Hi! I have lurked on everyone else's dining reviews (sorry for not posting!:flower3:), and decided it was time for me to start one of my own. Everyone has been so helpful with their reports, and I appreciate it very much. If I could help one person make a decision, that would make me ecstatic.

I guess a little background is in order. So, I obviously go to Disneyworld for more than the food. It is absolutely my happy place. :goodvibes But the food is definately a major part! My husband and I both loooove food! That's why we do the DXDP. Wouldn't think of doing it any different way!

Okay. For the "Cast of Characters":

This trip is our honeymoon, so obviously no kids this time around. :thumbsup2
I love our kids, but it will be wonderful to experience disney "adult style". So...
ME: 32 years old, I'm a pediatric nurse. Food wise, I love almost everything. The only things that I won't eat are mushrooms (it's a texture thing, so if they are chopped up I'm fine) and olives (can't stand 'em- I always give them to the kids to eat). I have planned all of the ADRs, spent a ton of time on the DIS, and have ideas of what I want at each place, but I can't commit just yet.

DH: 33 as of tomorrow (I told him he's old, to which he replied he is only 6 months older than me...:rotfl:) This will be his second trip to Disney. His first was last year. He's a little picker than me. I'm working on him though. He is pretty much a meat and potatoes guy, but I've gotten him to love sushi, and I keep trying for more. He is very tolerant of my obsessive planning (besides the occasional kidding), and actually got up to make all of our ADRs on day 90 because I was still at work. An angel, he is.

Oh, here's a picture of us. Not a great one, but in my defense we had been doing MK commando for 12 hours before this pic was taken. It's from last year.

Now to the good stuff. We are going June 8-16th. We originally booked through the 15th at WL, then decided to add an extra day, which will be at BWV. Here's the lineup-

June 8:AK day
Lunch- Yak n Yeti- Post 29-Never eaten here, but it sounds great.
Dinner- Jiko- A repeat, and one of only 3 DH asked for the entire trip. We both love it here

June 9:DTD day
Lunch- Wolfgang Puck cafe-Never been here either, but the menu sounded good.
Dinner- Narcosees- This is a first too. We will be there for the fireworks that night.

June 10: MK Day
Lunch- Liberty Tree Tavern- This is new. We were originally going to Tony's, but DH saw the fried cheese while I was reading dining reports on here and HAD to have it!
Dinner- California Grill: I am super excited about this one. Never been, but I can't wait for the sushi! We will be here for the fireworks also.

June 11:Water park day- Don't know which one yet...
Breakfast- Boma- This is a repeat(well, for DH anyway). #2 of DH's requests. We had a reservation on checkout day last trip, but I couldn't make it. DS got sick that morning, so DH and DD went. They said it was wonderful, and "too bad you couldn't make it" :headache:
Dinner- Artist Point- Haven't been here, but this one actually might go away. We will probably be leaving Disney property this day to go to Lakeland to see the Tigers Farm team play.:scared1: The Tigers are DH favorite team.

June 12:Epcot day 1- (I love Epcot!)
Lunch- Tutto Italia- Never been here, but the reviews are great.
Dinner- Le Cellier- Haven't been here either, but had to try it out with all the press it gets. Plus we got a great dinner time...
Oh, and in between on this day- Drinks around the world- It should be a great day. :cool1:

June 13: DHS
Lunch- Sci-Fi- We haven't been here. This is honestly a stake-out for the kids for next year. I think they will love the atmosphere. And I have been forewarned and will stick to burgers...
Dinner- The Wave- We were originally going to Big River Grill, but have heard such bad things. I figure we can go there for drinks later in the night.

June 14: Epcot Day 2
Lunch- Biergarten- We went here last year and love the food, the atmosphere, the beer... Nuf said
Dinner- Yatschman- DH #3 request. Went here for date night last year while the kids were at neverland club and loved it. He wants that porterhouse again!!!

June 15:
Breakfast- Kona- I HAVE to try the tonga toast!!!
Lunch- We have no plans for today because this was the extra day. We will probably just get a counter service wherever we end up. Plus I don't want to fill up too much before dinner.
Dinner- Ohana- Never been here, but we are going on super strong recommendation from a friend at work. She loves it there.

So that's it! Hope I haven't been too long winded and scared everyone away... I can't wait to go....

Count me in, you had me at the title! You have some fantastic places lined up, we are going the week before you and trying Cali Grill for the first time too.

Have a great trip and congrats on the wedding!

I am definitely in for this one...everything looks to be fabulous. You will love Tutto! Congrats on the wedding!

