"I Don't Wanna Meet Mickey In a Frumpin' Poncho!" An August 2011 TR! COMPLETE 11/30

AHHH Finally figured out how to work this website! LOVE THIS TRIP REPORT. after I finished reading it I started working on my own!

When I got to the steps, I realized that it was Jess and Nat in there!!!!! And I SCREAMED and ran in there, basically knocking Jess flat on the ground.

I think I screamed "OH MY GOD" for about twenty minutes. I honestly couldn't believe it!!! My best friends came all the way to Disney and did all this planning and secrecy to SURPRISE ME!?!?! I couldn't believe how blessed I was to have such amazing friends. In that moment I was the happiest I'd ever been. I was so overwhelmed with joy and shock that I literally had to sit down in the middle of the lobby. My head was spinning! I was so happy!!! I was in my favorite place on earth with all of my favorite people in the world!!! I am seriously so lucky. I couldn't believe it. I still can't. It was one of the most memorable moments I think I'll ever have.

That is gonna be my reaction if I ever meet either you or Jess in person, Kristen. Keep up the work, fellow frump!

Disneydude97,
the Man-Frump

You and Jess write the best trip reports! I can't wait to hear more about this trip, and hear about the next one!

Hope you have the best time on your trip! Happy Frumping! :)

Let me just say, it is an honor to be one of you--a frump. Yep, I am a bit of a frump. I'm lazy, I enjoy food, I LOVE Disney, so, yeah, I guess that makes me a frump.

Just caught up! I think I remember reading Jess' side of this trip! So awesome reading about the other side of it. You must have been so surprised when they showed up!!

I completely agree with you on how to pace yourself at 'Ohana. The amount of food is ridiculous. Shocking for the amount you pay. I feel like they must lose so much money. That bread pudding made my mouth waterrr! I LOVE that stuff:love:

Can't wait to read what's to come! Hope you're having a blast on your current (I think current?) trip!!:goodvibes

Hope you are having a blast!!! Can't wait intell 2014. My sis might be going with her kids for the first time and if she does my boys and I are tagging along. It well be fun showing her how its done.

Dear lord, Kristen! You couldn't have gone more crazy with updates when I made my disappearing act. I feel a bit tired, hungry and yes... frumpy after reading all these updates. I need to sit down... oh, I am, never mind then. Well, since you are already mostly into your next Disney endeavor, I hope you are having a great time! Say hi to my good friend Pluto for moi :)

Well, I'll just begin the comment now and hope not to write a comment that most likely could be counted as a TR. Anyways... so glad to hear you are officially a Pin Trader now (though I knew that for awhile :rolleyes1)! I'm sorry to hear though you didn't get your dancing people pin, I guess it's extremely coveted. Oh and I noticed Sarah has the AKL pin, have you guys stayed there? I have the exact same pin so I was just wondering... unless I'm missing something here  Moving on!

:thumbsup2 to having your graduation gift be a Disney trip! I've been telling my parents since forever about how I would rather go on a trip then a party. They are really hoping I change my mind but based on how my Sixteenth Birthday turned out... it will happen! Again, floating off into my boring Disney-lacking life, so I will go to another topic... Another thumbs up to all the great ADRs you had! Kona seems to be gaining major notoriety on here, maybe I will have to go there, it just sounds really good same with 'Ohana (during the Character meal hours...) Oh, so many Disney restaurants to try! How many Disney trips do I need for this to happen before I become broke? Yes, A LOT.

YAY! The surprise has occured. I sort of got lost in the fact you were in Disney and then noticed how you sent Jess a postcard. Sort of made me giggle... Anyways, I just love seeing all these new pictures from your crazy sleep-deprived induced night. You Frumps are crazy! I seriously wish I had more Disney crazed friends like you guys have. It will be necessarily especially when I'm on my own in some crazy University a LONG ways away from the East Coast (or maybe not...) so I can survive and I don't have to scare my roommate away lol

Well, can't wait to read more from this trip and about your next one on Twitter and through the incoming TR! *claps* Edgar, I need more ink! :mickeyjum

Kristen, I just saw you at the Contemporary! I wanted to say hi, but you were running for the monorail :( Next time.

