:wave2: we just got back from SSR for our 1st trip home and loved every moment of it... on Sept. me and dsis going to try OKW/Studio we went to visit over the last trip and Love Love Love Olivia's... now my question is... what kind of view do you get at OKW studio section??? We kinda got spoiled with the view from DTD. I just dont like to second guess something I am not familiar...

TIA

Studios are located on the ends of the buildings, so the studio balconies are sort of on the side. They usually have "nice", but not fantastic views. Unfortunately, you will often overlook several a/c units, because of the building layout. Choices are water view, wooded or golf. I don't really have a preference.

Bldg 55 has a nice waterway view. The first floor studio units of Bldgs 28 and 29 are probably the worst views.

The OKW studios make up for it, in that they have 2 queen beds, and a very large bathroom and pretty nice size room in general.

I would request "Not first floor." The shrubbery tends to obstruct the view on many of the first floor units at OKW. The patios/balconies are fairly small on the studios, so the first floor units' patios seem to feel more cramped from the foliage.

Yes, I agree with the others that the studios are not the best views at OKW. I think the OKW 1,2 and 3 bedroom units have some of the best views anywhere on property, but the studios are often obscured by vegetation, and as Jean noted, there are often views of the airconditioners that all that vegetation is trying to hide!

I'll be down in a couple of days too and staying in a studio this time, so I'll take pictures of our location too. The real charm of OKW is in those huge balconys with the 1,2 and 3 bedroom units. I don't usually do a studio, but this is a short "pre-business" trip, so it's a place to hang our hats before the business meetings at Dolphin start on Wednesday.

oooooooohhh that would be awesome... thank you!! Hope you have a very relaxing stay....

we'll be arriving Sunday for our first stay in an OKW studio..I am hoping to not be on the ground floor....I love a balcony and with the ground floor it's hard to keep the girls only on the patio!

Is there a way to tell by your room number if it is ground floor or not? And would it already be assigned (maybe tomorrow?)?

Yes, the 3rd digit at will tell you what floor.

For instance 4210 is bldg 42, 1st floor, 4220 is bldg 42, 2nd floor, and 4230 would be bldg 42, 3rd floor. Remember, though, that you won't get your room number until the room is ready for occupancy, even if you check-in early.

thanks Chuck... I will def'ly keep this in mind.... as i was coming across the mail from DVC for the AKV.... I wonder if they are ready for occupnacy now... because the nu,ber of points we're using at OKW is the same number of points needed to stay at a standard rooom at AKV.... I love the AKL but I want the accesability to DTD... decisions decisions :faint:
