I have a really good job at home right now and it pays 10.44 an hour. My job at disney would pay 7.46 hour. If I went to florida I would probably have to quit my job, would it be worth it to quit my job and do this internship with disney? I am just scared of not find a good job when I get back since the economy is so bad...

heres my input.

I have been a host for almost 3 yrs now, I recently got hired on at a brand new P.F. Chang's. We opened and trained together it was an awesome experience. Well they made me the Host Trainer. I get $9/hr and at Disney I'll be doing the same work (FSFB) for only $7.21/hr. It's gunna be extremely hard to leave this job and I've worked my butt off to get in the position I am in there. More than likely, I'll be able to leave and return to my job however. So for me it's a no brainer. I have to go and I'll probably never get a chance to work with Disney ever again. I'm taking it. So it's ultimately up to you.

Yeah - you seem like your in the same area. But it seems like you will have a job when you get back....I dunno, I just feel lost and I want to do this soo badly, see and I also want to get my degree sooner but if I wait two years to get my degree then I might not have this chance to go again...

I've talked to my managers and they seem to think it will be ok..but its really up to my OP of the restaurant and I'm honestly scared to tell her haha. They rely on my alot and it feels like like ditching out on them you know..BUT if she told me no I wouldn't have my job waiting...in all honesty I would probably not go...

Disney is a ONCE in a life time opportunity, but that is your call, don't just think about the money

Talk to your managers about this and see what the "coming back to" situation will be like, explain this is a one in a lifetime chance for you. Voice your worries about not having a job not to come back to. If this is a company that you wish to stay with through out the rest of college career I would voice that, it shows your are commit to them and not planning on completely leaving them.

I know both companies I have worked for had a policy that because I left on good terms I was welcomed back within a six month window. Companies do this with their good employees because it cost a lot to train employees, so some companies welcome back employees (who have taken a short break) because they do not have to train new ones.

Thats a very good idea because I would LOVE to do this oppurtunity - it could change me forever, so I will talk to them saying its the only time I can really go because I may not be able to do it again, thanks guys for all your advice! :)

Yeah I might have to leave my job for good....but im going to just ask my boss if i can take a leave of absence and go back after the cp is over.

Yeah i work at a restaurant too & i just got hired in February and i'm leaving May 27th, and my boss said he'd be more than happy to hire me again when i return. It was super hard to find a job where i'm from i live in a rural area, small town community there's only 2,000 people in my town. I live in Knoxville,TN but i come home for work. Even if he wouldn't hire me back i'd definitely do this internship...it's not often an opprtunity comes around like this..for me anyways lol i'm just a small town guy haha. I say go for it but it's up to you!