Thanks for joining! I think that I am most excited about Cali Grill. I wanted to do it our last trip, but it didn't work out. There are just so many places to go, and I eventually want to try them all.

I am definitely in for this one...everything looks to be fabulous. You will love Tutto! Congrats on the wedding!

Great to have you. :) Tutton sounds fantastic. And Italian foods are some of my husbands favorites, which is why I chose it.

Great plan! I might cc your dining plan if I hadn't ADR already :goodvibes

Thanks for coming along. And for the compliment! Hopefully we have lots of pixie dust and everything works out wonderfully.

Congrats! I'm signing on.....popcorn::

Glad to have you guys! I promise to try to keep it interesting till June. I didn't take food pics last time, since it was the kids and DH first time. I was going to wait til the week before to start this, but I was too excited!:banana::banana:

I thought I would share pics of the rest of the family. They won't be coming this trip, but will next year (except for one).

This is of DD9 and DS7 at Disney last year. Their first trip!
disney034-1.jpg

And this is DS4. He has not been to Disney, although not for lack of trying on our part.
He will get to go with us next year.(Photo edited, obviously- the suglasses were way to big, so he gets inkblots...)
cameraphone048-1.jpg

And the one that won't be coming...

cameraphone023.jpg

Tiger

And lastly- My favorite pic from our wedding...

cameraphone046.jpg

I promise this is going to be a food review. Just thought I would add these since I have no food porn from our trip last year.

:cool1:I'm so in for this one. I love your title. We're going in Sept for Free Dining & the Food & Wine Fest. I can't wait to read your reviews as you're eating at several of the places we have planned. You will enjoy Ohana, it's our first night tradition.

Ahem. *cough* I do go there for the food. *cough* Don't believe me? Just look at my signature. :rotfl2: You had me at "I'm going for the food". ;)

Okay. For the "Cast of Characters":

Brenda (oybolshoi) would consider you her soul sister for having the same food aversions. I'll say to you what I say to her: Toss 'em my way. Yum.
And congrats on the honeymoon trip! Woohoo!

DH: 33 as of tomorrow (I told him he's old, to which he replied he is only 6 months older than me...:rotfl:) This will be his second trip to Disney. His first was last year. Ooh, better lay off on the "old" comments. Lots of us are turning 40 this year, so I guess that makes us older than dirt. ;) I'm impressed that you converted a meat and potatoes guy to sushi.

Oh, here's a picture of us. Not a great one, but in my defense we had been doing MK commando for 12 hours before this pic was taken. It's from last year.

Aww, you're both too cute for words! And you're my sunburn soul sister. Better remember to pack the sunscreen, doll. You look like you burn as easily as me! I go from pasty white to lobster red in a New York Minute without SPF Gazillion.

Now to the good stuff. We are going June 8-16th. We originally booked through the 15th at WL, then decided to add an extra day, which will be at BWV. Here's the lineup-

June 8:AK day
Lunch- Yak n Yeti- Never eaten here, but it sounds great.
Dinner- Jiko- A repeat, and one of only 3 DH asked for the entire trip. We both love it here

I haven't been to Yak n Yeti yet, but I keep meaning to. Love Jiko.

June 9:DTD day
Lunch- Wolfgang Puck cafe-Never been here either, but the menu sounded good.
Dinner- Narcosees- This is a first too. We will be there for the fireworks that night.

I never make it past the sushi bar to eat at Wolfgang's actual Cafe. :)

June 10: MK Day
Lunch- Tony's- This is a repeat. I have heard some not so great reviews from this, but we like it. It's passable italian, and nothing else in MK really catches my eye
Dinner- California Grill: I am super excited about this one. Never been, but I can't wait for the sushi! We will be here for the fireworks also.

Spicy Kazan Roll at California Grill. There's lots of panko crunchy crumb bits tossed on top with the sauce. It's awesome.

LOL about Boma. Like you had anything to do with that! As long as I get the Frunch juice blend and the press-pot coffee, I'm gooood. And I enjoy Artist Point. It's still on my rotation of restaurants I like to go to.

:cool1:

I'd suggest taking it easy on the drinking around the world, because it's way easy to get too full to want to keep an ADR. There are 11 countries in World Showcase. I would maybe get 3 drinks, just to make sure I don't ruin my appetite. :) I haven't been to Le Cellier since before the DDP exploded into a frenzy, and I really don't think I am missing much. It's ok, but not spectacular in my opinion. It's got the reputation solely for having expensive steak dinners for 1 table service credit inside a theme park. (But that's just my opinion! You might get a fantastic meal to put my comment to shame.)