I'm all caught up!!!! I don't even know how I GET so behind, but it always seems to happen! I apologize. :)

It was so awesome reading about the surprise from your point of view! That must have been the most exciting thing EVER. Like really. It is so sweet that they put in all that time and effort for you! You must have felt so special!

I hope you all remain loyal to this Frump while I'm away! Keep reading and commenting! I love and appreciate all of you!

WELP, I hope you do the same for me too!!! :flower3: I've really enjoyed reading all your tweets! I'll look forward to your brand new TR. Dang girl, you're gonna be on trip report overload until the end of time. That's awesome.

I'm new here, and I classify myself as a "Man-Frump". Anyways, ya know, Kristen, as soon as I found out the name of Chapter 10 was

I just burst out singing "Kokomo". :cool1:

Keep up the good work with this thread, my frumpy friend!

Chapter 20- Those Canadians Did Somethin' Right!

August 20th, 2011

Hi there everybody! I'm back!!! Allie and I got in last night, and we had the most INCREDIBLE time! This was definitely one of my best trips EVER! I met some awesome people, did SO many new things, and ate some fantastic food! It was such a magical and wonderful trip, and I can't wait to share it with all of you! For now, though, let's get back to last August!

Since we were all out really late the night before, we slept in until 10:30 that morning! I think that's the latest I've EVER slept in Disney! It was crazy! We all got up and got ready and jumped on a bus to EPCOT!

We got there in no time and Scott and Sarah thought they'd be funny and pretend that Spaceship Earth was a giant baseball. They're such frumps.

We headed straight for the World Showcase, where we stopped in the Port of Entry store to look around. Mom ended up buying some Mickey earrings, and Sarah found herself a cute new pair of shoes.

dsc04850a.jpg

Unfortunately, it was just too hot to wear them!

We headed into Canada after that and checked into our lunch ADR!

dsc04855ba.jpg

We were so excited! We had heard awesome things about Le Cellier and couldn't wait to try it out!

We went through the gardens to the restaurant, which were absolutely beautiful!

dscn0100t.jpg

We waited a couple minutes and were seated in Alberta. Tanya was our server and she was from Vancouver! We ordered smoothies as they were included on the DDP! We tried mango and strawberry. They were delicious!

dsc04870ax.jpg

Tanya also brought some bread to the table.

dsc04871we.jpg

YUM. We loved it! The pretzel bread was our favorite though. My mom still raves about it. A local grocery store to us actually just introduced pretzel bread to its bakery, but alas, it's just not the same. ): Ah well, something to look forward to! That stuff is just sooo good! It was especially delicious dipped in this:
dsc04877pe.jpg

Sarah got this with her meal because she ordered from the three course menu, but we all ended up sharing it! It was fantastic! I made it at home a few months ago and it turned out pretty well! Almost identical to theirs. I was pretty proud of that accomplishment.

We all ended up ordering the same entree, aside from Sarah. She had the Sauteed Potato Gnocchi with spring vegetables, buffalo mozzarella and tomato broth. She loved it! It was fresh and savory at the same time. A really good balance and a nice twist on a pasta dish.

dsc04882m.jpg

The rest of us went the more traditional route and had the famous Wild Mushroom Filet Mignon. I had mine with cream cheese mashed potatoes as opposed to the risotto, as I wanted to try them both. We all LOVED this dish. The filet basically melts in your mouth and both the risotto and the potatoes are an amazing complement! It was phenomenal! I'm pretty sure Scott and Mom were licking their plates!

dsc04878k.jpg

No matter how full we were, dessert was still on the way! I went the classic route and got the Chocolate "Moose" for mine. It was delicious! The mousse was the perfect consistency, the presentation was so clever, and they even decorated the plate for my birthday! It was great!

