I didn't do my homework...No night of Joy Labor day week?

I had already planned the trip before I heard about Night of Joy, but afterwards, I wasn't concerned because I read that it was going to be held in MK on Friday and Saturday night , but I just read below that it has been extended to include Thursday. I thought we would avoid crowds by arriving Wed afternoon, going to MK on Thursday and MGM on Friday and leaving on Saturday, but now I'm not so sure that's going to work. Any ideas? How bad will MK be on Thursday if we go early? (If it's extremely crowded, dh may never return...I've got one of those grumpy spouses everyone's posting about on the resort board, ugh!) Thanks a bunch!

I've never toured WDW when Night of Joy was being performed. I'll just bump this back to page one for you, so that some of our veterans can offer advice.

I went in September of 2002, and it was a MADHOUSE at the Magic Kingdom on that Friday. BUT, it was Friday. As far as I know, Night of Joy happens AFTER Labor Day, so you really won't have to worry about 3-day weekend level crowds.

The Magic Kingdom was PACKED the Friday that Night of Joy was being held, but I would imagine Thursday won't be as bad.

I don't know if they've ever had a Thursday Night of Joy, but my advice would be to test the waters. Make sure you get in as much Magic Kingdom as you need before that Thursday. In the morning, go. If it gets too crowded, just head out for another park. In my experience, crowds were ONLY affected at the Magic Kingdom.

Good luck!