The Wave is on my radar for another place to try. Looks like I'll be looking to you for reviews of places I haven't been to yet!

I think Yachtsman is better than Le Cellier. Now you'll be able to compare and tell me if you agree or not. :)

Tonga Toast is really sweet. I don't like the strawberry goop they serve with it. And like Boma, they have a special juice blend (Lilikoi juice) and press-pot coffee. Get both. :thumbsup2 If you like meat and lots of it, you'll like 'Ohana. 'Ohana means no meats get left behind or forgotten. ;)

So that's it! Hope I haven't been too long winded and scared everyone away... I can't wait to go....

Uh, helllooooo? Long-winded here. Snarky, too!

Ahem. *cough* I do go there for the food. *cough* Don't believe me? Just look at my signature. :rotfl2: You had me at "I'm going for the food". ;)
That's great! Thanks for joining! I do think the food is super important. I named it that because the only thing I have planned for this trip is where/what to eat. Park days are only planned so that I could plan ADRs.:rotfl2:

Brenda (oybolshoi) would consider you her soul sister for having the same food aversions. I'll say to you what I say to her: Toss 'em my way. Yum.
And congrats on the honeymoon trip! Woohoo!

Thanks!

 I don't think he's old. I just like to mess with him. He dishes it right back too, which is part of what makes our relationship great. I can't imagine being with someone who wasn't as sarcastic as me...

Aww, you're both too cute for words! And you're my sunburn soul sister. Better remember to pack the sunscreen, doll. You look like you burn as easily as me! I go from pasty white to lobster red in a New York Minute without SPF Gazillion.

Thanks again! Want to know the funny part? I had plenty of sunscreen with me. Slathered the kids every two hours. I just never put it on myself. That always happens. I guess I am an eternal optimist when it comes to tanning...:lmao:

Spicy Kazan Roll at California Grill. There's lots of panko crunchy crumb bits tossed on top with the sauce. It's awesome.

Thanks for the recommendation! I am completely open to suggestions. I have poured over the menus extensively, but am waaayyy too indecisive.

I'd suggest taking it easy on the drinking around the world, because it's way easy to get too full to want to keep an ADR. There are 11 countries in World Showcase. Are you kidding??? I was planning on getting smashed...;) No we will have some :rolleyes1 drinks. About Le Cellier- that's kinda why I want to go. Such mixed reviews. Plus I want to try the Beer Cheese Soup- MMM... Cheese...

I think Yachtsman is better than Le Cellier. Now you'll be able to compare and tell me if you agree or not. :)

I love Yachtsman. Great filet. Rare of course. I completely expect it to be WAAYYY better than Le Cellier.

Tonga Toast is really sweet. I don't like the strawberry goop they serve with it. And like Boma, they have a special juice blend (Lilikoi juice) and press-pot coffee. Get both. :thumbsup2 If you like meat and lots of it, you'll like 'Ohana. 'Ohana means no meats get left behind or forgotten. ;)

Uh, helllooooo? Long-winded here. Snarky, too!

Looks like we will get along fabulously....

27 days til we leave!!!:banana::banana:
And we got our travel documents yesterday.:lovestruc

I am soooo excited. I am determined to really focus on deciding what to eat this week, so if anyone has any suggestions, I am definately open!

You should definitely try the lasagna at Tutto...it was so good and very filling. And have an Italian Margarita for me!

The lasagna sounds good. And I will most definately imbibe for you!!!

You've inspired me to finally do something about my dining report. We're there pretty much the same days as you. We're there from June 7 - 15. Also doing the DxDP. And LOTS of the same ADRS. But NEVER on the same day!

Our first day is also Y&Y and Jiko (but for us is the 7th so we'll just miss you.)

Other common ADRs are: Narcoosee's (D), Tony's (we're doing L; you, D), Boma (B), Tuttoo Italia (L), Le Cellier (D), Sci-Fi (L), Wave (us, L; you, D), Kona (B).

Can't wait to read yours and compare!!!

Leigh

I have become addicted to these Dining reviews, so count me in! popcorn::

Have a wonderful trip!!

Thanks for joining! I am most definately addicted too. So much so that my kids are now addicted! :rotfl2:

YAY! I know you're getting excited. I am! Too bad we aren't at the same places ever, but maybe we will run into each other. I can't wait to read your dining report! May the next few weeks go by in a flash...:wizard:
