I don't want to do laundry. How much should I budget for them to do it?

Any idea how much it might cost to have a little laundry done on the ship? I'm thinking 3 tshirts, 3 underwear, 3 shorts, 6 socks per person. How much should I budget per person?

As I recall, laundry items average somewhere between $2.50 and $3.00 each. You should be looking at $25 or more per person just for those few items. You might seriously consider taking the time to throw in a load or two of clothes. We did not find it to be that big of a hassle, and it was worth a few minutes of our time to save a lot of money.

Pressing and even drycleaning formalwear is a different story. We had them press our formal items and it was very cheap and they did a great job. The prices for drycleaning were not bad, either.

I am wondering the same thing. I will be packing enough socks and underwear to last the my whole vacation, but would like everything else washed. Does anyone know the prices for shirts pants and shorts? Thanks

I used a hint from these boards and packed the kids worn out underclothes, socks and sleepware, then once dirty I threw it away!Of course this means packing more items, but there was less to bring home, and less to wash.
I did do a few loads mid week, early in the morning when the laundry room was empty.

The people on this board truly do know everything.....

I also find it great to do a load of laundry sometime during the trip. Everyone always has their favorite shorts, bathing suit etc that they love to wear more often. I try either late at night or early in the morning to throw a load in. Also with young ones they tend to wear their food on their nice dinner clothes and even bringing a stain stick sometimes did not help Mickey bars on white clothing. ;)

I always end up doing a load or two and don't find that it takes from my vacation. If I put a load in I can go to breakfast and by the time I finish my meal, the washer is done and then I can go back and put the clothes in the dryer and check out the chairs on Deck 4 or the lounge on the back of Deck 7 (which is by a laundry room).

What are the chances of no lines in the laundry room early in the morning or late at night. Also, How late at night does it have to be before the laundry room isn't so busy on a 4 night cruise?

I have done laundry on the 4 day and 7 day and I honestly never found the laundry room crowded. We did laundy about 4pm on the castaway cay day and there were a few people in there but no trouble getting a machine. I did laundry early in the morning (around 8) and no problem and then 9 pm one day and no problem there either....

How much does it cost to do a load of clothes in the laundry room? Washing and drying?

I think it was $1 for the washer and to really get things dry it took me $2. I brought a small ziplock with those laundry tabs in packages of two, and some dryer sheets. Oh, and a bag of quarters!

We did land/sea last time, with 3 nights land first. I didn't do any laundry at the resort and and when we boarded, after making reservations, I went straight to the laundry room and did two big loads to have all clean clothes once again. There was no one there at all that soon after boarding!

I'm with pwoodham!! I'm looking forward to a week with no laundry. My break is almost a year away....I can hardly wait. I say even if it costs $25 bucks to let them do it, it's money well spent! Gotta go, gotta a fresh basket to fold. July 2,2005, My laundry free week. (I bet I find enough money in the dryer fron now until then to pay for them to wash our clothes  ) :hyper: Amy

Unless my memory is completely failing me (not outside the realm of possibility), they also offered a the same-day laundry service for the price of the regular service on the last day of our 4-day cruise.
