Hi Everybody,

Hope you're all enjoying the weekend! :goodvibes I have to confess not so long back there was some discussion on the boards about closed attractions, and I didn't really pay attention  [too busy booking and planning next trip, reckoned I would deal with the details later]!

When I read about the big paddle boats being out of service - I presumed it was temporary, you know maintenance or something but is it permanent?? Anybody know? I've copied and pasted the details from Jill's earlier post about closed attractions:

PERMANENT CLOSURES /

Pirouettes Du Vieux Moulin
closed till further notice but may operate occasionally depending on the crowds

Riverboats
closed till further notice

River Rogue Keelboats
closed till further notice but may operate occasionally depending on the crowds

Visionarium
permanent closure

Restaurant Agrabah Cafe
closed till further notice but may operate occasionally depending on the crowds

And what does depending on crowds mean - only operates when busy enough, or not too busy?

And what is the Visionarium?

Visionarium was a 360 degree film show that has been closed for a while now and will not reopen - it's being replaced.

I've never seen the keelboats or Agrabah Cafe open in Summer or winter!

One of the riverboats is running again now.

The Pirouettes Du Vieux Moulin has also been closed since I've been going 3 years ago. It's the Windmill bucket ride in Fantasyland.

Thanks for that,

The River boats are one of my favourites, but I would like to try the windmill bucket thing! - is there a cafe inside too? Its never been open or running when we have been!

It's more a kiosk than a cafe. Coffee, tins of soft drinks, sweets etc

Thanks Reid,

Its one of those places that just looks so inviting! Its mentioned a lot in the Easter activities - but it was roped off the last time we were there so couldn't even explore.....never mind heres hoping the crowds are just right for them to open it this trip!

In Simon V's book he says that the Windmill attraction closed some time ago and is not planned to re-open as it was just such a slow loading ride the queues were unbearable and hardly any guests actually got on to ride.

I didn't even realise it was a ride!!! I thought it looked very sweet but that it was just part of the theming! :rotfl:

Hi Steve - are you sure about this - everything I'd seen suggested that whilst the Mark Twain had been shifted to the loading bay, it was purely a 'decoration' thing for Halloween (and to free the maintenace bay for the Molly Brown).

The same sources had suggested the Riverboat(s) would be operating again until sometime 2006.

It really is good news is the Mark Twain is circling the river again though.

We've only seen the windmill & keelboats running on our 1st visit which was way back in 1996. We did ride on the keelboats which our kids enjoyed but never went on the windmill.

I'd also read that Disney had no plans to reopen the windmill due to very slow loading & small passenger numbers.

We always enjoyed the Visionarium & missed it on our last visit in June.

Agrabah Café is only used for special events (pin trading events, New Year's Eve, ...)

The Coyote River Keelboat which was used for the evacuation of Molly Brown is currenlty backstage on dry land (behind the main train building).

Buzz Lightyear Laserblast is currently being build inside le Visionarium building.

The Riverboats will be returning in july 2006 (!!), according to Envdie de +.

Thanks again everyone,

looks like the riverboats will not be running when we are there - never mind. Just means we'll have to go again!! :cool1:

I think it's a shame that they have effectively closed off that area of Adventureland - from what I remember, it made a nice addition to explore, and I enjoyed browsing through the bazar. :sad2:

Was there yesterday and the riverboat is indeed still closed. It's a Small World was also closed and according to the map will be so until around the 14th? I forget the exact date.

Just as you enter adventure land, there is a place that sells exotic looking baked goods, they have loads and loads of different ones.

Whats this place called, and can anyone recommend any think thats yummy from there?
