I don't have a clever title but I DO have 2,000 photos! WDW in Oct. update!

I'm sad to see that the report is almost at an end. I've loved seeing your photos. I've finally gotten myself in gear and started a trip report for my October trip with my brother and parents. Only a couple months late :) The link is in my signature.

Love all the Osborne pictures! They make me wish I was going back this November instead of 2013! :goodvibes

Thanks! I loved November- the weather was perfect & the crowds were pretty low.

Sorry I got so behind on commenting on your report.

What great pictures of the Festival of the Masters! I didn't even know what that was. Amazing talents. Some of those pictures were so realistic!

I especially loved the Peace Sign wreath made out of Toy Soldiers and the Cheetah. It was nice seeing the progress from day to day on some of the works.

Too bad MVMCP was so crowded that it impacted your enjoyment. Your parade pictures were fantastic though. Where were you watching from? The night time pictures at MK are absolutely gorgeous. This past summer was the first time we have been to the MK after dark. There is definitely a different vibe.

The Haunted Mansion photos are super! I have so much trouble in there. I turn off the flash on my point and shoot and I have yet to get something I am happy with.

I liked the way you photographed the fireworks- the closeup views of just the fireworks instead of with the castle background. Really nice perspective.

I have a question about the castle. So, does the lighting go back and forth between the different colors and the "frosting" effect?

The pictures of Everest at sunset are stunning! Such beautiful colors. We have never been to AK at night!

Thanks for the photos of the spiders between BC and EPCOT. They are beautiful! I'm totally going to have to look to see if they are there on my next visit. Whenever that is.

I'm impressed with your assortment of photos at EPCOT. I can definitely see how you got much more detailed photos on your solo trip than you would have if you were with others. The lantern at Morocco. The greenhouse at the train set in Germany. The flora and fauna and fishes from Living with the Land and The Living Seas.

And finally- The Osborne Lights. There are no words to describe how spectacular those pictures are. So...

.

Wow- thanks!! Festival of the Masters was so cool. I just wish I had a ton of money so I could have bought something. Not that everything was expensive, but I didn't want to spend anything because I had just bought my car. I loved that peace sign made of the toy soldiers, too- I thought it was clever.
I think the MK parade photos were of the parade at the end of the "regular" MK hours. I saw that right as I was walking down Main Street. The few photos I got of Santa in the Christmas parade were taken from the bridge at Splash Mountain. The fireworks photos are of just the fireworks, because all I had with me that night was my 50mm lens. :lmao: So, totally not on purpose! I think the castle usually stays on just the frosting effect. I think the different colors were after a show at the stage in front of the castle.
I think you will be the only person to thank me for the spider photos! :rotfl:
I only got a couple of photos in HM. It is impossible to shoot my favorite part (the ballroom dancing ghosts)- or impossible for ME to shoot that part of the ride. I have tried so many times.
AK at night was awesome. I can't tell you how cool it was to ride EE 5 times in a row- first, watching the sun set, then when it was dark & all of the lights at the park were on. It was a pretty dark park at night.
The Osborne lights are my favorite. You have to see them at least once!

Sorry for the lack of an update. I have been hit hard by the winter blues this year & have been completely unmotivated. I promise I'll get something together by the end of the week. :)

I almost sent you a p.m. yesterday to check on you but then it got busy at the office and I never got the chance. I hope that you can shake the Winter blues away soon. It rained for three days straight here and I was about to go nuts to get out of the house.

Thanks. Today didn't help my mood at all. We had about 3 &1/2 inches of snow on the ground & all of the roads were completely untreated. It doubled my commute to 2 hours.:headache: It was good that about 2/3 of the way through my commute that it was raining instead of snowing, though. I think it is supposed to warm to about 40, then drop waaaay down. Sunday's high temp is 17.

And to think that I was complaining about our low being in the 20s tonight. I don't see how you get out of the house with the high being 17.

Lucky you, you got some rain out of this? It started snowing here around 6am and it hasn't let up since. We have about 8 inches already. I thought it would let up by now. Luckily my boss is flexible enough that I got to stay home today :) I guess winter is finally here in ME. We didn't have anything on the ground before this. It is supposed to be super cold up here Sat/Sun. I think they said the lows Sat night are -10/-5 and Sunday highs are 8/10. Lovely. Time to move to FL!

Cheer up, it will be spring before you know it! Then comes the mud and black flies ;)

Oh good....I wasn't too far behind.

Your pictures of the Osborne Lights and up and down the streets in the Studios are terrific. It just makes me want to go all the more at Christmas time.

We are supposed to get up to 8 inches of snow by tomorrow morning (with the possiblity of more). We can't complain too much because we have not had any snow up until this point which is so rare for us. That being said, I can't wait to leave 2 weeks from today.

