Yay!! 
I'm so thrilled, Christine (Pete's sister in law) & I did the Southampton Race for Life yesterday and completed it in 47 minutes!!
Neither of us had ever done anything like this before - never done anything more strenuous than taking my doggy for a walk!! We ran/jogged about a third of the route and fast walked the rest. It was a very moving experience, 10,000 women running and so many sad dedications written on their backs (but many celebrations too which was heartening to see). I ran in memory of my Uncle who died in April this year.
It was incredibly hot and I'd like to think if it hadn't been so scorching we could have made slightly better time but it was an amazing experience nonetheless. We sprinted over the finish line and just screamed and hugged we were so pleased with ourselves!!
We've already decided to do it again next year and hopefully better our time by 10 minutes.
Congratulations to all who've taken part in Race for Life - you're amazing!! Huge thanks to all who sponsored me (hopefully I've raised £120) and also big hugs and thanks to Pete for being so supportive and cheering us on the way round!
