets flagged for fraud alert. Too bad your bank didn't know how to fix it.

Thanks guys. I am a lil better now. I am still ticked at my bank though. We live only a few hrs from the Mexico border...you would think they would know how to do it blindfolded.

Sorry, but whats LMT:confused3

..and you can get tickets for $86 less than the online Disney site? I find those prices are pretty good..is this Last Minute Travel? They are based in Israel? I am totally confused...
