I couldn't resist the $49 fares any longer

I just booked SW to FLL in October for $49 each way. My DH has a conference in Boca Tues-Fri. We will fly down the saturday before and drive to Orlando. We will have 3 days in the parks before we drive down and stay at the beach while hubbie works. PLUS I only paid for me and the kids. Huubbie's fare is paid by company and the 3 days hotel at the beach are also paid by company. So I get a week of vacation on the cheap. I have to take the kids out of school but, I hope that won't be a major problem.

I think that the $49.00 rate has gotten alot of us! I know I'm taking a trip in December that I had not planned on. The fare was so good that I talked my mother into coming with me,

Count me in too. Only mine was with Spirit. The week before got a deal offer from WDW too. So must have meant to be! So I'm taking the 2 oldest grandkids to WDW. The younger ones are too young to go far without a parent.

I got the 49 rate with USair flying from Phila, the cost round trip with the taxes and fees comes to 116.70. AirTran and South West have the same rates. I think these fares are good until mid December

I just got up and checked the fares from Miss. on SW, and the $49 fare is gone. I had thought about moving my dates up by a day, and I was going to make the switch last night late. I thought I would sleep on it, then get up this morning and make the change if I still wanted to do it. When is looked at the SW site, the fares were gone, so I guess I'm staying with my original plan.

BTW, I waited around on the $39 special they were offering a few weeks ago, and I watched that disappear too. I've got to learn my lesson!

I wanted to jump on the $39.00 special about a month ago with Spirit Air. I had people who kept saying they were going to go with me but they didn't have the money. So I waited. Then the prices went up. Then they finally said they weren't going and the prices came back down to $49.00 so I grabbed it!

Ladydancer, that's exactly the same thing I did! I finally just decided to make the trip by myself, and then my mom decided I needed company for my trip. I found $99 each way from Portland for her, and now we're off to WDW soon!

Next time I'm going to jump on the $39 fare, and just go ahead with my own plans. You can't buy gas for a car trip for that amount! I'm trying to get myself in the mindset of acting on things instead of just waiting and watching, waiting and watching..........