dsc04896t.jpg

Sarah ordered the Seasonal Sorbet for her dessert, which was peach! It was so refreshing, delicious, and perfect for a light end to a heavy meal.

dsc04897h.jpg

Mom decided to try another Le Cellier classic, the Maple Creme Brulee. She loved it! The flavors were spot on, as was the consistency. Perfect!

dscn0102o.jpg

Scott went with the Bumbleberry Cobbler, which was unique but so yummy! The flavor was a little tart, but balanced out well by the ice cream it was served with. He loved it!

dscn0103g.jpg

All of us absolutely LOVED Le Cellier. The service, atmosphere and food were excellent, and it has become a family favorite. We can't wait to go back in August!

dscn0105t.jpg

dscn0108oo.jpg

We decided to head to the KidCot Fun Stop so Sarah could color her own Duffy!

dsc04907ph.jpg

dsc04920bk.jpg

Mom and I helped her, she got it stamped, and we headed off to explore Canada!

dsc04913dn.jpg

dscn0106lm.jpg

I love the mountains and waterfalls in this pavilion. They're so beautiful!

dsc04917j.jpg

We decided to go see O Canada since we were right there!

dsc04915x.jpg

I thought it was awesome! I loved the surrounding screen, and I LOVE Martin Short! He's brilliant. The Father of the Bride movies are some of my favorites. It was awesome to see him represented in the parks!

After that, we stopped by the UK for a quick visit!

dsc04922s.jpg

I love the drawings they do on the pavement! I always participate in the hopscotch.

Sarah got her Duffy stamped, we looked around the shoppes, and I pin traded a little. After that, we decided to head back to CSR because it looked like it was going to rain.

Glad to hear you and Allie had a great time on your last trip (and that my main man misses me :goodvibes)! So excited to read all about it! (:

You slept until 10:30?!?!?! BLASPHEMY! Weren't you the one who coined the term "No sleeping in Disney"?! Not. Okay. :sad2: Love the picture of Scott and Sarah in front of the EPCOT ball! You guys are so funny. :thumbsup2 to Sarah's snazzy shoes, I need a pair now lol

YAY LE CELLIER!!! (see what I did there?) I swear I'm going to need to add a fourth meal after looking at all those food pictures. Gosh, it looks so delicious! If I ever go back to Disney that will be my FIRST ADR! I need me some Cheddar Cheese Soup and Pretzel Bread (especially after your very in-depth and stellar reviews)! Canada looks like such a beautiful pavilion! I'm just in love with all those waterfalls, so pretty. Disney Water <3 :thumbsup2 to seeing O' Canada! It sounds like a really cool experience though it's going to be hard getting past the fact Martin Short was evil ole' Jack Frost :/ Oh and the hopscotch is absolutely adorable ::yes::

Can't wait to read more (and hopefully it will be a rainless update)! :mickeyjum

Yay you're back:goodvibes I'm so glad to hear you guys had such an awesome vacation!

Le Cellier looks so good from your pictures, not quite sure I think it's worth two credits but maybe I'll have to try it OOP one of these days.

Love the picture of you and Sarah in the Canadian pavilion...too cute!

Can't wait to hear more

Welcome home!! I bet you had an awesome time, and I can't wait to hear about it! OMG I love Le Cellier! It's definitely one of our favorites.

Glad yall had such a great trip!!! It sounded like you were having fun (at least on twitter)!

Hahha I love that baseball picture. I'm sure even a baseball bat made of steel wouldn't be able to handle Spaceship Earth coming at it! :lmao:

OMG Le Cellier. I've never been there but I'm eating there... holy crap, a week from today! Oddly enough I'm getting literally the exact same meal you got, right down to the mashed potatoes instead of the risotto! I know that's not TOO odd, since it's a fave, but I still thought it was funny. Like oh, thanks for previewing my meal for me! (Except for the smoothie part. )
