I didn't think it was abig deal, you only choked once!! Update 9/18 final thoughts

You guys are starting your recap already?
Now you're making us look bad!
Mom is still going through her pictures and her notes and our most current TR is still over a year old!

Yep we have until August to finish this TR so we have to get a move on!

I went through our pictures every night when we got back to the room so all I had to do when we got back was upload them to photobucket and edit them. I had a couple of late nights but it cut down on the chores when I got home

Nice job - I know Mom was too exhausted to go through their pics every night.
How was the stay at All Star Sports? Which section did you get? The Boys are headed there next month.

And where is that Pooh log "cut-out" from your intro (the picture with Dawn)?
I know where it used to be in Downtown Disney by Pooh's Corner but they since moved it when the store closed.
We have several pics of the kids in front of it and it's a tradition to take pics of it.
Looking back, we can watch the kids grow up in front of it!
I'm just not sure where they relocated it!

looking forward to reading!

Welcome! Thank you for joining!

Yeah I was pretty exhausted too but I am used to staying up late  I just knew I didn't want a ton of work when I got home. To me that's the worst part of a vacation going through the pictures when you get home.

Ah ah ah you will have to wait for the TR :thumbsup2 It will be in the first couple updates and before the vacation next month.

It is still in DTD but it was moved near the Little Miss Matched store. It is across from the Christmas store.

Oh wow the Little Miss Matched store moved by the Christmas Store? Whew we were there last June, but things sure have changed!!! (my poor Toon Town!!! :(

Yeah they closed down the $10 and under shop and the Pooh corner shop. Now Little Miss Matched has the store where the $10 and under used to be and they opened a $20 and under shop where Pooh Corner used to be. I felt a little bit disoreinted with how things have changed

I'm in! Loved the sneak peek on FB and can't wait to hear all the stories. We had to forego our annual Pooh pic this past trip because they were doing the move and I was so bummed we couldn't get that pic.

Looking forward to all the food pics and fun stories.

Yay! Welcome!

I tried to update as much as I could on Facebook but I eventually forgot to keep charging my phone

Yeah we just stumbled upon it when my parents went outside Little MissMatched while I was shopping :cutie:

Thank you! I am excited to share all of our fun and not so fun stories

Subbing. I read through your last TR right before you left for this trip. I'm looking forward to see how you did in the 5k and what the rest of your trip had in store for y'all.

Welcome!

I hope you enjoyed our last TR!

We will post the first update tomorrow!

I lurked around your previous TR and I can't wait to hear about you most recent trip!:thumbsup2

Hey Caitlin. Looking forward to hearing about the trip.

Hi All! :flower3: I'm so glad so many of you are joining us as we tell of our recent adventures! I hope that you all continue to post your thoughts & ideas because we :lovestruc hearing what you're thinking!! Now on with the show....

Our travel day began early. VERY EARLY! Dale woke me up at 3 to tell me "You're going to DisneyWorld today!" Now I don't know about you, but when I hear those words it is very, very hard for me to go back to sleep. I tried really hard to get some sleep but I felt like that little boy in the old Disney commercial...."I'm too excited to sleep!" So around 5am I realized I was not going to be getting anymore sleep so I got up and checked email etc. Around 6am Caitlin ran out to Panera and got breakfast for the 3 of us. After breakfast we finished getting ready and at 7:30am we headed out for Detroit Metro Airport. We only live a short distance from the airport so by 8 we had checked our bags and were headed to TSA.

When we got to the security screening we learned that they had the new full body scanners. If you aren't familiar with those I'll give you the lowdown. You step into what sort of looks like a revolving door and raise your arms and the machine "scans" you. It is very simple unless the machine detects a problem. There was an older woman in line in front of me and the machine detected something and she was taken (somewhere?) to be given a full body pat down. When it was my turn, I thought to myself "this will be a piece of cake". Yep....famous last words. After it scanned me the agent told me there was a "problem". :scared1: All I could think of was "I don't want to be dragged off to no-man's land for the pat down!" While I was quietly panicking in my head, the agent told me she could tell I had on new pants and that sometimes new waistbands set off the machine. HUH?? :confused3 This is advanced technology?

So I had to raise my arms and let her put her finger on the waistband and feel it all the way around. As you know, there was no issue and I was allowed to continue on my way. By the time we reached our gate our plane was already there :yay:

We sat down across from a family traveling with 2 preschool aged girls. The girls were very sleepy and alternately laying across their parents and on the floor. Caitlin enjoyed watching them and they eventually struck up a conversation with us. The girls told us they were going to visit their grandparents in Florida. They didn't mention DisneyWorld and we didn't ask if they were going there just in case they weren't. Well eventually one of the girls asked where we were going. I told her "Disney World". Her reaction was absolutely priceless! She froze, her jaw dropped and she looked at her parents and shouted at the top of her lungs...."THEY'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!" It was adorable and wayyyyyy more convincing and emotional than any of those Disney commercials that are on right now  When she calmed down she told us they were headed there too. It was a great way to start our trip :goodvibes

Soon after we were called to board our flight. Our dirty flight. Yes, our seats and trays were filthy! I always bring anti-bac wipes for germs but this time they were needed for the grime. It was disgusting. If I were one to name names I would tell you not to fly Spirit but since I'm not....;)

Anyhow, after about 2.5 hours we landed at MCO and quickly disembarked and headed for the monorail.
disneyday1003.jpg

Now we've been at MCO literally dozens of times and should know our way around right? WRONG! An airport security guard saw our ME packet and kindly gave us directions. The wrong directions! We ended up getting turned around and we had to do some massive backtracking to find the ME :headache:

Finally though we found it and got in this line.

After a short wait we boarded our chariot and soon the video was playing.

We were pretty sure the video had been updated since August. Have any of you noticed that too?

Continued in next post....

Before long we saw the familiar sign announcing our return to the Happiest Place on Earth

(notice all the bugs? Love Bug season. YUCK! )

Just as we reached All Star Sports it began to rain.

disneyday1008.jpg

We were really hoping it would just be a quick down pour. Afterall, we had places to go and people to see!

We headed inside with a little trepidation. ( To be honest, after a bad experience at All Star Movies, I was apprehensive about staying at Sports. I just kept telling myself it was only 2nights and it was the logical choice since it was one of the 5k's preferred resorts.) When we got in the theming was immediately noticed from the wall decor right down to the balloons.

Since I had done online check-in we were through the line in no time and as luck would have it our room was ready! We decided to grab lunch before we went to our room since we were really hungry!

We each grabbed a refillable mug and we decided to share the nachos since we had a dinner adr a few hours later.

The nachos were very tasty and earned a :thumbsup2

When we finished eating we grabbed our carryons and headed out to find our room. We were happy to see the rain had already stopped!

I had booked a preferred room so we were in the Surf Section.
**Let me say now that I never book preferred as I didn't think it was worth the $. I was wrong! We loved being so close to the food court and the pool and I will be upgrading our August stay at Pop to preferred.***

We got to our room and we had a towel Mickey! (this would end up being our only towel animal of the whole trip )

Even the pavement had the surf theme

We got to the bus stop and just as we arrived there so did the rain! Luckily we had our umbrellas! So we boarded the bus and crossed our fingers that the rain wouldn't last because we were headed for a special Dis Meet!

I'll stop there though.....see ya real soon

Yay, you made it!! I am with you, it's always hard to sleep knowing you're going to Disney World. Too cute about the two little girls at the airport!

Ugh, that stinks about the full body scanner. We had those too but luckily we didn't have to be taken anywhere. But it is just weird. Sad it's come to that though.
