I don’t know where we’re staying, but I know where we’re eating! May 2011 *NEW 5/10!

Our countdown calendar is now official... we are at 98 days. I just love being in double digits. Not as much as single digits, of course, but I'll take what I can get. ;)

I can't believe how much I am looking forward to this trip, considering that we really just got back. I guess it just never gets old!

Our Day 2 plans are pretty relaxed, only a few things that we 'have' to do.
I'm still not able to break the tradition of MK opening on our first morning, so that is where we'll start. I have probably said this before, but I am a complete sap when it comes to that 'Good Morning' song.

After a few hours at the MK (we'll stay long enough to get a Dole Whip, for sure!), we'll either go to a resort for a break (not necessarily ours- I'm thinking we might go to the Grand Floridian- we really enjoyed a break we took there on our last trip) and then head to Epcot.
We have a 2 o'clock lunch ADR booked at Coral Reef, a place we've never been before. I'm looking forward to it, especially since it's another 'first'. This is one Ben requested last trip, but we had to cancel cause we ran out of time.

Once lunch is done, we are free to do anything we want! No set dinner plans, no nothing!
I really have no idea what we'll want to do... we'll be in Epcot, but we can go anywhere.
So, here's a question for all of you fantastic readers: What would you do with a completely free afternoon/evening in Disney World?

The next day will be an early one, because we have to be at Epcot for the Backstage Magic tour. And I am paranoid about being late for that. So we'll try to be responsible and make it an early night.

So sorry about Otis... I had a furry son named Tom. I am still not over his passing and it's been 5 years.

So happy you began your countdown! When do you find out which resort for sure? Is there a wishlist drop date? I vote AK... have you seen the BW's pool? :scared: Clowns and I do not mix well.

:yay: for the update! I am jealous you are going back. You will be going right about the same time as my dd...so i can be jealous of both of you. Actually...I think you are going a couple weeks before her. She is going mid may...on her disneymoon. :lovestruc

Very cool you are going to Coral Reef. Other than our service really stinking last time...I only have good things to say about all the other visits and the food at each one! My youngest dd can't get enough of the lobster bisque. I know some people rave about the cheddar soup at Le Cellier... well, the lobster bisque!!! that is the one our family adores!!

Can't wait to read more of your plans! :goodvibes

Plans sound good :thumbsup2 For your free afternoon I would wander WS, get a margaritas or two and just soak up the atmosphere. Grab some funnel cake later on, snag a spot to relax and wait for Illuminations. The possibilities are endless :goodvibes

What about a dinner show like HDDR or the luau? We've only done HDDR, but we love it! It would take up a couple hours of your time (but not interfere with park time), you'd get dinner and some tasty beverages while watching, and if you end up really tired that day you could just head back to your resort afterward.

I'm with you, girl-- has to be MK on our first full day. Nothing can get you in the Disney mood better than hearing that song and seeing the castle "appear" once you go under the train station!
The Coral Reef is great-- I'm sure you guys will love it! Hmm, free afternoon/night? I'd probably grab a drink (or two...) and just wander around the WS. It's SO gorgeous at night, and really fun to take in all of the gift shops, or even just stop and take a break on a bench and people watch.

Thank you. I can't imagine ever being over Otis, and I guess I don't want to be- I like to remember him even if it is sad at times.

I'm actually not 100% sure about the wait list... I am sorta under the impression that we could be switched up till the day of. But I could be wrong.

I am starting to hope that we get to stay at AKL... though I like the location of BWV so I am not canceling our wait list. But I do agree with you- that clown pool ain't cool.

Ben is a lobster bisque FREAK! He will be excited when I tell him what you said about Coral Reef's :thumbsup2

I didn't realize Kira's wedding was so soon! Very exciting!

Illuminations... that would be a first (seriously, I have never seen it!_... and especially with a yummy margarita... good idea, Stefy!

We did HDDR last trip, and LOVED it! But I think we need to wait some time before doing a dinner show again. Otherwise, that's a great idea!

They definitely knew what they were doing when they created that opening show!

We likely will end up strolling the WS... if only we hadn't done all the Kim Possible missions on our last trip, this would be a great time to do them. Oh well!

I didn't realize Kira's wedding was so soon! Very exciting!

It is coming up. She actually has a PTR she is doing.

Oh...and remember I told you on how she got a dress like yours...only pink. Well, turns out she wanted something a little more "hers" and so she now has a new one. We went to a wedding show and there were various dress shops with the "last years" stuff and one shop the owner also makes her own dresses. Kira found one she liked. Heaven forbid she loses any weight though... It would need to be altered. Course...I think that the dressmaker would be able to handle it no problem. I just don't want to hassle with it.

I will be anxious to hear how Ben likes the lobster bisque. Hopefully he likes it. :goodvibes

Joyce,

If you and Ben go to the Cape, seriously take him to the Brewster Fish House for Lobster Bisque. Most amazing Lobster Bisque I've ever had. Lots of big yummy chunks of lobster, but the bisque is white, weird but soooo good!

I'll have to check out her PTR! The craziness of dress fittings... that is what I was doing this time last year!

Yay glad I could help :goodvibes

Me too!

Good to know! We will definitely be getting some bisque there (I'm not kidding- the dude loves the stuff!)

Thanks for your help with plans for a second night. I think I'll finally see Illuminations! At this rate, I may even see Fantasmic someday (but not likely... I just can't wait the length of time needed to see that show) ;)

Since we have that squared away, we may as well move on to

Day 3 Plans: Tuesday 5/3
This is my favorite day on the itinerary! It will start with us waking up bright and early, because we need to be at Epcot by 8:45 to meet for the Backstage Magic Tour. I'm a little paranoid about being late or forgetting my ID (two things that can make you miss the tour!), so let's hope I can keep my act together enough to get to go on the tour...

Because we are meeting at Epcot, I am assuming that's where the tour starts :lmao:

I know we visit all 4 parks, and a landscaping place. The description I have also says that lunch is at Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. I don't know what order any of this happens in, but I'm sure it'll be fun.

After 6-8 hours of WDW touring fun, we'll be free to head back to our resort. If we are staying at BW, I'd like to eat at Big River Grille (cause we love beer) and visit Jellyrolls. If we are staying at AKL, I'd still like to do that. :rotfl:

I like this day because I didn't have to plan it, and because it is something completely new! The bad thing is that I have a feeling we won't be able to take many pictures. This might end up being a boring day to read about when I finally write the TR!

Sounds like it will be a great day :thumbsup2 Soak up some Disney knowledge and finish the day with some good food :goodvibes

Sounds like a really fun day! The menu at Big River Grille looks great.

I am here! I finally caught up on the DIS after a few months and I am so excited that you have another PTR up and a trip coming! Hooray!

I agree with the votes for an evening in WS on day 2. I'm hoping for one of those myself on our trip. :thumbsup2 Day 3 sounds like so much fun. I can't wait to read about the tour!

Exactly! Is it May yet? :rolleyes1

I am looking forward to trying it out. Friends of ours have suggested it, and we haven't had a chance to get there before.