Hi April,
Sorry for your down mood
A 2 hour commute stinks....BIG time!

We lucked out up here on the North Shore with rain....but, HEAVY rain
Some local flooding, but not too bad

Great updates. The Osborne Lights look amazing. I have always wanted to experience them... your photos of them are great. :)

I hope you are having a good weekend. If you are a Patriots fan, things are good. I was at a community Christmas tree bonfire yesterday afternoon. BRRRR!!! Still thawing out, I think. Wishing warmer weather your way!

You CAN complain about the 20's!! That is darn cold! So far our winter hasn't been too bad. We've gotten 2 storms with 3 inches of snow each, then last night we got about 2 inches of snow. I think tomorrow we may get another 3 inches.

Oh, my- you're in Maine?!?!? That means you must have 12 feet of snow already. Where in Maine are you? I want to move to FL too & our winter hasn't even been that bad this year! :rotfl:

How did you do with this latest storm?? I hear the one tomorrow will be worst south of the Pike, so we are both safe.

Thanks! You should definitely see them in person if you can!

Thanks! How much snow did you get with this last storm?? Do you think the Pats will make it to the Superbowl this year?

So far, so good this winter! We got about an inch earlier this week and maybe 2 inches last night. Hopefully not too much tomorrow.

Yes, I do think the Pats will make it into the Superbowl. My husband, oldest son and I all love football and the Patriots. Nate is obsessed. Like he watches the NFL channel constantly. And asked for mostly football attire for Christmas (some, but not all Patriots).

GO PATS!!!

We are in Southwestern ME in a small town right along the NH border. Cornish, ME is great if you like antiques or pizza places, but not much else :)
We have had a very mild winter. We got a foot of snow on Halloween and a foot on Thanksgiving, then nothing until this last one. Then a little last night again. But its hard to complain. I just don't ski or snowmobile, so I hate winters these days. I feel like an old person wanting to move south. But really, yes its hot down there, but we get 100 degrees and humid here in the summers now. Whats the difference? At least down there you have nice winters :) And Mickey is right next door! Ahhh....a girl can dream, right?

HI April,
Not much snow here this AM...its all gone now.

I hope the storm misses us tomorrow...although, I would rather have a weekend storm then a weekday storm...
I am sitting here at work trying to think of what I have for food at home, I sooo don't want to go to the Grocery store as EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE will be there...are the stores near you like that when a storm is coming...even if its not going to be a big storm...

How in the world am I just getting in on page 12???? WOW.........I am such a bad dis friend :sad2:.

I bet you guys are psyched now! The Pats made it! :woohoo:
Almost all of the now on the ground has melted here, but we are supposed to get more tonight. Still- I can't complain! This time last year, we had 4 feet of snow on our front lawn that didn't melt until March!!

I'm right there with you. I would LOVE to be in a warmer climate! Hmmm...only 27 years until I can retire.:sad2:

Ugh- I HATE that everyone rushes the stores if they predict an inch of snow!!! I meant to ask- did you upload any of the photos from your trip?

How in the world am I just getting in on page 12???? WOW.........I am such a bad dis friend :sad2:.

You are NOT a bad dis friend!! I completely understand. I, myself, have been away from the boards lately because of life getting in the way. :)

After looking through my notes, I saw that I didn't miss anything. I do have some fun numbers for you, though. I took a pedometer with me for this trip- here are the numbers:
Day 1: 17,245 steps, 5.17 miles
Day 2: 21,783 steps, 6.53 miles
Day 3: 13,452 steps, 4.03 miles
Day 4: 17,354 steps, 5.2 miles
Day 5: 12,099 steps, 3.62 miles
Day 6: 18,619 steps, 5.58 miles

I think I may not have used it ALL day on some of the days, but I thought it was interesting. I also uploaded 2 photos from my phone. One of the floral arrangements on the Concierge floor:

The other is of one of the "lightboxes"- this was the souvenir that I had mentioned that I wish I bought in May. I love it.

I guess that's it. I have no trips planned this year except to Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure where to post non-Disney trip reports, but I may post one if I can. Thanks for reading along!

Hi April,
Nice to see a post from you!
Sorry life has gotten in the way...don't worry, your fans are here!
Vegas will be awesome!

We are lucky, no snow here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah! I have a feeling Feb and March will be payback...

I didn't even think of posting the pics...I have a photobucket account (I think) let me check it out!

Hi!
Hope all is well.
Forgot to mention...you logged some miles! That's awesome...
I had a pedometer, but it never really seemed to work right...I would love to invest in a really good one...its definitely a motivator!
