I didn't get the job...

Mo and I have been job hunting for a good year now, and I still haven't been picked up anywhere.

And we have a baby on the way.

And I'm getting out of the army in two days.

Part of me really wants to go to college and finish my bachelors. I'm about halfway there. The problem is supporting a wife and kid at the same time.

Any thoughts?

You get try and get a job with the federal government---miltary experience is a plus in the hiring process. You could look into various colleges to check out available programs and talk to the advisors.

Finish your degree.....

It will not be easy, but if you are in the military now, you are disciplined. You can work and go to school. I really feel strongly that school is the way to go.

A lot of companies will provide tuition assistance so you might want to keep looking and then finish your degree that way. What is your field? Where are you looking? Are you willing to move? I know many, many employers in Minnesota are begging for good workers, unemployment rate is around 3% right now.

What was your MO? Maybe you could find a job and get your degree (in what btw) at the same time. What branch of the military were you in? I know my son (who is army) is getting a ton of educational benefits. He's been going to school while in the army so he does have a good jump on things.

I don't know about you, but the military was the best thing ever for my son. Have you thought about maybe re-enlisting and getting the training and education for what you really want to do? That's how he's handling it. He's an MP going for his criminal justice degree. He also just put in for K-9 school so by the time he gets out he'll virtually have his choice of jobs and career.

Congrats on the baby! That must be sooo exciting for you both!
